A word from Hideaway Steakhouse
Hideaway Steakhouse opened in March 2011 as a new premier dining destination in the north Denver metropolitan area, combining the classic American steakhouse with modern, contemporary cuisine. Located just 12 miles north of downtown Denver, in Westminster and tucked away among secluded tree groves and tranquil open space, Hideaway Steakhouse offers diners an upscale and sophisticated yet comfortable dining experience for lunch and dinner.

In addition to the selection of Prime and CAB Beef, the hand-cut steaks are served with a thoughtful and wide variety of potatoes, fresh vegetables and innovative sauces, the menu features many specialties that change seasonally, and encourages guests to return frequently to try new things. Each dish is expertly prepared under the direction of our Executive Chef "Scott Yosten", who places a strong emphasis on bold and intriguing flavors to delight every palate.

Diner Reviews
  • "I ordered the new York strip and was disappointed. I know it's not the most tender meat, but it was so tough, I could not cut it with a steak knife. The staff brought one more steak to my table and it was the just like the first. We will still dine in this restaurant, just not the NY steak."

  • "Atmosphere is really good and has a hip feel to it. The prime rib was some of the best I've had. Desert was different and interesting."

  • "The restaurant's atmosphere was very romantic and quiet. The service was amazing and they made us feel as if we were the only table in the restaurant. We were celebrating our anniversary and they gave us a free dessert which was unexpected and delicious! The prices were a pretty high for the location of the restaurant and amount of food on the plate."

  • "This restaurant is great for special occasions. The restaurant does have a great happy hour but don't really promote the happy hour at all. Unless I had a formal business lunch meeting scheduled, my impression of the lunch menu is that it is too much to eat (as well as time commitment required) as I would fall asleep at my desk when I got back to the office."

  • "We have eaten at the Hideaway a number of times--for lunch and dinner--and never had an experience that was anything less than excellent. The oysters are very fresh, for example, much to our surprise. We have also brought friends to the bar area when the restaurant had live music--guitar players and singers, primarily. Our friends tell us they have enjoyed the outdoor patio area as well. Large groups are accommodated in the front dining room where there is a central fireplace. Between there and the bar in the back there are private booths with large fan-shaped backs. The facility was remodeled several years ago and the décor is great."

  • "been to this restaurant twice for dinner. both times the food and service were top shelf."

  • "Food & service were very good close to excellent. Although the dining room was not busy, the host sat another couple next to us. We we're given the per person price of the special for two but we're not told that the price given was per person. I ordered a bake potato & it arrived with butter, sour cream & cheese on it that I didn't want."

  • "The food selection at Hideaway is fabulous. The wine list is notable. The staff is friendly and attentive. We have a great time as always. We went for a business dinner this time and everyone enjoyed the food. We will be back!"

  • "Our waiter was unattentive. The food was just okay. I was not that impressed for the price. Two cocktails and 4 appetizers during "happy hour" cost over $64.00. There are more trendy hotspots downtown with way better Happy Hours. (We love Jax fish house)"

  • "The food was good, service was adequate but as soon as we sat down and saw the prices, we started to apologize to our guest. I can't ever recall prices more out of whack. This is one for Ramsey's show, where the owner stands in the middle of all the empty dinner tables and wonders why he is going out of business, when he clearly has the nicest restaurant around."

  • "My husband and I came here on a quiet Monday night to celebrate our anniversary. We were greeted by the hostess with a warm welcome in (our first time) sat and was promptly greeted by Brian who was wonderful and knowledgeable about the food!! The staff was incredible!! Empty plates were never in front of us for more than a few minutes. I ordered the salmon which was a little small for the price we were paying but it was good, nothing to special however. I wish it wasn't so expensive or else I would dine here multiple times a month for the experience."

  • "Came for our anniversary. The service was great and professional, staff members were attentive and noted our first time visit and special occasion celebration. The ambience was romantic, noise level was quiet. The food was prepared and cooked well and was delicious, the main focus is steaks which are certified angus beef and dry aged, steak sizes are large portions. The pricing reflects those of comparable fine dining establishments. Recommended for special occasions, love that it's in our local suburbia neighborhood."

  • "We used to go to the Hideaway Steakhouse a lot and enjoyed it. We have not been in about 7 months. The menu has changed and the prices have increased a lot. The tenderloins where covered in a lot of sauce and tomatoes to hide the thin size of the steaks. Service is always wonderful; food and prices were very disappointing. It should have been a sign when it was easy to get a last minute reservation and the restaurant was half empty. We are striking this off our list of restaurants."

  • "The food was excellent. What made the experience even better was the service. We thought Stephen was knowledgable, friendly, attentive, and eager to please. When we return, we will ask to sit in his section, if possible."

  • "We had a lovely evening at the Hideaway Steak House, just like we always do. My beef tournedos were fabulous. My husbands prime rib wasn't up to the usual par. The waiter, manager and the chef couldn't do enough for us....going above and beyond....we will, like always, return to the Hide Away Steak House soon."

  • "My partner and I have made an adventure of visiting multiple steakhouses and deciding which ones we most enjoy. We have been to Ruth Cris (sadly closed now), Elway's, Sullivan's, Simms & Capitol Grille. Next it was Hideaway for her birthday & it was outstanding. We appreciated the intimate seating & low noise level. Our waiter, Tanner, was only three weeks on the job but he had no problems explaining everything to us. He had excellent recommendations. Jose was also on the wait staff who attended to us. He was kind & thoughtful. The food was remarkable. Our steaks were prepared as we requested & were of the melt in mouth variety. We shared the mac & manchego & the green beans with bacon. We are still talking about the creme brulle!"

