  • "What a pleasant surprise. Felt comfortable as soon as we walked in; greeted right away by a couple of people who were really happy we came in. Lisa was our server and she made the experience very worthwhile. Service was great and the Chef's Scampi was awesome. We plan to go back soon to try the Watermelon Martini and the Rabbit Entree."

  • "I'd been by the outside of Kafe Kokopelli maybe a dozen times, and when a friend came into town, I knew it was the right time to try it. The inside is absolutely unique. As long as you don't mind a few mounted animals watching over your meal, it's what I would call quirky and charming. The food is often locally grown, and I can't describe how delicious it was. My friend and I were there for lunch...we shared a brie appetizer, which was amazing. Just warm enough to be melty without being runny...local honey and fruit on the side...mmmm! Then I had the Beef, Bib, and Bleu salad (which was divine) and my friend had the Yellowfin salad, which she also claims was terrific. Our server was attentive. Definitely will go back!!"

  • "We drove an hour and spent the night at the Hampton Inn. Cocktail specials were great: Old Fashioned and Bellini. Bar has a great feel and bar staff were at the ready to help and make recommendations. The Summer menu is varied, with both light and substantial dishes withy great starters and entrees. Fried Green Tomato Napoleon with Goat Cheese was excellent. So, was the Rabbit Duo. We had the Almond Crusted Baked Brie with Berries for Dessert. The Wine pairings for dinner were helpful and nice choices. Service was prompt and professional - nicely done. We had a great time, friends had been telling us to check it out - now we're planning a party; the restaurant has several function rooms to host events and larger groups. Enjoy"

  • "My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner at Kafe' Kokopelli. I went to college right down the road and had always want to try the restaurant out, but never had the time. For being in a little town like Dade City it had a kitschy feel and excellent food. Its not an overly large restaurant, but that adds to the experience. I would defiantly go back and have already recommended to some of my friends."

  • "This is a very charming restaurant in downtown Dade City, I ordered the fried green tomato appetizer which was delicious! Entree I had the filet and it was the best cooked and most flavorful filet I've ever had, definitely holds it's own against the fine dining steak houses in Tampa. For dessert we had the banana bread pudding and the server made a table side carmalized sauce that is poured over it, amazing!!! All in all worth the drive, I will definitely be going back to try some of the other items, very fresh, nice farm to table concept with a lot of local ingredients. Check it out, you won't be sorry!"

  • "Hostess attempted to seat us in the last available table in the bar which was very loud. We refused. She took us to the dining room which had a single occupied table and seated us next to uncovered electrical wires in the worst seat in an almost empty dining room at 5:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon. The server brought one pheasant, assuming we would split it although we both ordered pheasant, so we had to wait while they prepared two more. He apologised profusely and was pleasant, acknowledging his mistake. We order their best meritage; they were out but substituted a fine Cabernet which was an upgrade without extra charge. The pheasant was outstanding and equal to Michelin restaurants we have enjoyed."

  • "We are tired of chain restaurants and our group of friends usually gather every week, so we decided to drive from Spring Hill. The menu choices are excellent, service was great and food was excellent. ..I enjoyed the salmon with quinoa and chick pea salad. Very different. I also enjoyed the fried brie.Was a little disappointed in the goat cheesecake as I expected something a bit lighter ,less dense. Overall dining experience was great! I would have liked to linger a bit longer before we were given out check.. For the prices they charge a salad should be included."

  • "This is my favorite restaurant in the area. I visit the area occasionally to see family and am coming from the Philadelphia area where there is foodie worthy dining at many restaurants. I travel a lot for work, eating out a lot at nice restaurants, and as a result, know when there is a "real chef" cooking in the kitchen. Hands down, this is the best restaurant in this area of Florida, probably ranks in the top 10 in the state. Everything on each plate works together and you can tell has been carefully prepared by someone who is thinking about making something special (prepared with love, skill and pride in good food). The sauces and sides build on the main feature of the plate - great dishes every time."

  • "Needed a place for a prewedding dinner. Reserved a table for 15 on short notice. The team at Kafe were great and fit us in with no problem. The restaurant had a rustic look but the menu was interesting. The food was really great and served out on a reasonable time and warm. Sometimes with that many people it can be disappointing. Everyone loved what they ordered and were happy with my choice. I would recommend this great hidden gem"

  • "This was our first time to the restaurant for dinner. The food was excellent and prepared very well. We had drinks at the bar before being seated, and the bartenders were excellent and shared some great drink suggestions. Unfortunately, our waiter was inattentive and seemed disinterested. He even brought our bill to us while we were still eating our dinner, with the comment "if you want desert I'll just add it on later." Really unfortunate ending. If we return, we will ask for a different waiter because everything else was so nice."

