Diner Reviews
  • "I hosted a dinner party here, that included 10 people. The waiterstaff was very attentive and helpful, including providing recommendations for hors d'overs and our meal. Althoguh we went with a standard Pinot Noir, the wine selection was broad. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal and desserts."

  • "I took my boyfriend to III Forks last year for his birthday, and he enjoyed it so much that I had to bring him back this year. The bread is fantastic-fresh out of the oven, warm, and unbelievably soft. The bone-in ribeye is fantastic. It's always cooked to perfection. I got the scallops, which were cooked in a buttery lemon sauce and was simply superb. Cocktails were also good. And at the end of the meal, they brought out the six-layer chocolate cake, which was heavenly. Our waitress was attentive and courteous, and I never found myself low on my drink. We're college students, so this place is usually a little out of our budgets, but it's well worth the price."

  • "One of the best things about attending a convention in Houston is having dinner at III Forks! In the many years we have enjoyed this restaurant, it has never gotten old, merely gotten better. Many thanks to the staff and management for providing us another outstanding dinner with clients and friends."

  • "Place has no atmosphere. Worn out tables. Service is ok at best. Expensive and not worth the price."

  • "My wife and I came for the first time and will come again. We drove about 45 minutes away to rockets game and decided to eat at III forks using open table review and reservation openings as our decision. Wow was it amazing. From the beginning the hostess greeted us promptly and even sat us early since we arrived early. Our waiter was outstanding and recommended the bone in filet along with several sides. Every aspect of dinner from the appetizer to steak was outsanding. Our only small complaint actually had to do with management. They came by to see how we were doing and we ordered more wine from manager. He forgot! when we asked waiter 10 min later it was remedied but manager never came by to apologize for his mistake."

  • "Comfortable setting and cnvenient to downtown clients. Hostesses are young, empty-eyed girls who seem shocked at questions or seating preferences. Waiters hover, interrupt and try to up sell. Food is okay. It is a businss place and designed for expense accounts. I would not take a date or friend here as it is just not special in any way."

  • "Tough and overcooked...asked for medium and received well done. Burger was extremely dense and poorly seasoned. Big disappointment."

  • "Our table was strangeley placed near the entrance and seemed to create a lot of traffic jams for the servers and made us feel in the way. Also, our table was so big for 6 people and the noise level was quite high so we couldn't hear eachother on opposite ends. Despite the poor table setup/layout, the rest of the dining experience was fantastic and the food was amazing."

  • "We took a guest from China to the restaurant. It was our first time this restaurant. It was close to his hotel so we chose it. The salmon my wife ordered was overcooked. My peppercorn steak was good. The dessert was dry. The server spoke quickly, as if memorized, as he explained the specials, and rarely was around. The restaurant is barely lit. We won't return."

  • "Had a very enjoyable evening with a group from work, unwinding and relaxing with a wonderful dinner and bottle of wine. The atmosphere was perfect and the food and service was nothing I have experienced before."

  • "This was the first time to dine here, I decided to take my mother for her 63rd birthday. First thing a was really happy about was our server (I don't remember his name), he did a great job. We order steak, Fork salad which was amazing, lobster mac n cheese, and the pecan cake. The steak was cooked to perfection, the salad was probably one of the best salad I ever had, the lobster mac n cheese had a taste bud surprise with the hint of lime, and the cake was delicious along with a cappuccino. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family, as several friends and family recommends it to me. Thanks for the great experience and making my mom's birthday awesome..."

  • "at III Forks the atmosphere was excellent the service is great and the food was good I just expected a little bit more out of the food. I asked for the prime rib medium and it was closer to rare my wife's fillet was excellent but seemed to be as excellent as any other fine dining establishment produces with nothing that really set it apart. Try the sweet potato hash ...now that was something different and delicious. Their wine list is excellent and service was great."

  • "This eatery has very poor lighting. Candles would have been great to offset the dark surroundings. Sitting accommodations were not great and the restaurant atmosphere was dull. We noticed a couple arrived but did not stay. Food review: lobster bisque was watered down and lacked flavor. Prime rib was tasty and the mash potatoes were all right. The USDA Prime Flat Iron plate was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, it's a plain restaurant but will not dine their again."

  • "I have dined at this restaurant on more one occasion and all previous visits were fine. This particular dining experience was not due to the performance of our waiter. Don't know if the guy was having a bad day but for someone who stated he is from New Orleans you would have thought he would have had a better disposition and more attentive to our needs. A couple of guests were not even offered a to go box due to them getting full before completion of the meal. I will go back to this restaurant but would definitely request different wait staff if I am so unfortunate to get the place in this guy's station ever again."

  • "Decided on an early dinner with our grandchildren, ages 12/9, after spending the day in downtown Houston. Our waiter came off as if he had no desire to wait on a table that had children, nor did he like that we were not looking at the wine list. When my granddaughter ordered her steak, he assumed she wanted to the adult portion. When I mentioned to him that she would like that off the children's menu, he huffed. Literally made a sigh and huffed.I had recently been to III Forks in Chicago and while the food wasn't all that to write home about, nor was it in Houston, the service we received in Chicago was over the top great! I won't attend another dinner there again, unless absolutely necessary. Nor would I recommend this."

  • "Nice place for a date night. Not often me and the wife get to go out to have a romantic dinner at a nice restaurant due to we have a 4 year old. So this was very satisfying for us. We will be back. Maybe to try them during the lunch hour next time."

