Diner Reviews
  • "Overall experience was good. I loved the classy atmosphere and decor inside. Our waiter was attentive and service was on point. The III forks salad was overdressed so the mixed greens were slightly soggy. However, the dressing was tasty. The steak was a bit tough and needed more seasoning but the lobster tail was sweet and juicy. The best part of the meal was the chocolate ganache cake. It had just the right amount of sweetness and was divine. Totally chocolate wasted after that!"

  • "I've been wanting to try III Forks since seeing the Dallas location. We visited during Houston Restaurant Weeks. Service was excellent. They were responsive to our allergy issues. Salad was great. Lobster was tender. Unfortunately, the steak was very disappointing. It was served well done, when ordered medium well. Granted, I didn't mention it (I never send food back), but you'd expect a fine dining steakhouse to get the temperature right. It was also tough and flavorless. Perry's and the Strip House have much better steaks. I'd go back for the salad, though. Yum!!"

  • "I came here as part of a group of 7 trying out III Forks' Restaurant Weeks menu. We all had a seafood medley appetizer (in addition to the HRW menu) that was excellent. Definitely worth ordering again. For my three courses I had the Lobster Bisque, the London Broil with Lobster tail, and the Chocolate Ganache cake. The bisque tasted great, but I thought it was a little thick. The steak had a tasty mustard crust and was cooked to order (medium-rare) and the Canadian lobster tail was sweet and succulent. The chocolate ganache was rich without being overly heavy."

  • "Great wine selections for my wife. Waiter made a couple selections for our table and everything was great. Ribeye delicious and III Forks salad was great. Also chocolate cake was superb!"

  • "With the new GreenStreet revitalization complete, III Forks stands out as an upscale restaurant in the area. Great place for a business lunch downtown or an evening date. The staff and service were superb, really added to the ambiance. I had the steak and my friend had the salmon off the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu: both dishes and the accompanying salads were tasty, fresh, and well-prepared. I will definitely consider coming back here again soon."

  • "The tables are too close together for an initimate conversation. The waiters was not as attentive as I believe he should have been at a restaurant of that caliber. Morton's was a lot nicer."

  • "After hearing on the radio that III Fork treated their HRW patrons very well, we went Monday. Unfortunately, I felt the staff was going through the motions without really listening to us. Everyone was professional but You decide if it's good service.. The three of us ordered different entrees and desserts. They mixed my plate with my sister. Not a big deal. When he asked to boxed our leftovers, my friend and I said yes but not my sister. They boxed all three of our leftovers. Then we got our desserts but now all the desserts were misplaced. Once again, not a big deal. I wanted my untouched cake boxed but the waiter didn't. I wasn't snubbed but I didn't feel valued either. Also overhead staff talking poorly off HRW patrons."

  • "My husband and I decided to try III Forks for the first time. We arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation and our table was waiting on us. All of the staff were very friendly and service was excellent. Everything was simply perfect. We dined in on the Houston Restauraunt Week menu. We both had the Caesar Salad, Roasted Chicken and Lemon Tart/Strawberry Shortcake for dessert. We will definitely be attending again."

  • "We dined at III Forks during Houston Restaurant Week and were impressed with the service and food. Their apple salad was excellent as was the lobster and lemon tart. The fish was perfectly cooked, but the steak (London Broil) was the the least favorite part of our meals. I would give another type of steak a try during my next visit though. We received great service...as if we were there on a several hundred dollar splurge instead of enjoying the value-priced restaurant week menu. This was not the case at another restaurant we visited for the Restaurant Week special III Forks is large and has several very nice dining rooms."

  • "We decided to give III Forks a try during HRW. And while we had a perfectly serviceable meal, there was nothing about it that would cause us to return with Vic & Anthony's and Morton's in the same area. We probably liked the mustard crusted London Broil as good as anything we had that night--I was a little surprised that it's not available on the regular dinner menu. The strawberry shortcake--at least my serving--was very dry."

  • "We were celebrating my boyfriend's 42nd birthday. The restaurant staff made us feel welcome from the beginning. The food was good but the service was outstanding. The ambience was great. We were able to have a conversation and hear each other. Love it. We will be back."

  • "food was great server was off his game and we sat for 10 mins before he came by and he tried to talk us out of the restaurant week choices. Had to ask for refills etc. Just seemed like he'd rather be somewhere else but serving us."

  • "My husband and I dined here tonight. We dined from the Restaurant Week Menu. We both had the Lobster bisque, which was tasty, but not hot. Both of us had the surf and turf, which was very good. The lobster was perfectly cooked, as was the steak. We chose the strawberry shortcake for dessert, which was fine. I could not fully enjoy it though, because I was full. We had wine, great choices. Our server Renee was good. She worked well, as did everyone else (seemingly). It got very busy as the evening progressed and all of the tables got filled. I recommend III Forks."

