Great for Lunch
This was a spur of the moment
lunch after church meal. The location of the restaurant couldn't be better at the Belle Meade Mansion. The food was very good and not too expensive, a great value. The ambiance inside the restaurant was stark. There were no decorations. Almost felt like a cafeteria. The servers were very nice, but the hostess was wearing army boots, which just didn't fit with the experience."

Great service, food, wonderful
experience. Will definitely dine again."

Brought out of town company and
everyone had a grand time with wonderful food!"

Best waiter ever.....even came
outside after our meal to take a family picture for us! Food was wonderful...served hot and in a timely manner. Not rushed not waiting. Great mimosas! We will be back often!"

This was my second dining
experience with the Harding house. My spouse's first. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty. We only had sweet tea to drink but it was just right and our glass was kept full by a most attentive server."
Dined on 2/14/2014
The food was very good. I had the
fried green tomatoes, and a spinach salad. The fried green tomatoes were excellent, and the salad was pretty good. It would be nice if the restaurant stayed open later. We wanted to com back after the tour of the plantation, and the wine tasting for some more wine, and dessert."

This was a recommendation from a
friend for brunch. Service was wonderful; the food was even better. Everything was fresh and well prepared would highly recommend!"

Asparagus soup was delicious with
nice presentation. The peach cobbler was to die for."

I have wanted to try the Harding
House for months and ate twice in one week. The food and service was great. I will definitely return and suggest it to friends."
Dined on 12/18/2013
Might be one of the best brunch
menu's in Nashville - soooo many choices - everything was great!"
Dined on 11/10/2013
The food was okay - the spinach
salad was more spinach stems than spinach leaves, which was not good. I have other things at the restaurant which were much better."

We were in Nashville for the
weekend and had plans to tour the Plantation. We timed it so that we would have a chance to eat here, as we had heard it was good. We made a reservation and when we arrived on time, we were seated immediately. The menu was varied, and there were many delicious sounding items that we had to choose from. All were delicious. Recommend!"

Brunch at Harding House was
absolutely delicious. The fried green tomato with pimento cheese sandwhich was surprisingly delicious. I am glad that I followed my waiters advice. The staff was by far the most attentive that I've experienced in quite sometime. The art work was in the dining area was beautiful."

We made a reservation, and then
plans made us late. I called, and they held our table, worked with us, and gave our guests a fabulous memory."

Food was great, best Cucumber
Bloody Mary! The grounds are gorgeous. Nice time"

This was our first time (and our
last) to dine at The Harding House. We found the staff to be pleasant, the setting to be okay, but for the most part, the food was poor quality and very unhealthy."

We visited Belle Meade and decided
to eat lunch at the restaurant while we were there. They weren't very busy and we were a little late for our reservation from taking the tour but the hostess assured us it was no problem. Our waitress, Candice, was very nice and efficient. I had the soup and salad combo with potato soup and a house salad. The salad was good, it had walnuts and a champagne vinagerette. The soup was a little grainy but still tasted good. My sister had the turkey and brie sandwich and sweet potato fries. She said the sandwich had too much cranberry and the fries were a little salty. My mother had the cheeseburger and shoe string fries and she said both were excellent. Overall it a nice little place to stop in!"

This must be a local tradition
(Soup served with entree). My wife's Chicken salad was passable at best made with huge CHUNCKS of quality white meat, however at least 3 pieces still had tenden or bone attached. My soup was outstanding but since is was served shortly after receiving my entree I was rushed to finish it before my French Deep which was getting cold in the process. My Bloody Mary was both unique and tasty but the most expensive I have have ever had. Server must have been new as she was not well informed."

Fabulous food. The wedge with blue
cheese has caramelized onions and home made sesame crackers. The wedge was almost 1/2 head of lettuce. Fresh hand breaded chicken strips and home made shoe string fries were a perfect entrée. We ended the meal with Yummy Jack Daniels Chocolate Bread pudding. We will go back again we were THAT impressed"

This is a brunch/lunch only spot
at Belle Meade plantation and is a nice place to rest and have decent food. The gumbo was very good, spinach salad was ok (needed more dressing) but fried green tomatoes were cut too thick and so were barely cooked. We didn't have dessert but they looked good."

Set on the grounds of the Historic
Belle Meade Mansion, visitors can take a nice stroll before or after eating and/or visit the lovely gift shop. We began brunch with $3 mimosas and fried green tomatoes. The tomatoes were large slices with a well seasoned crispy crust. The made to order omelet was perfectly seasoned and well prepared. The side order of biscuits were dry and disappointing, but slathered with butter and jelly, were certainly edible. A turkey and brie sandwich ordered by another in our party, was reportedly delicious. It came with the melted brie peeking appetizingly just beyond the rim of the toasted bread. The waiter was attentive, but not overly so. Given my mid-day experience, I will plan to go for dinner one evening."

