Iron Bridge Wine Company - ColumbiaIBWC is one of my favoritesIBWC is one of my favorite restaurants. We are fortunate to have it located in Howard County. The menu is interesting, especially with the offerings of small plates and starters in addition to entrees. The food is prepared with fresh ingredients and is always presented well. I enjoyed the salad with the luncheon quiche as well as the steamed mussels. Of course, the wines are interesting. The service is always very good!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't pass this "Bridge" upIron Bridge has proven itself again and again for my wife and I. Located right on Howard County's curving thoroughfare, route 108 and across from Clark's Elioak Farms. Iron Bridge has an extensive wine list, food that I can pronounce and actually eat. We celebrated Mother's Day with our 15 year old son. I definitely recommend this for special occasions and for a time when you want to move up from the usual Friday/Saturday dining options. You do not have to be dressed up but the staff looks great. Another great opportunity is that Iron Bridge produces a monthly wine list of bottle for sale. Typically $10 to $12 each. Terrific choices for any budget. We bought a case of reds from the May Wine list and received 20% off.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb, as usualHaving already reviewed Iron Bridge several times, I haven't much to add; but I'll mention that a continuing feature of their dessert menu is bread pudding, upon which they make frequent variations. This time it was "double chocolate" -- delectable.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome everything except the noiseThe food is incredible, and the staff is amazing. They are very knowledgable about their wine selection, the chef is creative, and his crew is awesome. We have never had a bad meal. What we have had is a bad romantic dining experience. Every. Single. Time. They need a different building/area for parties so those parties are separate from couples trying to enjoy a romantic evening. The lack of sound-dampening materials lets inebriated guests wax poetic their exuberance. For the menu, ambiance, and especially price: I would expect a more refined experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMOnce again an excellent meal,Once again an excellent meal, including both salads and a chicken entree as well as trout. The desert (strawberry-rhubarb crisp) was also delicious. The waitress was also very pleasant and helpful. We look forward to another meal in the near future.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous and imaginative food!Iron Bridge is always fabulous - the food is imaginative, flawless, a taste sensation and consistently excellent. We ar enever disappointed here - and the service is always exceptional as well. The menu changes frequently but every dish is incredibly creative and makes you want to beg for more. This is not to mention the wine selections which are without compare anywhere in Howard County. A Black Bass Ceviche the other night was to die for as was all the food we ate - far beyond exceptional. We love coming here and it is not to be missed if you love great food and/or wine. Brunch, lunch, dinner - they do it all in such a superior way. Amazing - best of all, consistently amazing!5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique restaurant in ColumbiaI went to Iron Bridge Wine Co. with a friend for lunch and it was lovely. Quiet, quaint atmosphere, excellent service and tasty food. I didn't try any of the more adventurous menu items, but my simple lunch was very well done. Our waiter was quite knowledgeable on the wine selections and helped me pick a nice glass after giving me several tastings. An unexpected find in Columbia!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite restaurant forMy favorite restaurant for a reason! Always a great time4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed our visitWe really enjoyed our visit at the Iron Bridge Company. The server is very nice. Food was excellent, esp. the Arugula salad. Portion size was just right (unlike the gigantic portions in chain restaurants.)4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding as always. ThisOutstanding as always. This is only our third visit since we live in North Carolina. Matches the best in our part of NC (Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFood combinations were well-plannedFood combinations were well-planned and presentations were very appetizing. My sirloin was cooked perfectly and my wife enjoyed her trout very much. The cabernet wine flight went perfectly with my steak. Desserts were outstanding. I had strawberry-rhubarb with peppercorn ice cream and wife had double chocolate mousse. Both desserts were matched with coffee choices of wife's decaf latte and my coffee with expresso shot. Service was fantastic; waiters were excellent at explaining choices since we were first-timers.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe like the wine flights optio,We like the wine flights optio, it gives you a chance to taste a larger number of wines without drinking too much. Also, we like the large variety of dishes- the pork cheeks, foie gra ravioli, and arugula salad are great. The food portions are a nice medium size for lunch. Too many restaurants serve large portions of food that is enough for 2 or more people.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a lovely brunch with myHad a lovely brunch with my daughter. Great food & service.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI had guests from North CarolinaI had guests from North Carolina who loved lunch so much on Friday that we returned on Saturday. Love the bar. Perfect in ever way. Great food and wine choices.