Diner Reviews
  • "Wanting to try for 2 years and finally got a chance. If this had been a French restaurant it would have had Michelin 2*. Enjoyed/ adored every course ( had 5). Very good wine list made up of the very best by reputation. Needs to be a bit more adventuresome. However, the Champagne section is non-pareil. Service excellent. Will return soon--real soon."

  • "This was my third visit in two years. Food was fantastic, service outstanding - and what a delight it is to go to a restaurant where you are able to have a quiet conversation! I will certainly be back soon."

  • "In recent trip to NY, I dined at several Michelin starred restaurants such as Le Bernardin, Daniel, Eleven Madison Park, JungSik, Marea, Jean Georges, etc. JungSik was one of my favourite! The room is beautiful and elegant, the space between tables are good and they had a really nice unique Korean themed tableware. We had a tasting menu and the quality of foods, attention to detail, and unique flavor combinations were outstanding. What made our experience really memorable was the service we received from the restaurant and our server(manager/sommelier), Jackie. She was very professional, friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable about food and wine I wouldn't be surprised if JungSik gets its 3rd star next year. I would highly recommend!"

  • "Very good but much too expensive. Not a great value."

  • "The technique and execution of the flavor and presentation where extraordinary. My wife and I enjoyed every minute of our 3 hour dinner. The wine list was extensive and unique. The service was very professional, warm, and attentive to every need. I will put this on my NYC food itinerary and visit again. Definitely recommend this establishment to family and friends."

  • "Our second visit to Jungsik and the food was just as amazing, definitely tuned to the season. Outstanding service. Wine pairings were simply awesome. Rapidly becoming a favorite restaurant."

  • "Not your everyday Korean at all!!! Nouvelle international food with a Korean twist. A seamless fusion of Korean spices and flavors with European ingredients such as bibimbap with fois gras and Perigod black truffle...Korean risotto! A broad option of choices from seafood to meats, fowl, vegetables, mushrooms. The friendly yet still elegant service was also seamless. Always ready to fold a napkin, pick up an empty plate, refill a wine glass but in a way that you hardly notice. Very knowledgeable and friendly without being effusive."

  • "Over-priced but delicious food in reasonable portions. Beautifully presented. Wonderful service, knowledgeable staff. We fault it for being a bit precious. We ordered a tea after the meal which only at the bill did we see cost $14! The staff should have told us how "special" and costly it was when we ordered! Also we did not like all the intermezzos, which are so 1990s, or the sweets at the end of the meal. We would not have ordered dessert if we had expected them. The two courses we did order were great, and so pretty."

  • "The culinary artistry is absolutely fantastic. But the portions are rather tiny. For example, the "risotto" bowl contained literally one tablespoonful of food. Therefore it is relatively expensive compared to other Michelin starred restaurants. We would not have felt full and satiated if there were no bread presented in the middle of the nine course tasting meal. Even with the bread, we were just barely full. But it was a great experience."

  • "This is the ultimate gourmet modern Korean restaurant. The food is extremely tasty and is plated in an artful way. The ambiance is quite and sophisticated. Great experience!"

  • "I could not have selected a better option than Jungsik to celebrate my husband's 45th birthday. From the food, to the presentation, to the above and beyond service, to the collection of dishes we experienced... all exceptional. While it is on the expensive side, it was 1000% worth all of it. What a great evening."

  • "The service and food are excellent. The bibimbap with black truffles was decadent. The wagu short rib was also phenomenal. Drinks were just ok. Great spot for a special occasion."

  • "We heard that jungsik got a star in guide michelin and wanted to try the place. We chose feom the a la carte and was pleased but not overwhelmed. Maybe we ha to high expectations. Service was uneven but one lady was very nice."

  • "Worth its Michelin stars! Great experience, must visit and re-visit."

