  • "I found this restaurant on Open Table and decided to try it. When I discovered where it was, I wondered if I had made the right choice. I am so glad I tried it. The experience from the time I walked in the door was excellent. I was welcomed by one of the co-owners and shown a table near the bar, which was nice as I was dining alone. My waiter, Mark, was attentive and helpful. After an orientation to the menu from Mark, I ordered the lettuce and herb salad, which was exquisite (the dressing was fabulous), and the filet. The filet was cooked to perfection and the flavor was terrific thanks to a special seasoning used on the steak. I finished with the Brown Butter pudding, which was as close to heaven in a dessert as one can get. Well done!"

  • "I brought my wife and friends to Joan's for the first time. I raved about it to them. We were not disappointed. Great food, ambiance, staff. Starters were fantastic. Desert amazing. Great wine list. And Joan and her staff couldn't be nicer. They make it look easy. I'll be back."

  • "The food was good, but nothing special and VERY expensive. It was too noisey to carry on a conversation. Inadequate designated parking. The service was attentive and professional, but based on the very ordinary food and ridiculous prices I would not go back."

  • "My husband and I love Joan's! The staff is always so welcoming, and the service is impeccable. I had the pork tenderloin, and my husband had the 16 oz rib-eye. Talk about filling! Topped off with a brown butter pudding, they practically had to roll us out of there. We will definitely be back!"

  • "This is our favorite Restaurant so we chose to go just the two of us for our Anniversary. It was everything we hoped for. Amazing food, great service and most of all, Brown Butter Pudding!"

  • "We had a great anniversary dinner at joan's in the park. They made the night special and we will definitely be back for another special occasion. I had the filet and it was perfect, my husband had the rib eye and he said it was the best steak he's ever had. The brussel sprout side dish was to die for. I did a lot of research on a place for this special night and I'm so happy I chose this place."

  • "I had the scallops, they were average size, came with no sides and there were 3 of them for 29 dollars. A side of mashed potaoes were 9 dollars and they were good but it was enough for one. When i pay 10 bucks a scallop i do not want to go away hungry. Throw in a salad, some veggies or potatoes. Would that really cut into your bottom line if there was a chance i would return and stop telling the story of the 10 dollar scallops ?"

  • "I have eaten here @ least 5 times. It is so nice to walk into this small, intimate restaurant and be greeted immediately by one of the owners with a smile. I LOVE the food-great flavor, pleasing to the eye, appropriate portions. Our server was very knowledgeable about wine and the items on the menu and so very pleasant! The two owners, one is the chef, help with serving the dishes so food always arrives hot plus it is a special bonus to be able to thank the chef. It is a very warm, friendly place where you are greeted like an old friend, and they really do remember you from previous visits. I cannot wait to go back again. Remember to save room for dessert."

  • "We celebrated our wedding anniversary at our favorite restaurant! Joan, Susan and Dan provided a fantastic dining experience and helped us celebrate in style with thoughtful details here and there to make the evening so special. The meal was outstanding and the wine paired great with our steak and lamb entrees. Everything was perfect and we enjoyed the whole evening immensely!"

  • "We had two appetizers, both excellent; the bibb salad was delicious; the scallops were phenomenal. I would highly recommend this restaurant--be sure to get a reservation, as the restaurant is relatively small."

  • "Joan's left me hoping for a change in trend of the dining experience. Joan's is a small, intimate restaurant that takes pride in delicious food and phenomenal service. It is truly a restaurant that can be compared to no other. They specialize in a few select dishes, with enough variety to please a crowd. They boast an extensive wine menu and knowledgable servers. Our group of 4 has raved about Joan's to everyone we know. I don't have a single suggestion to improve our dining experience. You can expect the owner and chef to personally and genuinely ensure your satiafaction. Bravo Joans! To say we were impressed is an understatement."

  • "My fiancée and I finally had the chance to try Joan's on a Wednesday night. We arrived early and ordered a couple glasses of wine while waiting for our table. Shortly after, we were seated and treated to a wonderful meal! Our server was very professional and helpful. Joan and the chef stopped by the table to see how our meal was. Very friendly!! We will be back"

  • "This family owned and operated restaurant is incredible. You are in for an outstanding dining experience that consistently includes the owner's cheerful warm greeting the minute you walk in the door...friendly helpful table service throughout your meal...and masterfully prepared food by an amazing chef who also takes time to come out of the kitchen and greet you. How great is that!"