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorite restaurants. We brought some discerning, foodie friends visiting from out of town to the restaurant, and Iron Bridge did not disappoint. We had a wonderful evening and a delicious meal. All of the salads and entrees were excellent, but the pork cheeks with the gnocchi was the hit of the night. Our waiter (wish I could remember his name), was a gem. The only slight drawback is that the restaurant is a little too loud for my preference. Still, despite that, highly recommended.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways awesome. A Maryland,Always awesome. A Maryland, and Howard County gem. We have never had a less than stellar meal. On top of that, their wine list is notable, and reasonable, and the staff are wonderful. Our hands down favorite restaurant.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite Place to DineIron Bridge remains my favorite place to dine in Howard County. The food is excellent quality and is local. I can't say enough great things about this place. The food and service are fantastic!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service. Food delish-Great service. Food delish- although a little more variety and less raw onions would be appreciated. Excellent wine choices. A little too noisy at this visit. We sat in a different area. Perhaps this is the reason. All in all, we look forward to our next visit.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friend and I went to IronMy friend and I went to Iron Bridge Wine Company on a friend's recommendation. It would have been a perfect night, were we not both vegetarians. I'm not a preachy veghead, and I suppose we could have called ahead and asked for some sort of special menu. No matter where you go these days it seems you can find at least 4 or 5 vegetarian options on the menu. However, as it was, there was one pasta entree to choose from. The meat menu looked diverse and sounded tasty! My friend and I had the cheese plate selection (lovely) and the brussels sprouts (wonderful), and then we left to get Indian food. Our waiter couldn't have been nicer, service was great. I would recommend this to non-vegetarians.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Vibes. Great food. The staff has a friendly demeanor. From the moment you walk in the door you are treated more like a friend than a patron. Great food, great wine. Great food from burgers on up.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was one of the finestThis was one of the finest meals we have ever had. The fois gras raviolis were outstanding, the lamb cooked perfectly, and a mesmerizing wine list. I would reccomend the restaurant to everyone.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome burgerIron Bridge hasn't had a burger on the dinner menu in years. When they did it, they did it right. The burgers we enjoyed were juicy and tasted divine. Maybe it had something to do with the house made BBQ sauce or the fried green tomato. Whatever it was, we loved it. It's a large burger, and the three in our party who enjoyed it heartily recommend it. If possible, get the lunch fries, which are outstanding. Iron bridge never disappoints!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always enjoy going to IronWe always enjoy going to Iron Bridge. The atmosphere is hip yet cozy at the same time. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and did not rush us. I highly recommend the Iron Bridge Wine Company whether for a special occasion or a casual lunch. You won't be disappointed.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA Favorite SpotOne of our favorites! Excellent food. Great and unusual wine list. Fair pricing. Friendly and personal service. They go out of their way to make this gluten free foodie happy.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFood & Service was outstanding.Food & Service was outstanding. The only negative was the couple at the table next to us should have been in a private room. (a little too romantic)3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen going here for yearsBeen going here for years and it is consistantly very good. Service sometimes is not top notch but never below adaquate.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden GemWho would have thought that this fine dining restaurant would be found in Columbia, MD. Friends suggested IBWC as our next monthly get together... we like to try restaurants of all kinds all over the area. IBWC is a small and intimate restaurant with an amazing wine list. This restaurant also has a small bar for locals and displays it's huge wine collection on the walls. This establishment is also a local wine store. The service is warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. All of our dishes were outstanding but I must say that the sousvide chicken was amazing! Tender, full of flavor with a crisp skin... I cant wait to go back for this.2/16/2013 12:00:00 AMReliable, as alwaysThe mussels were excellent, as usual; but the sauce in the ravioli lacked flavor. The kitchen is often too timid when it comes to spices. Wine prices are very good, especially when the corkage on wines in the restaurant's retail store are waived on Thursdays. The staff is no only efficient, but personable.2/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA very good value in all respectsThe food is consistently very good and reasonably priced. While the retail prices of the wines are somewhat higher than those of competitors, the policy of charging only a $10 corkage for bottles consumed in the restaurant makes the wine values the best in the area.1/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
