  • "Hostess/waitress ((Allison ?) was very good, engaged my business clients in great dialog, made foreign visitors feel at home and they remembered what a great place Joes was to eat, and said to me that they would recommend Joes on the waterfront to any of their co-workers traveling to Boston. I have not had chance to dine outside, but look forward to it when the weather warms up... Chris J. "

  • "While I enjoyed brunch, one of the reasons I brought my friends here was because of the free bloody mary you'd get for free with your meal. Unfortunately they no longer offer that. I don't know if I'd return for brunch, as it was super expensive to have to pay for breakfast and a bloody mary. So overall, it was good, but also very disappointing."

  • "Fun, casual place to go with very nice menu and consistently good food. I love the crab cakes. My husband loves the fish and chips. Salads are good too. For those who have a gluten allergy, Joe's is one of the best places in terms of allergy training of staff, careful attention and menu options. They provide special gluten free rolls too."

  • "Our experience at Joe's Bar and Grill was incredible. The food was amazing, especially the bread bowl clam chowder! My family goes there alot and we always get that dish. Compliments to the chef please! We will see you very soon!"

  • "We had a dinner for 6, had the best table in the house, corner with a view of the city. We were all talking and servers were kind and patient with us. My father in law didn't like his chicken pot pie (more of a stew) and they quickly removed and replaced with a bowl of chowder more to his liking. Families all around us but in a nice, casual way, tourists and locals. Have been here for drinks too, great location in the North End. It was a good pick for a group with varied tastes. Parking was easy in lot short walk away, we will be back."

  • "Good food, limited brunch menu; great location; lousy Bloody Mary."

  • "My six year old requires gluten free food. The menu offered almost all their entrees available in gluten free."

  • "I was a little disappointed that they made their brunch menu smaller, and don't do their drink special anymore. I have to say that mimosa special is what got me in the door in the first place. With so many other great brunch places in boston it might be time to start branching out a little more. Don't get me wrong the food is great, it's just not anywhere close to as appealing without the brunch offer they used to have. I'd rather spend a few extra bucks and go to Abe and Louie's or a diner in town. That being said, service was great as usual and we had no problems with the food."

  • "I went with a group of friends on a Saturday evening. Two of us arrived early and had a drink at the bar. The bartender was good. Our reservation was honored when the rest of the party arrived on time. The server was EXCELLENT - I hate I can not recall her name. The wings and calamari were great appetizers. Two of us had the fish and chips and it was just ok. One of us ordered prime rib that he enjoyed. The other had mac/cheese but I forget which add-in. It was just ok as well. The bar drinks were good all around - but my "forever young" drink at the bar tasted different than my "forever young" brought to the table - and it lacked blackberries. They both tasted good - but were not the same drink. We'll be back for drinks and apps"

  • "We had three kids with us, and just wanted some good food early in the evening. Our waitress was excellent, very attentive. The food was great, and there was something for everyone. Great drink list for the adults too! Being right on the water I'm sure during the summer it's even better!"

  • "It was a nice place overall. We had to wait for a bit for our reservation. The bar is nice, but the cocktails are expensive."

  • "The food was okay but the waitress was CLEARLY upset that she didn't have a lot of tables on a Saturday night. She was pushing us to buy drinks and when I changed my order of a coke to a seltzer water real quick (on a diet), she rolled her eyes. She was throwing things down on the table, being short with us, just awful and I saw other tables were upset too. Just ruined everything."

  • "We always enjoy brunch at Joe's on the Water. It's beautiful looking out over the harbor. The food is usually consistent and the wait staff very friendly. They do a great job accommodating gluten allergies. The service was just OK this time--they forgot half of one of our guest's orders and it took them quite a while to bring it to her while the rest of us ate, and did not remember to modify a dish as she had requested. All in all, we had a nice time, though."

  • "Joe's was great for our family (5 adults) on New Year's Eve because the menu had something for everyone. The service and food was excellent. Joe's is consistent and a family favorite."

  • "Great view of the Boston harbor, and an authentic Boston ambience, but unfortunately the food is at best "average." Food arrived cold, and had to be reheated, and waiter was very transparent about the fact that the kitchen did not have its act together. Draught beer on tap was good, potential vibe is promising, but needs to improve its food offering and probably its chef!"

  • "After paying and receiving our valet ticket and seat in restaurant. Valet pulls me out because they can't find key and have to move my car. Then while watching him move my vehicle he couldn't drive it correctly. After being settled and receiving our food the watress didnt check on our filets til after we ate them. Didn't get or was asked for butter and sour cream or water for our meals. After giving our waitress the valet card we waited 15 mins and left. As we walk outside we see both Valet sitting and no vehicle. Freezing and waiting another 10 mins for truck the inexperienced man pulled up and has trouble putting car in park. This resulted in vehicle going in and out of gears and abuse to the transmission."

  • "Great service, great food, great view. Possibly the best Filet I've had in a very long time, perfectly cooked. Champagne and cheesecake with strawberries for desert. It doesn't get much better!"

  • "Sadly, they have done away with the free glass of juice at brunch, and the butter no longer is mixed with marmalade!! Two significant losses, in my opinion, but otherwise, a very good breakfast with good service."

  • "Very accommodating in moving our dinner reservations. Very noisey and hard to hear across the table when your with a large party. Food is good, nothing fantastic. Mixed drinks weak."