  • "I ate here for my 30th birthday with some friends recently. The food and the service were better than I could ever ask for. The surf and turf is great, as well as the lobster bisque.I will return for round 2 with my Fiance next weekend. :-)"

  • "my wife took me here for my birthday the food was okay but not great for the price. I ordered the London Broil with a lobster tail it was tough and the lobster tail was not good my kids order chicken strips with fries. the chicken was not seasoned and tasted bland. My wife ordered the red fish and it was dry and she had to return it. For the price of the meal the food was not great I would recommend Vic & Anthony or Brenners on the Bayou. I would not be returning to this restaurant for dinner maybe I will try for lunch."

  • "All was very good except the food needed to be the way we ordered it. My friend ordered his meat well done and got it medium rare. I ordered my meat medium rare and got it raw."

  • "Royce was an excellent server. The filets were outstanding, perfectly cooked. Royce recommended Davis Family Pinot Noir, scallop appetizer and III Forks salad. We took all his recommendations and were not disappointed - all were perfect."

  • "Our dinner was delicious- everything was cooked to perfection. The waiter was very knowledgeable and could explain everything on the menu in detail, including the off-menu specials. The manager checked in on us more than once, and helped make our celebratory dinner extra special. The atmosphere was elegant, modern, and clean. It was our second time to dine at III Forks, and we were a little worried it would not live up to our outstanding memory of our previous visit! However, it was equally as delicious if not more so."

  • "Not my first time at a 111 Forks. But the consistent service and quality of the food and wine selection is 2nd to none. Great atmosphere, not too loud but energizing. Always my go to for a great steak."

  • "Filets were wonderful. Ceasar salad was nothing special. Place was very busy on a Friday night, very noisy."

  • "The service was HORRIBLE! Our appetizers (crab cakes and salad) came out almost right before dinner came out. We hardly saw our waiter! Our food took so long we missed the opening of our concert. We were there for 2 hours. Steak and crab was good. Also lobster Mac and cheese was good but everything else was regular"

  • "Great week night dinner with four work colleagues ! Excellent food and even better service...particularly when our entrees came....they could not swarm us fast enough to assure sides were served quickly. My only improvement would be with the wine list....lots of labels I've never seen, and the cabs could be of better value."

  • "I originally made a reservation for six and I ended up having seven people. The staff accommodated my party and sat us in the captain's room. It was a great atmosphere with great food and service. I highly recommend for business lunches with clients."

  • "We were very disappointed in the service- and it seemed like all the staff left. I had to ask for more wine and the waiter was not polite....I shall dine at the Glass Wall- my favorite."

  • "I was very impressed with the food here, and the service was amazing. My first visit here and I will definitely come back. I had the lamb chops which came with 4 large pieces(I could only finish 2). My wife had the 22 oz boneless prime rib eye(medium). Steak was amazing, I enjoyed the lamb but it did have a slight bit tinge of Dijon mustard taste. So if you don't enjoy mustard, don't get the lamb chips. I didn't really care of the 2 appetizers we got which was the crab cake and the calamari strips. Desert was really good, cheesecake and chocolate cake. Overall had a good experience."

  • "I've been to III Forks on many occaisions as it is well suited for business lunches or dinners, and typically, the food is great. This time, the food disappointed. I ordered a NY Strip - medium rare. I was quoted the standard description by the waitress: red and warm inside...yes, perfect, I replied. Steak came medium-well (brown and light pink)... Waitress immediately apolopgized and ordered another steak...my colleagues enjoyed their meals while I waited for my food to arrive. Unfortunaltely, the second piece came red and cold inside...not the best performance for the kitchen which is usually top notch."

  • "Our only experience there was that the food and service were very good. The hostess was little persnickety and refused to seat us in the large quiet (and nearly empty) dining room and instead sat us in the bar area, despite reservation. The dining room remained empty for the entire time we were there. Our server was friendly and helpful with menu selections. The food was very good. They need a dress code in this price range. I was with my wife in business casual and we sat next to a large beast with his belly bulging out his shirt, in shorts and flip-flops."

  • "Truly enjoyed our meal at III Forks and the service was acceptional. (Thanks Jerry for a very enjoyable evening) The III Forks salad was the best salad I've ever had. The lobster mac and cheese was to die for!!!! The pork chop was so moist and tender. I can't give a review on the dessert, because we were too full!!! Loved it all. ;)"

  • "Great steaks and service. The sides to share were marginal in my opinion. Plenty to share but the hash and mac and cheese were nothing special (I expected more); asparagus was fresh and perfectly grilled. Very attentive and friendly wait staff! Consider your mother's mac and cheese recipe and drop the shells for traditional macaroni. I also see hash in a different light, as it was rather syrupy, which I do not expect when I order hash. It was more like candied yams, cut into small pieces than a true hash."

  • "Well-priced, well-prepared filet mignon with the best baked potato ever! Excellent appetizer of mozzarella and tomato that they kindly split in the kitchen. I always appreciate that little touch. Wines by the glass were sensational! We went early on a Friday night and had the place to ourselves so service was excellent. The decor is a bit "manly" but, heck, it's a steakhouse so what did I expect?"