  • "We enjoyed Three Forks for Valentine's Day, and all the food was good. Especially try the Three Forks Salad. Yum! But for the price, we were looking to be wowed. We were not. My steak was ok but nothing to talk about. We were a bit disappointed with the Valentine' Day dessert special: Chocolate Lover's Dessert, a too-dry, flaky bread square with a boring mousse inside and what could easily have been Hershey's chocolate syrup poured on top. Any dessert from The Cheesecake Factory would have been more fun. At half the price, I would eat there again."

  • "By way of background, my wife and I dine out in fine restaurants regularly, and we have both been to III Forks' main location (Dallas North Tollway) for business dinners on multiple occasions. In this case, we just wanted to have a nice "date night" without the children, so I made last-minute reservations at the Houston (downtown) location. The overall restaurant experience was acceptable but in no way spectacular. Food was slow to come out and not hot upon arrival. Our biggest surprise was the dearth of ambiance. The Dallas location is nice and has "character." The Houston location felt like an old building lobby - hard surfaces with no zest. There are lots of other, more interesting steak houses in Houston."

  • "Food was ok. Filet and lobster were both over cooked and not seasoned at all. Broccoli was horrible. House salad was great but wedge was not very good. We went on referral from a friend but will not return."

  • "Hostesses were rude, every other staff member was pleasant. Service was sub par - dined for 2 hours and only got 2 refills in iced tea glass. Appetizers and sides were very good, but steaks were mediocre."

  • "The food was great and the waiter made sure we were taken care of. Even his help staff made sure we had what we needed. I had the rack of lamb and my wife had the steak and we both ordered them medium. They were cooked perfect. To drink I had their long island ice tea which was great and the waiter paired a liquor for my lamb tat worked well. I will definitely come again and am curious about their happy hour."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "The steak was under cooked, the rack of lamb was over cooked, and the service was slow. For over $250 (tip included) for two people, it was very disappointing."

  • "Three Forks has always been a great place to dine. And On Feb. 15, it still is. However parking your vehicle yourself, adds challenges and is simply not fun. So use the valet right ??? Well after Feb 15's dinner, not ever again. My vehicle was returned with an extra 3 miles on the odometer. When I asked the valet attendant about, he shrugged his shoulder and stated " ah . . I don't know ". I know that Three Forks does not have an agreement with them. It is the Pavilion that contracts them. Using the divide by 2 math, I find it hard to believe they had to drive 1 1/2 miles to park the vehicle. That type of behavior of a paid service, has me planning to spend my dollars at another dining location."

  • "It was our first time dining at III Forks and the experience was memorable! Our server Jose was on top of the drink refills from the get go. We ordered champagne, and it was served with elegance. Then we ordered a bottle of red wine, and again the steps taken to showcase the wine and then to pour for the ladies at the table first was very classy! The food was incredible. I will leave it there. I highly recommend this place as both the service and the food were perfect for anybodyy looking to indulge and not have regrets later. III Forks rocks!!"

  • "Tasty-kinda - Main course was awesome, my filet melted in mouth, but side dishes were lacking - $20 for lobster mac n cheese that had crusty pasta in it and was super plain - oh and about half the quantity you'd expect - cheesy potatoes were something a 5 yr old could make - dessert was awesome - salad was awesome - skip the sides! Wait time - Seated at 7:10, place was packed, but they had tons of workers - didn't get our entree until 8:50 - yes we got drinks/appetizers and also 6 steaks were ordered including a 32 oz 'tomahawk', but 1 hour and 40 mins after being seated? yikes. Noise - had to lean in to hear person directly across from me, and I'm 28 yrs old with fine hearing. 1 big room with low ceilings... Overall - good but not great"

  • "Food was sub par. Cream corn was under cooked and the steaks were not worth the price. Waiter was nice but I was really dissapointed in the food for a 260.00 meal."

  • "Bone in fillet was delicious. First time having that cut, had the soft texture of a fillet but had the flavor of a bone in rib eye. Service was not so good, but good food is more important to me."

  • "The steak is good, but the sides are really bland, for the price you would expect better."

  • "The service and food was excellent, without a doubt, however the atmosphere was lacking. Though it's possible a few rowdy groups had much to do with the noise level, we were seated upstairs and the feel was just off in general. The tables were plastic, though covered up well with nice linens. We would go again, but I would refuse an upstairs table."

  • "Valentines day was obviously overwhelming for them. The waiter tried his best to keep us happy. But you can tell that the kitchen was holding him back. Unfortunately the food was cold to warm. The bread was hot at at least. Ive tried sending them a suggestion through their website, only to find out that their "Captcha" code doesnt seem to know how its letters and wouldn't let me send it. Overall, I would not recommend this place for any major holidays or when they are super busy."

  • "I reserved a table for my wife and I 3 weeks in advanced for Valentine's Day 2014, hoping that would get me a descent table. After we checked in at the front desk, we waited at the bar for about 5 minutes , which wasn't bad. Then someone came and showed us to our table which was upstairs directly behind a wall , and the table was the smallest, made for only 1 person to dine in . It was horrible , my wife did not have space to put her purse and had to hold it in her lap the entire time while she ate , we couldn't even place our hands on the table( no space). On top of that the food took about 45 minutes to receive, which would of been alright if the other two parties that sat down 25 minutes after us didn't receive theirs at the same time."
