One of America's most popular restaurants, Gramercy Tavern serves inventive American cuisine from Chef Michael Anthony in a rustic yet elegant setting. In the Main Dining Room, we offer prix-fixe menus starting at $88 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch service. Reservations are… accepted in the Main Dining Room, not for the Tavern area. In the more rustic Tavern area, the a la carte menu is prepared on a wood burning stove and reservations are not accepted, as it is "first come, first served". "This was our second visit and it was as good as ever. The food was excellent and the service great. i do not normally rate as highly as this but the more that i thought about it the more i could not fault it. We were late in arriving and there was no problem at all. The food does not aim to be 3 star michelin in design but it was fabulously tasty with beautifully fresh produce. Our waitress was great even though i sometimes find that in America i lose track of how many people are actually serving you. Would go again."

"We decided to each have a seven course tasting menu one regular and one vegetarian. We planned to share. The soft shell crabs and the fettuccini with mushrooms were the only two dishes of the fourteen that had more than one bite. The hake was mostly potato and the bok choy dish became cold almost immediately and was bland. The steak also boring. The service was outstanding and the ambiance was quiet. After dropping almost $400 for two people we remembered the service more than the food. However how many times do you need to change all the silverware? If you prefer to pay for people fawning all over you more than you prefer to eat really flavorful food then this the perfect place. I would go back with the older relatives."

"We took my parents to Gramercy Tavern since it was their first real trip to NYC and first fine dining experience. We were so incredibly blown away by the service and food. The trout appetizer almost melts in your mouth like butter. The sea bass with spaghetti squash was to die for and the lamb was out of this world. Way to go Gramercy Tavern. We were there about 2 hours enjoying the food and were pleased that we got a dessert on the house. You must order the peanut butter dessert. Next time we are in NYC and can afford to spend that kind of money on a meal, we'll be back."

"I have eaten at Gramercy Tavern numerous times now and chose to bring my family who were in NYC for the week. I love it and they also thought it was fantastic! The decor is amazing, they change the restaurant with the seasons and it was beautiful all in yellow for Spring. Staff are great, food excellent, all in all a wonderful way to spend a few hours!!"

"We have eaten in restaurants around the world, but Gramercy Tavern is the best!! It is hard to explain, but the combination of the food, the service, and the lovely, but relaxed atmosphere combine to make for a wonderful experience. Each course was interesting and delicious, as were the cocktails and the wine."
