A word from IL Mito Enoteca
"IL MITO Enoteca was born from my passion for a local restaurant comparable to those I frequented in Italy - a comfortable home away from home, where you can sip a great glass of wine, complemented by an incredible, rustic Italian cuisine.

The Cuisine of an Enoteca is the simplest of Italian cuisines, made with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients that create amazing, complex rustic flavor combinations. Our Enoteca Style menu features homemade pastas, insalati (salads) Piatti Piccoli (small plates), Formaggi (cheeses), Bruschetta, Pizza and Secondi Rustica. It was created so that you may have a big meal with friends and family, or a light snack with your wine.

We at IL MITO Enoteca are grateful for your interest in our passion for food, friends, and life. We look forward to serving you soon and getting you addicted to an unforgettable experience!"

Diner Reviews
  • "The food was amazing. There was not a single bite left on the table. The first bite had me saying WOW. Our server was friendly and efficient. This was our 3rd troop here and we'll be back again and again."

  • " The salmon with Blackberry sauce and the Duck were better than average. I had the Rabbit with Gnocchi and was disappointed. The dish was a little bland and the portion was small. The small amount of rabbit that I received was tough and had bits of what I assume to be cartilage. I ordered the Puff Pastry with fruit. I received a square of pastry with some sort of tasteless fruit (jelly?) in the center. On the side were a couple of strawberry slices and some whipped cream. The pastry was tough and without a knife was close to impossible to eat. Although my friends enjoyed the meal and my wife was satisfied, I drew the short stick and it will be difficult for me to return."

  • "delish, but kinda price-y for 3 ravioli. Otherwise no complaints, nice to sit outside!"

  • "Very good experience. The service was a bit slow at first, but was otherwise good. The food was all good, but the main courses were fantastic. A short but solid wine list that is very reasonably priced was nice to see as well."

  • "Enjoyed our selection of foods, lasagna, the Antipasto Misto plate with Spanish Manchengo, Gorgonzola and Brie cheese. We enjoyed our meal on a Sunday night and the evening was very low key with great attention from wait staff and very tasty food. The lasagna tasted similar to my Great Italian Aunt's and I tasted the rack of lamb which as perfect tenderness with a wonderful saucey taste."

  • "We had another excellent dining experience at IL Mito in Tosa. Service was outstanding and food to match."

  • "We brought our young adult children to your establishment and were very pleased with the attentive service and quality of the food. We even had room for dessert which says a lot about the nice portion sizes of the dinner. The presentation of the food was exquisite and the ability to split salads and dessert was much appreciated. Bravo to the Chef, for a job well done!"

  • "We arrived at 7:02 for our 7:00 reservation and were asked to sit at the bar. We were there for 18 minutes before the bartender came to us. Immediately upon ordering our drink we were seated at the table outside which we had requested and which had been open since our arrival 20 minutes prior. The server was also very slow. It took another 15 minutes to get the drinks we ordered from the bar. No complaints about the food - it was delicious. However the wait for a table that was ready as well as the wait for service and the rather dismissive attitude from the bartender leaves me wondering if we should go back again. Hopefully it was just a fluke."

  • "Saturdays are pretty busy, so wait staff seemed a little rushed, not too attentive, but food, wine and personal attention by "The Chef" himself, Michael Feker made up for a lot."

  • "Our first time dining at Il Mito- but won't be the last! The Bartender and atmosphere were both great- and our out of the way table was perfect. Our waitstaff was attentative without being overbearing. And the food- the bread was to die for- my husband had the Special which was duck with a fruit reduction that was fabulous- I had the crab stuffed raviolie which was also very good. Highly recommend this Gem of a restaurant!"

  • "We were here for the Father's Day brunch (from the menu, no buffet - a plus). Something for everyone including the vegetarian and a kids menu entree that filled up a 12-year-old. And a Bloody Mary bar made for dads! This was our first time here - we'll be back."

  • "I took my father out for brunch knowing that he doesn't typically like new places to eat. He loved it! He was very impressed by the food choices and how incredible the meal was. He has even offered to take me back out there again for dinner. The waiter was very patient with my dad and even gave him suggestions for dinner when we come back."