  • "We had a wonderful dinner! The food was superb in all aspects. We were promptly seated and out server was very attentive. He did a thorough job of explaining the menu as this was our first time dining there. The scallops and pork tenderloin were excellent. I would highly recommend this fine restaurant to anyone. What a neighborhood gem! If there was one drawback, parking was somewhat of an issue with the streets narrow and full of snow, but this should not reflect on the restaurant."

  • "For those of us who dine out a lot the trend toward neighborhood oriented foodie friendly restaurants has been most welcome. Unfortunately most of these places have flaws you could drive a milk truck through. joan's in the Park is another story all together. The owners and staff have taken quaint, neighborhood based, fine dining to another level. The family owner operators are on their game in every facet of the operation. The charm behind the service is only surpassed by the skill behind the preparation of the food. We are witness this place will cause the weak kneed to faint it's so good."

  • "During a cold evening in January, my friend and I decided to meet for dinner at Joan's ( as it is "in the 'hood"). "Twas to be a mid-week break, when we wanted to eat light. We each ordered the pork tenderloin, which was very tender, moist and flavorful. We decided to just order one side, and split their specially-prepared brussel sprouts. YUMMY! With a glass of wine each - it was just enough. As usual, the service was great!"

  • "This is my go-to restaurant for special occasions. The menu is excellent; the food all delicious, and the service superb. The plates were very attractive. Our server, Dan, was helpful and accommodating; Joan treats us like family. The ONLY drawback is the noise level. Conversation is difficult."

  • "This cozy, neighborhood gem features a short, but very well balanced menu; there is truly something for everyone. The flavor pairings are exciting for foodies, but are in no way pretentious. We started with the crab toasts - delicate yet layered with incredible flavors from the ghost chili mayo. The gnocchi, cooked with crispy bits of ham were light and savory. Filet mignon was cooked to absolute perfection, with a mushroom and peppercorn sauce. The red bliss mashed potatoes side (plenty for two!) paired well with the steak. The atmosphere buzzes with energy; the owners and staff seem to truly take pride in making sure your dining experience is an excellent one. Don't plan to rush this one - enjoy every minute of it!"

  • "Joan's In The Park is a hidden gem! Stepping into the restaurant is like stepping into a European Bistro! The vibe is energetic, yet sophisticated. The food was amazing---the crab toasts appetizers were delicious and the striped bass was cooked to perfection. The servers provide the perfect blend of timely arrival of food and beverages, but gave you time to enjoy your food and company without interruption! It was a perfect evening!"

  • "My husband and I have gone 4 times in the past year and each time we have a delicious and satisfying experience. We love the appetizer/small plate offerings and often stay on that side of the menu, only because we have a hard time making a commitment. 3-4 choices are both yummy and filling. The menu seems to change frequently and we've never been disappointed. I will say that the steak tartare is phenomenal. Be sure to ask for extra toast to go with it! Luv this place and will be going back more frequently in 2014."

  • "I had reservations for 7pm but my date was late so I called thinking we may just be out of luck but they were very nice and told me not to worry that my table would be ready when we arrived. Sure enough it was and we were greeted as though we were family. Our server, Dan, was amazing and very knowledgeable about wine selections. We had a wonderful experience and I can't wait to go again."

  • "The food was outstanding, as was the service. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The tables were well placed giving the feeling of being part of the ambiance, while having our own space. The background music was perfect, the activity vibrant, and neither were intrusive. A great dining experience!"

  • "Food ranged from quite good to exceptional. The gnocchi appetizer was fantastic. Service was friendly. Piped-in music was a little strange. On the pricy side, but then again we took home enough leftover steak to make another meal so it works out to be a fair price."

  • "My husband and I have eaten at Joan's in the past and have enjoyed it. But this past night out for us was perfect. Dan, our waiter offered us a sample of a few wines before making our selection. Dan described the menu choices with knowledge. Joan then stopped by checking on us and our meal. It was a busy night, many people waiting for a table and yet, we were not rushed and felt special. Thanks Joan's in the Park."

  • "It was my husband and I's second visit to Joan's in the Park and we were just as impressed as our first visit. Love the small town feel this place gives off. Joan herself called to confirm our reservation, the chef brings the food out and our waiter Dan was knowledgable and made us feel right at home. This will definitely be our "go to" place for special occasions, a cozy place on a cold winters night!"

  • "First time at Joan's. Went for my wife's birthday dinner. My wife had filet mignon I had pork tenderloin. They were both exceptional. Service was excellent. The place had a very cozy neighborhood feel but at the same time provided the king of fine dining experience that one hopes for on a special occasion. Would definitely go back"
