  • "We had great service, but compared to other restaurants in the area, I didn't think the value was there if I compare to places like Prime & Ruth's Chris. I know it is a different kind of cuisine, but I ordered a trio of their seafood specialties. Presentation was beautiful, but for $35 (for just entree), I received 1 small scallop & 2 small pieces of fish. I was told that the $30+ scallop only dish is only 4 scallops. If they are the same size as what I received, I would be dissatisfied with that pricing vs portion. Maybe the scallops were just small this particular evening. Our server, however, was great & the atmosphere is always nice. This is our 2nd time dining at Jia & now I know why we must not have been anxious to return."

  • "We aren't old-not hard of hearing. The noise level inside was too much. Lots of dishes being dropped, staff moving tables, people yelling at tables that were too close. And.. They kept playing Daft Punk's - Get Lucky - over and over and over... They need more professional training for the staff. (The casino has dropped the ball here on this point). The food was not good. The sushi was dry and over processed. The orange chicken could have been MUCH better. Nothing was outstanding, it was not an enjoyable outing and we won't be back."

When we returned to the coast this last weekend it was first on my list for dinners. We had the Crab Rangoon's, they left little to be desired, and of course I ordered the War Won Ton soup. The flavor, quality, and quantity had diminished GREATLY. I have no plans to return."

  • "This restaurant is located inside a casino, hence the lower scores for Ambience and Noise Level. The food was quite good and the service was excellent. I noticed complaints about portion size, and it is true that you should not order an entree and expect 5lbs of food. However, the food sizes are appropriate for a 4 course meal. So if you order an app, salad, entree, and desert you will leave feeling quite satisfied but not nauseatingly full, which is great if you have further plans. The menu is fairly varied and the staff was open to special requests. It was great for a special meal before heading out to a show or gambling but if I were simply looking for a romanticdinner and then heading home, I would probably avoid restaurants in casinos."

  • "I don't know what we were expecting, but Jia did not live up to it. The food was subpar. I could easily have gotten the same at a less expensive restaurant. Our server was practically nonexistent for most of the meal. And, for the price I was expecting a higher-end dining experience, I guess. The flames and yelling coming from the hibachi were really distracting."

  • "Expected to be acknowledged as a reservation was made for a birthday and request for cup cake or like item but not even eye contact at front check in. I suppose Christmas Eve was a distraction. I expected a slower paced dinner for the price paid. Getting soup and salad at same time I felt like they wanted us to eat and move out. Crying infant (no, not a grinch) was distracting and unexpected at prices charged. Would consider paying more for fine dining but not too casual as advertised."

  • "This restaurant is inside the casino and so it catches some of the noise and smoke. It has a nice decor and the service was very good. The menu reflects a variety of Asian cultures, including Chinese , Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese although you cannot get much of the Vietnamese unless you sit in the "noodle section", which I think is ridiculous. The menu is not that extensive and you should be able to order anything and sit anywhere. Not everyone in your party will want the same kind of food and this restriction defeats the purpose. As you would expect the food is overpriced. This place has a nice variety of sake but some kinds were not available. It has a sushi bar. The steak and scallops were very good but not spectacular."

He was friendly, funny & very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was great. We live in the New Orleans area, so we know about good food & service & were very impressed."