My daughter and I came to
Tennessee for a special vacation and were joined by some friends. When she told us about Belle Meade Plantation, I immediately checked to see if there was a good restaurant locally that we could go to after the tour. After looking online, I decided to make reservations at Harding House. We were very pleasantly surprised at the ease of adding to our reservation when our friends confirmed they would go with us. And even more noticeable was the variety of food and how tasty it was. We really enjoyed our experience, and I will definitely refer friends who go to the Nashville area."

Lots of great options on the menu.
A weeeeee bit noisy but I love my waitress!"
Dined on 7/28/2013
I had made a reservation in
advance in case the lines would be long. We arrived early from our plantation tour and were seated immediately with no wait. I was glad we did because the place packed within 15 minutes. Even if we had to stand in line, this place is worth the wait. The food is fantastic and prices are very reasonable. I will go back again and bring family and friends for a great dining experience. Hats off to the Staff and Chef at Harding House!"

On a whim we decided to visit the
Harding House Restaurant at Belle Meade Plantation. I went to Open Table and booked a reservation online for 2:30pm. It was 1:00pm when I made the reservation adn we were seated promptly at 2:20pm. The atmosphere was right in line with a vision of the old South in the 1800's. I wished they were playing Classical Music or somethign for fitting for the "period" other than Rock and Roll. The food was well presented and I would certainly eat there again. I am a local resident and I was at peace there and look forward to making it a regular lunch spot."

The Harding House at Belle Mead is
a must lunch experience for those visiting Nashville. I planned my Nashville sight seeing so I would be at Harding House for lunch and was not disappointed! Our service was excellent! The fried green tomatoes are by far the best I have eaten. These are served with a dipping sauce and chow chow. I had heard so much about this restaurant and I was not disappointed!"
Dined on 6/20/2013
I made my reservation on line
which was very convenient and when we arrived our table was ready Everyone was friendly and we had an excellent server. Having eaten at many places in Nashville I felt that $31 for two Cobb Salads and an unsweet tea was a little expensive-which did not include the tip. The food was fresh and good and I would recommend it to others that are planning to tour the mansion if they need to eat."
Dined on 6/20/2013
We went here for Father's Day
brunch. I had emailed weeks prior to confirm whether a special menu would be offered or not. I was told not, but when we arrived the lunch portion of the brunch menu was significantly smaller! Our brunch started out nice with good coffee and delicious biscuits; however the main course was not on par. The food was mediocre, I've definitely had better and can probably make better. We enjoyed being able to explore the surrounding plantation, next time we will just snack on biscuits and eat somewhere else."

My dining experience at the
Harding House was truly fabulous. When my Aunt and I went, it was quite busy, and therefore the service was rather slow, but the food was excellent! Would definitely recommend this place to my friends, and plan on returning sometime soon!"
Dined on 6/10/2013
The service and food were up to
their usual standards. Our server was reasonably attentive and cheerful."

We had a lovely experience at the
Harding House restaurant. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the room was clean and well appointed. I would definitely go there again and would be interested in having events there."

Brunch at HH was a pleasant
surprise. A friend and I wanted a quiet place to visit with yummy food. It was a Sunday, so we wanted to make a reservation. HH fit the bill. It was comfortable, quiet, and the variety of menu choices was impressive and delicious. Enjoyed it thoroughly. We weren't rushed, which was nice too. Staff was pleasant- although they did seem to spend an inordinate amount of time setting up for a large party nearby which seemed to take everyone's time and got noisy. The server said no menu substitutions when my friend asked for a biscuit instead of toast, which seemed a bit unnecessary. But the food was good, and got, and we agreed we'd both go back again."
Dined on 6/9/2013
I had lunch here before doing a
tour of Belle Meade Plantation. I ordered a cup of vegetable soup (vegan) and a salad tossed in champagne vinagrette dressing... it was fantastic! Highly recommend if you plan to stop off to tour the plantation."

Used to go all the time. Back
after about a year. Terrible food. My Cobb Salad was served after 45 minutes with steaming hot chicken. That's a first. Not for locals. Let the tourists have it."
Dined on 5/19/2013
We had nontraditional varieties of
eggs benedict. Both styles were well presented and delicious. The service was good and we never were made to feel rushed."
Dined on 5/11/2013
We ordered chicken salad crossants
and the chicken had no flavor and my sister's was full of grissle. Very disappointed especially with the high cost."
Dined on 5/11/2013
It was great. They did a wonderful
job with ten women on tour!"
Dined on 5/6/2013
/ Bring back the fried oysters.
The server said they had gotten too expensive. When they were served there too many were served. Maybe cut back the portions and have them on the menu again."
Dined on 5/3/2013
This was the first time we used
this service to make a reservation--it was good knowing we had a table ready when we arrived at the Belle Meade Plantation. Upon running late, we called the restaurant and they gave us directions and assured us our table would be waiting. 15 minutes later we arrived and got a table without problem--it was probably helpful that we ate after the lunch hour rush. Place was clean, atmosphere and staff were pleasant, and the signature Grilled Pimento Cheese Sandwich was DELICIOUS and large enough that we shared it. My friend loved her herbed grits too. Thanks for providing this service and allowing us to experience one of the Nashville area's finest restaurants."

We enjoyed the fact it was quite
and friendly. We will return!"
