  • "Dining at High Steaks is always a tasty and calm experience. Service is excellent. Tried the peppercorn sauce with the filet this time. Extradinary. Unfortunately a table near by had a loud woman with an annoying voice. I would encourage putting parties away from the other guests. Otherwise experience was fantastic."

  • "$195 for two people (not including tip!). Shrimp cocktail and ahi poke for appetizers. Petit filet and beef wellington as entrees. Corn brulee and fries as a side. Each had 2 drinks. Food was great, but not worth the $200, especially consider the ambiance was heavy and dark - and smelled terribly of smoke, thanks to the casino. The service, however, was exemplary. This would be a fine place to celebrate big winnings or take someone out who's impressed with high prices and a good wine selection. With another fine steakhouse not far away that's less pricey and smokey, I won't be coming back here."

  • "Been here a few times and had expectations going in. We weren't disappointed, the food was good. The fried chicken with the sage gravy is back on the menu. The only constructive feedback is that they seat dinner in the bar now so having a pre-dinner drink isn't possible. Folks are even eating at the bar. Otherwise, it was enjoyable and high quality."

  • "We stayed at the hotel as a nice get away even though it is basically in our back yard. High Steaks was very enjoyable. A few issues with a dirty napkin and my wine served in a cracked glass, but those were taken care of. The 2.5 inch thick new York and the lamb were wonderful (even the left overs the next day). We also appreciated the waiter suggesting we split our salad choice. Nice ability to talk and we also love the bar. It was fun to pretend we were in Vegas and only have 3 mile drive home!"

Quiet could have conversation with partner very relaxing. I will definitely return even tho I have 2 hr drive it is well worth it."

The food presentation was beautiful and unique and our server was very attentive and seemed very genuine toward making our evening a special occasion. It was my husband's birthday and even at the front desk he was greeted with Happy Birthday. We will recommend High Steaks to our friends and of course you will see us again."

  • "Hi Steaks steakhouse is a top notch restaurant for dinner, special occasions, date night... The atmosphere and service is the right speed for upscale dining. I believe the food is very similar to the previous restaurant, Austin's steakhouse. Ribeye cut is different, but comes with the same signature sauce. The bacon wrapped shrimp is the same as I remember. These are good things! I'll definitely be back for the next special occasion."

  • "You wouldn't know that High Steaks is located in a casino. You have valet parking (optional) outside the hotel entrance, restaurant has it's own entrance. You can't hear the bells and whistles from those machines, as least not where we were sitting. Whenever we want to celebrate a special occasion locally, this is our pick. Prefer these steaks to those serve at the other, more famous steakhouse at the Galleria. High Steaks also has a happy hour -- excellent appetizers and drinks. Can't think of one negative comment about this restaurant."

  • "I had an 11oz. filet with lump crab. I was told medium would be charred on the outside and pink throughout. My steak was too well done. Only a small bite in the very center was ever so slightly pink. As a result, it was dry with little meat juices. When paying that much for a steak it should be finished to perfection. My wifes steak, petite filet, was done to perfection. Onion soup was good, not the best I have had. Wife's loster corn chowder was very good. Potatoes au gratin just a little above average. Service was outstanding, as good as any four star restaurant I have been."

  • "We went here for my mom's birthday with a party of 4. Two people ordered the special for the night, Halibut. The halibut was salty and put server said it was because of the different spices they added buy still, we were disappointed. I ordered the rib eye, which was also ok. We enjoyed the side dishes more. I wish they didn't add the service charge to the bill because I was satisfied with our server. Emilio forgot multiple times about our requests for water, butter and straws. For dessert we tried the Banana misu. We were under the impression it was going to be a banana flavored Tira misu. It was more like a cheesecake consistency. Overall, 3 out of 5. "

  • "Ambiance, service, and prime rib was outstanding. Definitely will be returning. A little disappointed with the beef wellington. Not a true wellington. Looked as if a biscuit or roll was sliced in half and placed on top and under the filet mignon. The biscuit became very mushy. My husband ordered the prime rib and that's what I'm ordering next. It was perfect, so flavorful and baked to perfection."

  • "Had an awesome 17th wedding anniversary dinner at High Steaks restaurant in Thunder Valley Casino! Our waiter was amazing - friendly and full of info. The food was fantastic! Started with delicious assortment of warm bread and soft butter. Amazing prime rib and steaks. Delicioius baked potatoes and chop salad. Plus, we had the most amazing corn brulee - it's cream of corn with a creme brulee topping! Dessert was divine. Will definately come back. If I had one complaint, it would be that the booth wasn't private enough. The booths have a "1/2 wall" that was only slightly higher then the table. It would have been very nice and romantic if the booth walls were much higher, like at Ruth Chris. Still had a great time, though!"
