  • "This is usually very good. However, this is the second holiday fail. Our whole section was waiting for food for a LONG time. When our food finally came, I didn't get what I ordered and the food was cold. I wasn't going to wait another hour. Our wait person took care of us. Comping us a drink and a dessert. The kitchen was way off though... This was Easter. We had one bad meal on a Thanksgiving once too. Normally we have great meal here. My conclusion is that they don't know how to do holidays... "

  • "I ordered the white bean soup. It had soggy vegetables (esp the potatoes, were water-logged), virtually no flavor, and the beans, oddly enough were a touch undercooked. Very strange. The carpaccio was Very good, I like the greens and the meat was paper thin, very nice. Dining mates had IDENTICAL pasta dishes, but they looked entirely different, for reasons we could not figure out. Bread was good. All in all, very overpriced for the quality of food. Not returning."

  • "For some reason this restaurant was not up to my expectations last night. I had a business meeting here and I was disappointed in our server and service. We met for dinner at a quiet, slow time 4:45pm. Our server would not look at us when she would speak, her white overcoat was very dirty. She wasn't very accommodating to us on what we wanted. My Margarita was served in a root beer float mug, why? Service was very slow although they were not busy. I liked their food, but they need to step up their service skills."

  • "Took my Step Mom there for the first time and it could not have been better. Ravioli's, seafood, chicken and salmon all prepared perfectly. It was a birthday celebration and wanted to take her to a very special place and it met out expectations. They had never been but we have gone to several locations and it is always consistently good."

Her Cappellacci di Zucca was perfect .... as she expected it would be ..... and just as good the next day for lunch. My Penne Mare, a twist on the Grigliata di Pesce Misto was a bold move from my meat and potato mentality, and it was delicious. Il Fornia white wines were good with the meals. Not impressed at all with the Southern Comfort Old Fashions ..... We decided that we wouldn't order cocktails there again... All Staff Were Verrrrrry Gooood and made our visit most pleasurable....."

  • "Party of 5 for my daughter's 24th Birthday. The Italian waiter was impeccable and friendly. Dinner was very good, lots of good choices. Desert was so excellent!!!!!! We we first seated inside, but too close to the kitchen and the busy place where waiter's pick up the food. It wasn't real busy yet, but you could tell it would be distracting. The hostess changed us to an outside table and I am so glad. The outside is covered and much less noisy. We had a wonderful meal."

  • "We had made reservations on Open table at 6:30pm on Saturday 3/8/14 then changed the reservation to 7pm as it was showing as available. We arrived at the restaurant a few minutes before 7pm. We had to wait 25 minutes before we were seated. It was busy at the restaurant, but to have to wait 25 minutes was too long! Then it took another 20 minutes before we saw our server. The noice level was pretty loud in the restaurant, but we were seated in the back. My wife ordered a pasta dish for the primi with mussels and the beard was left on the mussel!!! OMG! Disappointing. We complained and the waitress who was kind enough to at least give us a free desert. However, a little disapponted by a very well established restaurant."

  • "The restaurant was busy, but we got seated within a few minutes. The Lasagna Ferrarese was very good. The Conchiglie al Pollo and the Minestrone di Verdure were ok, but not great. The seating wasn't very private. You were seated close to other diners. The one thing that was outstanding was the service. Always refilling you drinks, bringing extra bread, always asking how you're doing and if you needed anything. The Dolce Trio dessert was also very good."

Would I recommend this restaurant to a friend? Yes, but with a reservation regarding the food. Our visit may gave been on an "off day" in the kitchen. It will be a while before we go back. Il Fiornaio recently ranked #1 out of 362 restaurants in Roseville. For food, I would rank two others above it: La Huaca and Thai Basil."

  • "This WAS one of my favorite restaurants for years. Great Anti-Pasta appetizer, good service, good food, but something has gone terribly wrong. The service was really slow. We ordered drinks and 15 minutes later they still had not arrived. We ordered the Anti Pasta for $16 and it was very small and not particularly great tasting. My companion ordered the Cannelloni and 20 minutes later the server came by to tell us they were out of that and to re order. The Caprese Salad was a small tomato cut in two warmed on a grill and a cube of cheese placed on top. I had Veal Scallapini and it was good and the wine was good. But for $175 dollars the meal and experience. was a poor value."

My last visit on Valentine’s Day was totally unplanned but Open Table and Il Fornaio came through. I had reservations at Crush 29 but arriving there was a huge let down so I scrambled for my tried and true favorite place. Il Fornaio came through in flying colors, from the time my fiancé and I arrived until we departed Il Fornaio impressed. In my opinion this is the best restaurant in Roseville. I would recommend Il Fornaio to the most discerning to the laissez-faire. Great wine list as well! I will return!"

  • "Went with high expectations based on another friend's recommendation. Our server, Jen, was courteous, helpful, and very attentive throughout the meal. We were a bit disappointed in our seating arrangements on the covered patio next to an open portion of the roof/windows that allowed cold, damp air to blow in on our table. It was raining that evening which made it very uncomfortable. Once the roof-mounted space heaters were turned on it became a bit more comfortable. The food was good but not great. The pasta was hand made but was clumped together and a bit tough although the flavor was good. Overall it was a fair experience but not one that left me wanting for more."