However, since the new owners have taken over and made some improvements, I suggest that all who read this, treat yourself to the new version and frequent the Kafe on a regular basis. The atmosphere is outstanding and the food is absolutely amazing. It is worth you making the trip from outside of Dade City. I had an opportunity to speak with the owners while my fiancé and I were there. exceptionally nice people that truly care about your entire dining experience."

  • "My sister and I both had the broiled steak - probably the best steak I've ever eaten. Seasoned perfectly, tender, cooked exactly as asked - and one asked for rare and one was medium well. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive without hovering. We will definitely recommend to our friends and will return often."

  • "First time customer to restaurant. Was very pleased with the service and the fact the host new our name and took us right to our seat. That's how a reservation is suppose to work. Second thing I would like to mention was the food, it was superb in flavor, quality, and presentation. Very nice atmosphere, it was a little noisy, but that was to be expected on Valentines Day. No biggie there. The only compliant I have, and its a big one for me, is that while the food quality and taste were superior, it was absolutely not enough food for the money I spent there. I actually left there hungry and paid closed to $100 bucks. While I would like to return, this alone would keep me from coming back."

  • "Move to this area was looking for a unique the kind of place. Not really our style. Food was alright but didn't Wow us. 1. Wife's meal Salmon was sent to the table skin up and very under cooked (Raw). It had to go back to the kitchen and took a long time to return. 2, My Short Rib we served in a brown sauce which was very salty and the steak was pretty tough at medium. Again, I would give it a shot if there is nothing else to do. Just don't expect a Side Burns or Wine Exchange type of meal."

  • "The food was very good but way to pricey for what you get. I don't like the fact your desserts are not listed on the menu, therefore you get very surprised when the bill comes. I won't be getting dessert again…. (was good but not for the price) Mood was good, but tables were much too close to each other. ( and small ) In future, we will only go there for very special occasions… May go for lunch…"

  • "Was disappointed the menu changed so much since last visit. Food we ordered was good, but portion size was too small for the price paid. I am glad to see a change and an attempt to modernize the menu and de-clutter the decor, but the cost for three diners was too exorbitant for what we ordered. Will probably try again in the spring when the menu changes. But I do not have high hopes for the experience since the winter menu, which should have the heartiest portions, was entirely too small for my liking. At least the crab bisque and Sangria is still on the menu."

  • "Kafe Kokopelli's is one of our favorites! We come here every year during the holiday season and drive quite a distance to do so. We never feel rushed, the restaurant decorations are fun to look at, and the food is delicious. Definitely try the Brie appetizer, but our filets were delicious too. Our server was very pleasant, had good recommendations, and never made us feel rushed to eat and leave. Our son loves to look around the restaurant at all the items hanging. Kafe Kokopelli's always makes for a nice experience."

The wonderful quirky interior decor and great service are still there but the menu has been "upgraded" with a couple of key items retained - sangria & she-crab bisque. If you haven't been a while, you need to go back & experience the new Kokopelli. I recommend reservations as they do fill up quickly."

  • "We were looking for a Dade City place to eat while visiting Church Street Christmas and discovered Kafe Kokopelli on the internet. Our experience was simply superb in every way. This is one of the few places that truly understands quality customer service. From greeting to good bye, we felt appreciated and were definitely well served. The food was unique, healthy, and delicious! I can't wait to go back even though it was a bit of a drive for us! Great place for a romantic evening, but we also saw some families with children happily enjoying their meals. The table layout is excellent to give each party its own little nook! The décor is something that people just must experience for themselves -- we loved it."

  • "This charming restaurant is well decorated, has a very fun ambience and great service! The fried brie appetizer was fantastic. We sat in the bar area, the place was full of energy and had lots of conversation and some great live music. We met the owners and the chef and they really seemed to enjoy meeting and greeting guests. Our food was good, we each had a sandwich of some sort. I had the burger, which I was glad to see was local and grass fed. The sandwiches came with chips that seemed to be freshly made in house. I'm a strong coffee kind of guy and the coffee was suited more for a weaker coffee palate, but that's ok, the pumpkin swirl cheesecake made up for it! Overall, we had fun and would definitely return!"