  • "It doesn't matter how many times we come to Il Mito, everytime the food is wonderful. There is nothing bad on the menu. Whether it is just my husband and myself or we come with friends we have a great time. The wait staff is professional, knows the menu, has a good sense of humor and take excellent care of us time and time again."

  • "I have heard about this restaurant for a couple years, and we went for a birthday party dinner in May. We were so impressed with the food and service, we went back for our fifth wedding anniversary three weeks afterwards. Staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions, prices are reasonable, and the quality of food is amazing! They also have a space next door for cooking lessons, which I am going to definitely do. Two visits so feel, but it's become my favorite Italian food in the city. Goodbye Maggianos! "

  • "We went on a Thursday evening for our anniversary. Liked the ambiance and décor. Server was great. Made very good recommendations and was helpful with the menu. We started with stuffed mushrooms- small but very tasty. Wine was awesome, as were both dishes we ordered. We had the lasagna and a pasta special, which was fettuccini with shrimp and spinach. Even though we were stuffed, we shared a crème brulee, which was one of the best we've had. Very close to Lake Park Bistro's in my opinion. We'll be back. "

  • "Only one server at 12 noon on a friday- felt bad for the guy- had 6 tables gong at one time. Recently ate at Il Mito East for Mothers Day- while the food was good they must also work understaffed. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and while there were empty table they made us sit at the bar til the exact time of our reservation. "

  • "My daughter and I took my mother here for dinner during our recent visit to Milwaukee. All of our entrees, Osso Buco, Lamb Shank and Spaghetti Bolognese, were delicious and well presented. The only disappointment was the Caesar Salad, which was served as a wedge of romaine with a bland dressing. It should have been tossed and could have been dressed with more flavor."

  • "From the hostess to the bus boy to the server, the service was outstanding. They were all very nice, very professional and appeared to really enjoy their jobs. The server made good recommendations on the food and the food was very good as well. The pricing was not bad either considering the type of restaurant it is. So all in all, it was a great experience. The only thing "not great" was how close the tables are and the noise. I went on a Saturday at 5:45pm and the restaurant was half full and it was noisy. With the tables maybe separated by 2 feet, you may be talking with the person you are with, but you clearly hear the person next to you which is annoying. They need to maximize revenue in a small place, so I get it, but it was loud."

  • "We chose to celebrate Mother's Day at Il Mito Wauwatosa and were very happy with our experience. I was hesitant at first as I have children who are 6 and 15. I'd eaten there before with adults and loved it, but was unsure how the kids would fare. There is no 'kids menu' per se, so I asked the waitress for her recommendation for them. She said kids often ate noodles with a red or white sauce. As it happened, my kids ordered the spaghetti Bolognese, and a margarita pizza, and loved both. My 6 year old said the spaghetti was better than mine. (!) They also had crayons and a very sweet Mother's Day printout for them, which I had them sign and I saved. My lamb (one of the specials of the day) was amazing, BTW, as was the house Merlot."

  • "I was joined by my sister and parents for mother's day. We all had a wonderful time, and the food was amazing. Our server was very helpful and did the perfect amount of checking in on us and making recommendations. One of the best experiences I've had at the restaurant yet. Definitely going back!"

  • "My wife and I continue to make iL Mito our "go to" place for date night, and it never disappoints. The food is delicious and varied, the wine list is small but workable and the service is outstanding. We love the fresh bread and olive oil before the entrees and always enjoy the "mista" salad with our dinner. We also make a point of arriving at least a half hour before our reservations to have a glass of wine at the bar and enjoy the atmosphere. GREAT local gem."

  • "Ambience is great. Didn't love the food. I feel like the food here is really hit and miss. We have been twice the first time I loved my dish and my husband did not enjoy his. The second time My husband enjoyed his food but nothing to rave over and I really did not like my food. I ordered the tortellini. Since our experiences have been different we are unsure if we will return."

  • "We took friends to the restaurant as a thank you for dog sitting. Terribly dissapointed. We waited 25 mins past our reservation time to be seated, waited again for our server, drinks slow to arrive, had to ask about appetizer because it didn't come. Food was okay but nothing to rave about. Won't be going back. Maybe we'd feel differently had they acknowledged the terrible service but it seemed to go unnoticed. Does that mean it's always that bad? We won't be finding out."