  • "We usually eat in the bar for happy hour because it is such a great deal....good food and good drinks but then my husband fell in love with the lamb chops! They do a wonderful job getting the temps with steaks and such. Also the fish specials rock. My little girl lives the steak TOO. The decor is upscale and the service is always stellar."

  • "Hideaway Steakhouse has a great ambiance and our serve staff was amazing. The food was good. I had the special - yellowfin tuna and couscous. The fish was perfect, the couscous was a little overcooked. My husband had a steak with a bernaise crab topping ($16). And a cup of soup and a beer each, our bill with tip was $180. Honestly, you could got to Texas Roadhouse and get a comparable steak. I think Hideaway is quite a bit overpriced for the quality they offer. I will probably not visit again, although I am curious about their happy hour."

  • "We have been going to Hideaways for quite some time now, it's been one of our favorites, but...this time, food was not quite as good, nor was the wait service. But, we will continue to dine there as often as we can."

  • "The food was wonderful! I had one of that night's specials - Wagyu beef steak. It was delicious and accompanied by well selected sides and sauces. We were a party of 6 and all enjoyed their meals, although I didn't taste the others because mine was too good. The appetizers and desserts were also very well done. The wine list had a good selection and we had a not-very-expensive bottle of a South African Pinot Noir that went well with all of our various food choices. The service was courteous and efficient. Our only difficulty was with the tableware - the forks were so poorly balanced that some of us had trouble keeping them on our plates. Next time I'll ask for an extra salad fork for my entree. All in, a great experience - we'll be back!"

  • "I asked that a special card be placed at my table with a love note written on it for my wife and they told me it did not come through on my special request when I made my reservation through open table. Huge disappointment given they have done this for me in the past."

  • "Very pricey for what you get. It was like Hawaii expensive considering the quantity of food. It tasted very good but overall it could have been about 10 to 15 dollars less per entree and it still would have been expensive. The service was excellent though and overall it was an enjoyable evening. This is a special occasion kind of place, like if you just got a very large inheritance."

  • "We greatly enjoyed our lunch, celebrating a birthday. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. We very much appreciated the delicious complimentary blueberry creme brulee for the birthday dessert. Thanks!!"

  • "We recently took a work group out for dinner and decided to try the Hideaway. We were greeted by a welcoming hostess and very nice bar. Drinks at the bar were good and our table was ready earlier than our reservation. The menu selections all looked very appealing and our service could not have been much better. The only knock on the place overall is the price of the entrees. $40-50 steaks and fish need to be 100% spot on to demand that kind of pricing. Think Morton's, Ruth Chris, Fleming's, etc kind of pricing for comparison. Dinner for 5 with a few glasses of wine and a few beers ran about $400 plus tip. The standout of the night for us was by far the halibut special. Excellent!! Overall, it was a very good experience and we would go back."

  • "Our dinner was exceptional, our waiter both knowledgable and attentive. Steaks were excellent and cooked perfectly to order. Do yourself a Favor and dine at this gem. Locally owned, Colorado sourced. Nice."

  • "If you are looking for excellent customer service and food, this is it! We celebrated our anniversary last week and it was the perfect end to our evening. The fish mix and tenderloin are two excellent choices. Friday nights there is live music consisting of two gentlemen that can sing most any request and are a blast to watch. We go on special occasions as it is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Would compare this to The Palm if not better. And, it is located up a north which is even better!"

  • "What a great way to spend a Birthday. Very nice menu with variety. Our waiter was Turner who made us feel most welcome. He was ready to advise us about every detail and gave us exceptional service. He truly made us feel that our enjoyment was of the utmost importance. I left feeling very pampered to say nothing of well fed. Our food was outstanding!"

  • "When you pay the prices on this menu you expect perfection. My steak was cooked as expected (medium rare). The ribeye however , looked worse than a piece I could get from the store with the same flavor. Wife's steak was underdone at the same temperature and instead of replacement they grilled it back up. I don't expect that from a premium steakhouse. If cooked incorrectly even at Texas Roadhouse you get a new steak correctly cooked. I love premium steakhouses and don't mind the money because I generally walk out happy. Not the case here. The server was great, the owner friendly, but for the price and quality I won't come back. I'll bear the traffic and head to Brooks. We've never been dissapointed there even with a 300 dollar bill for 2."

  • "The place is nice and the food is good, but it is expensive here. I spent over $200 on dinner for me and my wife. We came here so we don't have to drive downtown and fight all the traffic. Worth it every once in a while."

  • "Thought this restaurant was overpriced for food and service. We had a party of five and one person's salad was forgotten and one order came out wrong. Food was good, but at these prices should have been outstanding. We have eaten at restaurants in the Boulder/Denver area and paid similar prices for excellent dining experiences."

  • "Went to Hideaway for the first time for our 37th anniversary. The facility has been upgraded over the years since it was the old Gussie's. We liked the back lighting in the bar area but wasn't a fan of the blinking Christmas lights. They had a gentlemen entertaining playing old 60's and 70's tunes which was nice in the bar area but a little loud in the dining room. It appeared that most of the entree are ala carte so be aware of the cost. Prices were reasonable for what you received. Service was good and not too obtrusive. My New York steak was prepared correctly and was quite tasty. My wife found the beef short ribs a bit spicy for her taste. We had the creme brulee for dessert and were happy."

  • "I had the bone in ribeye. Great choice. Son had filet. He said ribeye was better as it had much more of a grill taste that filet did not. $300 without tip for four adults and two kids. Two glasses if wine. My spouse had appetizer, soup and salad, no entree. Lobster bisque way too spicy with no discernible pieces of lobster. She did not even eat 1/3 of it. "
