  • "We celebrated our 35 wedding Anniversary here and even though the food was good we thought it was much to loud for such a special occasion. We both felt like the seats were very hard and uncomfortable. If you want a quiet dinner wiuth that special loved one this is not the place to go."

We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and since we both love fresh seafood, there was no discussion of going anywhere else. The fish is the freshest in Jacksonville. Service was great and prices reasonable. We will be back!"

  • "Although it was nice sitting outside and having a view of the Marina, the overall experience, including service and food were less than expected past on ratings from other diners. Our experience certainly did not mirror other diners. BTW, we've eaten at Palm Valley Fish Camp, North Beach Fish Camp and Marker 32, and this was by FAR our least desirable experience on ALL levels...but obiously, this are is really lacking in restaurants, because the wait as we were leaving was ridiculous."

  • "A nice dinner for our family of four, and our daughter's 21st birthday. The table was reserved, so no waiting, service was great, and we honestly had 4 of the best pieces of fish we've ever had served to us. Salmon, Cod, Mahi, and Tuna, and all were top notch. The ONLY slightly negative mark is that the kitchen seemed a little behind, and we waited a while for the food. But only 4 dishes that good could have made up for it - and it did. bill kirk"

  • "Service was good, and the food was good too. It's busy and noisy, but not oppressively so. A few points: the gator tail appetizer was bland and nothing special; they ran out of the flounder that was the evening special (but substituted snapper, which was good as well), and it would seem that a restaurant like this would offer bread to its customers. In the end, dinner for two with two drinks each, a shared appetizer, and no dessert, came to $100 with tip. So it's priced more like an upscale seafood restaurant than a fish camp. At that price point, it would finish second to Bonefish Grill, a few miles up the road. But it was enjoyable, and I expect we'll be back. Be sure to make reservations, as this is quite the busy and popular place."

  • "Made a reservation for our son's birthday which I listed in the Open Table reservation as asked. Hostess' "Happy Birthday" wish when we arrived was the only acknowledgement of our special occasion. The restaurant was VERY loud; difficult to hold a conversation at our table. Our table was sticky and wobbly when we arrived. We spent $150 for a family of 4. Food was ok. Maybe we'll give it a try for lunch."

This usually leads me to walk out on a restaurant. However, I really wanted to try the food. I'm glad we stayed. The service picked up and we all enjoyed our dinner."

  • "Every time my wife & I drove by this place it was packed. We finally made some reservations & were promptly seated as we walked in (without a wait). I had the Blackened Mahi special & my wife had the crab cakes - both were outstanding, with the Mahi special being one of the top 5 best dishes I've ever tried (we eat out a lot). I had the roasted beet salad to begin with - again, nice combination of flavors/textures/tastes...something new. My wife had the deep fried artichoke hearts & said they were good as well. We both shared a piece of the key lime pie after dinner. Excellent dining menu - waitress was a little absent at times, but the place was packed. I would definitely recommend this place - nice to see a good restaurant here."

  • "I had a daily special fish and my wife had shrimp. Food was good and well prepared. The food took a while and we got the "we are so slammed" excuse. It was busy, but if you can't be prompt when it is busy- it won't be busy long. Good food will get us back in for another shot. Nice decor. Needs more outdoor seating and some way to bring down the noise level."

  • "Tables are very close together and you can actually hear the next tables conversation so it's VERY loud upstairs. Outside would be great when the weather warms up and we will definitely do that next time. I had Shrimp and grits which was great but hubs ordered fried fish and shrimp which was just... Well, fried fish and shrimp. Their menu is much better than that and even he said was a bad choice. Tried the bread pudding and it was delish too. All in all, a great new place to try and I look forward to the warmer days, a couple of appetizers and a few drinks on the patio!"

We asked for another round of drinks from the bar when our food was brought and they arrived when we were about halfway through our meal. Food was ok, but the hush puppies were burned. One of our party ordered iced tea, and it was instant, not real tea. This place is receiving way too much hype."

  • "Had heard good things about this new restaurant. It is not as rustic as other fish camps and the food is better than the average fried platters served at other fish camps. We had the salmon and broiled seafood and both were excellent. The noise level is high so might be difficult to hold conversation if you have a large table. We only had 4 of us so it was acceptable. Had heard that outside seating was also loud due to cars on the bridge over the creek. Like the fact that you can make reservations, even for small groups. Our table was ready when we arrived. Would definitely recommend it to other friends."

  • "A frequent visitor to Palm Valley Fish Camp, this was my first experience at Julington Creek Fish Camp. It was great to see old favorites on the menu, and to find the same consistently great quality in a location now closer to home. I am amused at the noise level going from Moderate to Energetic to Do Not Recall, but perhaps Energetic is particularly accurate for both locations, as you can tell by talking to others and looking around that diners are having a great meal and a good time. Kudos!"

  • "I have now eaten at all the "fish camp" restaurants run by the current owners and each has its own ambiance. The food at all is outstanding, but I particularly liked the view of the boat harbor and tributary waterway to the St Johns River at The Julington Creek location. For any outing where patrons enjoy good seafood, a well stocked bar, great service and a water view, this is the place!"

  • "Place looks great and the food is very good; great, even. But VERY loud, and for the price and decor, I would expect a better dressed wait staff. (Short shorts and t-shirts just do not fit the look of the restaurant.) It doesn't seem to know if it is a nice place to go on a date or if it is truly a "fish camp." Give me one or the other, please. I like both; just not at the same time."

  • "This restaurant has amazing food, but I feel that it is way too crowded, the tables are much too close together, it makes it very difficult to get either in or out of your seat without encroaching on the neighbouring table; even the wait staff have difficulty attending you. The noise level is way above what I would term normal levels of "conversation" level, it seems like everyone has to "shout" to be heard. The time it takes for your food to arrive is also long despite the wait staff being attentive and taking your order early on. Car parking is an issue also, there are never enough car parking spaces, though they do have courtesy valet parking which is a nice added touch, if you like your car valet parked (I personally do not)."

My husband and I shared the "Low Boil for Two," and it was a wonderfully huge portion of very well prepared seafood and veggies. My children loved the view and took pictures of the water and sail boats. I highly recommend this new find!"

  • "We have eaten at and enjoyed the restaurants run by this group. The food at all of them is excellent. However, this restaurant (similar to Palm Valley) is so very loud you can't hear even the person next to you. This is disappointing given that it is a new property and they could have easily built in features, materials to dampen the sounds. The tables are also extremely close - if you go, ask for a booth as they cannot crowd those in. Additionally, the service was really mediocre - something we have not encountered at any of their other restaurants."

  • "Ok, dined on Saturday around 6pm. We were seated at a two top next to a service station with a view of the garbage dumpster. (Our first time here) The service was good however the person who delivered our food did not know who got what so they did the what I call "The Auction" I've got a grouper...... The two top tables are small and are to close to the other tables. You really do not feel your conversation is private. The place is LOUD, not "Energetic" as the rating says. Now, couple that with tables too close ..... I will say food was excellent. They had a lot of specials, one of which I chose. What wasn't special was the price. They could do a better job communicating that. It's awkward to ask. Hope this helps."
