  • "Unfortunately our dinner at Il Fornaio at New York New York was less than memorable. We have eaten at Il Fornaio in San Diego and Los Angeles and had very good experiences, but not this time. We felt like we were being rushed. We ordered drinks and then dinner and each course came so quickly we were out of the restaurant in less than an hour. The Caesar Salad was one of the worst we have had. It tasted like lettuce with oil. My husband ordered a gin on the rocks and the glass was tiny, filled up to the top with ice and had almost no gin. The drink cost ten dollars. The main courses were adequate but nothing wonderful. Generally it was very mediocre and I would not go back."

The carpaccio was exquisite, the main courses delicious, and the deserts wonderful. Italian cuisine is my favorite, and Il Fornaio ranks near the top of all the Italian restaurants I have visited, including many in Rome."

  • "The carpaccio appetizer and first round of martinis were perfect. After that, it fell apart. The waiter mentioned that they expected to be busier on a Friday, and had many staff waiting for customers. The entrees were pasta and mussels/clams, and another shrimp and pasta dish. The pasta for both dishes was so overcooked, it was not really edible. The seafood on both dishes was also overcooked, and ruined. The second round of martinis/cosmos were so acidic that it was like drinking lime juice. The waiter was nice, although bordering on aloof. He took the cosmos back to the bar and had them add cranberry to fix them- what about remaking them? What a waste- so much promise and a real disappointing bomb, especially considering the price."

  • "We really wanted to like Il Fornaio, but found that hard. Both of our entrees lacked seasoning and were fairly bland. The pasta with tomato basil sauce lacked basil. The tube pasta with cream sauce had gloppy, tasteless cream that seemed like it came from a pre-mixed can. We didn't opt for dessert. Our server, while personable, seemed overwhelmed by the number of tables he had. Service was slow. Overall, not a great value."

  • "This was a great place located in the New York Casino - beautiful and classy inside. The food was very good. Very classy place!! My Ravioli Di Magro - the spiciness to was a great twist on flavors, paired well with my St. Michelle's Moscato glass of wine. (sweet and spicy) - My husband ordered the Lasagna Ferrarese, it was wonderful. You may want to dress up a bit. Trust me this place will make you feel as if you spent 200.00 but our great dinner was just under 50.00 for the two of us. You wont be disappointed here. - Thank you Il Fornaio - Las Vegas for a great time!"

  • "I came here on Valentine's Day and the main issue was the ambiance and the service. Nothing was BAD. It was very loud, and the tables were very close together so it was awkward having to kind of yell to talk to the person across from you but then you didn't want to be too loud as to not be annoying to the people sitting a foot away from you. It took a little too long for the food to come out, our waitress did seem to disappear a little bit throughout the night, and the food was just alright, not bad but not like omg that was so good. You could also tell the servers were trying to turn over their tables as quick as possible. If you're looking for something fancy this isn't the place to go. If you're okay with casual atmosphere then its good."

Well, we had dinner reservations to celebrate my Birthday and the food was exquisite. Also, the service was impeccable. I was beyond satisfied and my best friend thought so too! I frequest the IL Fornaio restaurant in Sacramento @ the West Fargo Tower, since, I work across the street from there. I would recommend it to my friends and family. Thank you for making it so special for my Birthday."

I usually love this restaurant and the food but for some reason this particular night was not good. I will never eat here again on NYE, it just wasn't good. But I will definitely go back on a regular night where the menu is back to normal."

  • "My boyfriend and I made a reservation here for New Years Eve. Apparently they have a separate, smaller section for large private parties which we approached first thinking it was the restaurant. We stood there for several minutes at the entrance and not a single person acknowledged us even though it was clear they saw us standing there. Finally my boyfriend went and told one of the managers that we had a reservation and he guided us to the location next door. After that the evening went much smoother. Our server was wonderful and we were given a spot on the patio which was highly entertaining on New Years Eve as you can imagine. The food was good, but nothing to write home about."

Since it's located inside New York New York hotel, just off the casino, the noise was slightly annoying, but not bad. We sat on the patio because inside was all booths - difficult for groups. One of my friends, a real foodie, found a mixed seafood dish and some wine that she truly loved."

  • "We had an excellent evening at Il Fornaio. We visit Las Vegas 1-2 times per year and dine there each time we visit. The food and service was excellent. It wasn't very busy the night we were there but it was a slow time in Las Vegas (the week before Christmas). Our server was friendly and the food was excellent. We will return again and again as we always do. Great food. Great Job by the staff."

The prices are not upscale Vegas which is a refreshing change. Best value by far. Despite the many choices for dining I will plan to patronize il Fornaio any time I'm in Las Vegas."

  • "Very glad I booked with Open Table. Myself and 6 friends were very hungry. Upon our arrival at New York, New York I noticed a long line of people (50+) waiting for a table to get into the restaurant. I walked up to the hostess, told her my name and reservation time and was seated immediately. Thank goodness for Open Table! The food was fabulous and our waiter was very attentive, without being overbearing. Great pacing throughout the meal. The pasta was amazing and the wine was tasty. Very good choice for someone about to run a half marathon the next day."