  • "Unbelievable. Each of the plates that we ordered were so good we devoured every bite of it. The fried oysters were amazing (they were covered with some sort of squid ink and anchovy aioli), the rice platters (uni, bossam, etc.) were also excellent. Out of the numerous fine dining experiences I've had in Korea as well as in NY, this restaurant surpassed most of them in terms of taste, creativity, and ambience. This place has definitely become my favorite restaurant, I look forward to coming back here for more special occasions to come!"

  • "Jungsik is a wonderful restaurant. We'd recommend the tasting menu to learn just how wonderful. The food is imaginative, the service impeccable and the ambiance serene. There is the sticker shock at the end of the evening, but it's well worth it for a special occasion."

  • "This is one of the most satisfied dining experiences I have had in NYC! First of all, the mood and the interior of the restaurant was spot on! Great for couples! Especially on special occasion! Perfect spot for valentines day and birthday! Services were so awesome that it even surprised me! Food was delicious and well presented! None of them were below average! I will recommend getting the tasting menu for your first visit! You will not be disappointed! You will be leaving full and satisfied! Trust Me!"

  • "We had high expectations and they were exceeded. The 10 course tasting menu with wine was a real gem--each course was a little masterpiece of flavor and presentation, This is truly a gourmet experience but totally accessible and unpretentious."

  • "I know this is TriBeCa but come on. The prices were just offensive. The duck was so salty I couldn't eat it. Everything else was very good but in no way warranted the outrageous cost. No wonder I couldn't find a menu online. Excellent service and lovely ambiance. Would never go back or recommend it though."

  • "My wife and i just spent an evening a Junksik for our anniversary and we loved it. We did the tasting menu and my wife did the wine pairing. Food was very good and the wine pairing was spot on. I have done pairing before and they were good but as a self declared wine lover I always want each wine to become more complex with the food. This tasting did that at almost every course. Very well planned pairing for sure. Service was probably the best we have had in NYC and the food was in the top 5 for tastings. Junksik deserved the upgrade to two Michelin stars this year for sure."

  • "In a sea of high end restaurants that follow the same formula, Jungsik creates something truly memorable and unique. Food is different (but in a way that really works), perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented to boot. I'd go ever week were it not for the tabs, but it's most definitely worth it for a special occasion."

  • "The food was excellent and the service exceptional. I told them I was a culinary student and they even gave me a tour of the kitchen. The staff was incredible friendly and helpful; specially my server Jaqueline. She made the difference between a good experience and a great experience and she is sure very knowledable. There is always at least one server paying attention to see if anyone needs anything. The food is delicious so many courses and different textures and the wine Jaqueline picked for me was superb."

  • "Of all the restaurants I have been to, I believe Jungsik is at the top when it comes to service. Our server was quick, accommodating, and went out of her way to make the experience amazing. The food was terrific as well. Dishes are small but they fill you up quickly. Definitely a perfect venue for a special occasion or date night."

  • "Almost empty Friday night, food was mediocre and one dish we ordered (pork belly) was 90% fat. Service was kind and friendly so that compensated for food."

  • "This is an amazing restaurant with a very creative menu. We tried the tasting menu. However, the A La carte menu has a good combination of things that you can try. The great thing is that A La carte menu items come in 2 portion size so that you can pick a smaller portion if you want to create your own "tasting menu". Great and attentive service. We had an arguing couple next to our table. They moved us to a different table per request. We will definitely come back. Will be surprised if this restaurant is not going to be on Michelin's list in the future."

  • "The service was excellent as everything was explained. It was obvious that there was no disconnect between the servers and the kitchen as every request was taken into consideration. The food was amazing and I've never experienced such a range of taste in a single meal."

  • "Billed as haute Korean, this was haute in every way: taste, service, price. We did the $155 10-course tasting menu. Portions are tiny but I was bursting by the end (my husband was fine). Presentation was gorgeous; service was helpfully watchful. Loved my tequila Seoule Rejuvenation cocktail. The tasting menu had scallops, duck, octopus, tuna, red snapper, pork belly -- experience well worth the price tag."
