Il Fornaio - RosevilleIt was our first time andIt was our first time and we were presented with a complimentary appetizer and the manager came right over introduced herself and made us feel very comfortable. The waitress asked us what if any was the occasion we were there, My husband did not want to let her know so he just said" life" she looked at me and I had to spill the beans we were celebrating our 26 th wedding anniversary.. She was so nice and just left us alone came over to fill our glasses with the awesome bottle of wine we chose. And for Mothers Day it is exceptional. Pretty inside and in the covered patio area, and the wait staff is prompt and caring. They also had a special Brunch menu that was lovely and affordable. We enjoyed a glass of wine from a nice list of options, and the food menu is extensive. Nice desserts as well. My girlfriend and I went there for a just-because occasion and had a great date-night. Sat near the kitchen and was not overwhelmed by activity or the heat from grills/ovens/etc. I enjoyed my seared tenderloin with a carpaccio appetizer while my gf loved her butternut squash ravioli with an app of bruschetta. As always, the menu offered dishes from various regions of Italy with wines to match. Prices are commensurate with quality. We've never been disappointed with this restaurant when it comes to food and service. This time we made the mistake of booking the night before Mother's Day and apparently lots of other people had the same idea, so the place was jumping. Since we came back in 2008 we have been looking for an authentic Italian Ristorante. Driving by The Galleria, I saw this restaurant and decided to make reservations with some friends for my birthday. Arriving at Il Fornaio it looked very nice and to my surprise, they were offering a special menu from the area of Pulia. This area is the state next to Campania, where Naples is. The items on the menu were very close to Neopolitan menus! The food was great and the wine (from Pulia) was great! Now I have an authentic Italian Ristorante that I can eat at! It turned out great. The ambience was perfect, we shared a nice bottle of wine and the waiter gave us just the right amount of attention without interrupting us too much. Although neither one of us finished our food, the food was great; even on the following day. Lol. We are going on our second date tonight! Beautiful decor with high ceilings, tall curtains and lovely tables. Easily a sophisticated and romantic setting. Great wine list and Excellent Service! I only marked the food between good to great only because the chicken dish I had was a little too spicy. Still quite flavorful and worth enjoying. There were several large groups and even a party on the patio outside yet there was not a lot of noise. There was a bridal shower outside, but they were at the other end of the patio so the traffic was nil by us. It was very pleasant. The noise level was okay. We could hear each other's conversations in a normal tone. We spent 3-1/2 hours and the service was very attentive. Our table was in the curtained area by the front entrance to the restaurant. The waiter was superb. He waited on us hand and foot. A little too loud when we arrived. At that hour there were still a few shoppers with children eating. Things did quiet down some after about an hour. Being as it in such close proximity to the mall, shoppers in shorts and sweat shirts were eating also. A later seating would be more appropriate for some. Overall a good experience, this is the third year in a row for our anniversary, but we may try some where else next year.
