The Cuisine of an Enoteca is the simplest of Italian cuisines, made with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients that create amazing, complex rustic flavor combinations. Our Enoteca Style menu features homemade pastas, insalati (salads) Piatti Piccoli (small plates), Formaggi (cheeses), Bruschetta, Pizza and Secondi Rustica.   • "There were only about four tables occupied but service was slow. We arrived at one and left at two thirty. We started with fried mozzarella. It came with pesto & red sauce. The red sauce was excellence. There were small chunks of tomatoes w/a hint of basil. I could have eaten an entire bowl of that. The mozzarella was a little greasy. I think it just needed to be drained a little more. Next, we had tomato basil soup. They have the best tomato basil soup I have ever eaten. It was soup & not bisque. My brother and daughter order lasagna. Excellent! I ordered crab ravioli with shrimp. The shrimp were cooked perfect. Nice & juicy. But the ravioli tasted old. And the breaded fried onions on top gave the dish an old greasy taste."

  • "The food was terrific and our server was beyond outstanding! We were seated directly in front of the bar, and that area was very cramped. I could have literally reached over to the table next to me and taken a bite of the lady's food we were that close together. I kind of wish we could have been seated elsewhere (if there was anywhere else), but it worked."

  • "We've dinned at Il Mito in the past, enjoyed the food, & the service has been so friendly. This time the hostess was rude, barely acknowledged us as we came in, and then proceeded to sit us right next to another couple even though other tables were available. However, our server, Stacy, was completely friendly and more than made up for the hostess. She was patient, knew the menu well, and raved about her favorites (complimenting us on our choices afterwards too!) The food, as always, was outstanding. My only concern is that for couples dining out, the space can be really tight - waitstaff has to squeeze between the tables to the point of their backsides getting dangerously close to our drinks."

  • "Nice neighborhood-oriented place. Appetizers and entrees were excellent. My wife and I split a pear puff pastry for dessert that was a bit of a disappointment, but still pretty good. The duck breast entree was perfectly done with a great sauce that went well with the flavor of the duck. The lamb shank was done with some spices that added just a little "kick" to it, and tasted great. Service was attentive and the hostess was also paying attention to each table to make sure everything was handled well."

  • "I had my sister and brother-in-law visiting from Va.. They lived in Italy for a couple of years and obviously loved the food there. We've been to many "Italian" restaurants both here and Va. Beach, and I believe we enjoyed Il Mito as much as any place we've been. The food and service were outstanding. John was our lead waiter, but, what we liked was all the others would pitch in when needed to keep everything moving smoothly. We will visit every time they visit, and I will drop in on occasion myself."

  • "We dined at Il Mito for a birthday and were glad we chose to celebrate there! The food was exceptional and the staff were welcoming + attentive. Our table was located in the area where Chef Feker teaches cooking classes. The main dining room seemed on the loud side, but the demonstration kitchen was quiet and intimate. I asked for the gluten-free menu and was not disappointed with the options or the assurances from staff that they treat GF requests very seriously. (I don't have celiac disease but do have an auto-immune disorder that is much better controlled when I avoid wheat/gluten.) The food was delicious. We are now very tempted to sign up for one of the offered cooking classes!"

  • "Some of the most flavorful food my wife and I have ever tasted. The spaghetti bolognese was tastey with just the right amount of spice. The Margarita pizza with the whole leaf fresh basil. Besides being my wife's favorite kind of pizza, now, Il Mito margarita pizza has captured her heart. Even the bread and oil with roasted garlic was a sensation. We can't wait to try the east side location."

  • "Reservations are necessary. Hearing every word of our neighbors' conversations took away from the romantic ambiance. Our waitress was very friendly. We started with the crimini arrostito which had a rich, savory taste. I wanted to drink the left over tomato sauce. There were six small mushrooms in the order. Herbed bread was good. My husband had the gnocchi con coniglio, I had the risotto con carciofi. The coniglio was very savory and all the flavors balanced nicely. My risotto had a milder taste but was still very rich. The crackling added a nice texture contrast and the flavor complemented very well. For dessert, my husband got the pear sorbet - not great but good. I had the chocolate hazelnut torte and LOVED it."

  • "Went for a date night and had a lovely time. Was seated right behind the Chef giving a class so got to listen to him for free (a fun bonus) and now will probably go back for his class. Looked like a lot of fun! Food was great, lots of interested items to choose from. I had the rabbit gnocchi and my boyfriend had the duck. Both delicious. Creme brulee for dessert was also very very good! Can't wait to go back. Waiter was OK, could have been a bit more attentive but was not horrible by any stretch of the imagination."

I had the dinner special of beef spare ribs and my wife had gluten free pasta and seafood. We both enjoyed our meal and the cost was not above normal prices. Parking is a challenge."

  • "A pleasant dining experience. The Potato-Asparagus soup was delicious. The vegetable panini I ordered was enough to take home half and my friend's Caesar Salad with chicken was a good portion. We were dining in February and were seated near the front of the room so that, when the door opened, it was chilly. Attentive service, maybe too many visits to the table to see if everything was fine, but a very pleasant wait staff. I would visit again and recommenid Il Mito to others."

They sat me at a high-top table in the bar with a view across the restaurant. The place was busy but not overly loud. The service was incredible and the food...exceptional! I can't recommend this place highly enough if you like good food, good wine and a great atmosphere. Enjoy!"

  • "I haven't been in a while and now I'm wondering why. First of all, the server was fantastic. He picked up on the fact that we were in no hurry and allowed us time to talk and review the menu. He was prompt with our wine yet was relaxed with our order time. He was attentive but not overbearing. Once we ordered, the meal arrived in a nice amount of time and was delicious. We ordered the Tortaloni and the Chicken with Gnocki. Portion size was perfect. In today's dating world, a meeting place can make all the difference. It was the best choice I had made in a very long time!"
