Diner Reviews
  • "We always have a great time. Good food and convenient sized tables to accommodate larger groups. No problem if someone is late as they book with plenty of time to eat. "

  • "It's one of my favorite places, but lately food and service is inconsistent. It took forever to get our drinks and food. When food came, it was not how we ordered. The manager tried to correct, but still was disappointed."

  • "We went on Easter, got a table right as scheduled. We had the seafood scramble and traditional eggs Benedict. Benedict could have been a little hotter. On the kids menu they didn't have any brunch items which is a little disappointing... But our daughter ordered the pizza. On the other hand, the Easter bunny made a cameo. The service was lack-luster. Our server was either not organized or had way too many tables. We had to have a busser get him twice, since he kept walking by us and looked the other way... We'd try glacier brewhouse again as we really want to like it."

  • "It is always great chowder and just about anything else you want"

  • "As usual, Glacier Brewhouse makes wonderful salads. The ribs were delicious, but the Fettuccine Jambalaya, though flavorful, was dry. The Brewhouse is a lively, noisy and fun place to enjoy a meal with friends. "

  • "Love the atmosphere, the open kitchen and the awesome presentation."

  • "Overall the food and service was very good. The noise level is a bit of a draw back, but not enough to stop me from coming back again and again."

  • "Brewhouse was great as always! The food, atmosphere and service were above par as expected! Thanks"

  • "It is not uncommon for me and my colleagues to come and drop $1000 for a night at the Glacier Brew House however; we made our reservations a week prior to coming in to the restaurant...we live 400 miles away in Fairbanks. When we got into town I called in to move the reservations up to an earlier time, they said "no problem". First we were made to wait when there were open tables that we could see from where we stood...then after about a half an hour we got seated only to find out that they had a grease fire and could not offer anything from the grill. I guess perhaps it was just bad timing or bad luck for us but this was our experience. Such a let down..."

  • "Went for dinner and enjoy the dinner special. .and pur server is very awesome."

  • "I'm old school - serve the ladies first AND don't "cross serve". Several times our waiter both served and cleared by reaching across one diner to reach another - very poor technique AND just an accident waiting to happen!"

  • "We have been here a few times and have always had delicious food and great drinks. Parking can be a pain due to the location."
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "The Brewhouse is loud, and full of energy, but never boring. The food is good and it is centrally located downtown. We go there often."
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "Love their ahi tuna and peanut butter pie. This is the place to go for a nice dinner out, just be sure to make a reservation!"
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "The ribs were to die for. Wonderful food and atmosphere. Moderate prices and good wine selection. Definitely going back."

  • "We've been going to the Brewhouse for quite some time now. The food and service are excellent. It has a vibrant brewpub scene, thus not a place for a quiet night out. If you want good food, good service, and reasonable prices you cannot go wrong. The Bread Pudding is to die for!!!"

  • "The restaurant has become so busy and over crowded, the food seems to have suffered. In an effort to get people in and out, the quality of food and service is not what it once was."
    Dined on 3/28/2014
  • "One of the best casual restaurants I have ever seen - anywhere. Food and service are impeccable - obviously a well-managed operation. Probably haven't seen a better menu. Get there early or have reservations. This place is full all the time."

  • "Great food. Great beer. Great service. What's not to like? Make sure you get a reservation, as it always seems to be bustling."

  • "Took the family for Sunday brunch. Delicious from start to finish. The oatmeal stout waffles are amazing."

  • "This is one of our top 3 restaurants in Anchorage. However, a new waitress was not proficient. The restaurant manager made things right immediately. As a result, The Glacier Brew House still remains a top three favorite."

  • "Sad to see the prime rib go from the menu.. it was unmatched in town! otherwise great food!"

  • "We went here for a friends birthday. I would recommend this bar for anyone. It has a very (if you can say) versatile environment. Good food although expensive for college students. Impeccable service. The only complaint I would have is that it has an open kitchen which we were seated next to so the noise level was quite high. But overall a very nice place to dine and socialize."

  • "This was my first visit to the Glacier Brewhouse. Unfortunately, our waiter appeared less interested in serving us and pretty much dismissed us. The restaurant was busy but a waiter never reflects their stress onto the patron. We had to ask for our water glasses to be filled. Understanding the restaurant was busy didn't discourage us from waiting for a delicious meal but our waiter never checked on us and we had intended on dessert/coffee to complete our dining experience. We never did get to see the Dessert Menu. We waited after our meal for 15-20 minutes for the waiter to come and could see him clearly talking with other waiters on the side and then when we went to the front counter to pay did he show up. Very Disappointed!"

  • "Overall experience was good. We had a great female waitperson. I would have given 5 stars but the cod appetizer we ordered was very oily. I've had it better there. Off night I guess. Very pleased overall with most of the food and all the employees that assisted us especially our main server."

  • "The food was as good as every time I have been here for lunch and dinner. I fell in love with their bread pudding and really go here so I can have it for dessert. This time I noticed that for some reason it was not as good as it normally has been. Maybe they made a minor change to it? I would say go back to the original it was much better. Otherwise it always is a consistently good place to eat."

  • "It was a great place to celebrate a 16th Birthday party."

  • "Went to Glacier Brewhouse for a Girl's night out. Drinks were great. Best whiskey sours ever. Our server was very nice and quick with our drinks and food. Took great care of us. The only complaint I had was my meal. I ordered the jambalaya fettuccine and the noodles were really over cooked. Our appetizer of the calamari was absolutely delicious. Over all it was a great night. In regards to the pasta dish, I have ordered that dish numerous times and it has always been fantastic. This was the first time ever that I wasn't impressed."

  • "I always love the Brewhouse, and this time I figured I would try the special, but I was REALLY disappointed with my meal :( The steak was tough, the asparagus was really chewy and woody, the crab cake was charred. The potatoes were good though... And we really enjoyed the blue bacon nachos appetizer!"

  • "We had an awesome server, Elisabeth and our food was great. The young lady who took our reservation even wished us a Happy Anniversary!"

  • "Enjoyed our dinner. Was actually able to do online reservations for the time I wanted! Wait staff accommodated change request on vegetables with no issues. Food was relatively timely considering the crowded environment."

  • "Good food - great seafood. Good beer - they make their own. The IPA's a classic. Quiet enough to have real conversation. Big enough that you don't feel like your involved in everybody else's conversation. Service was attentive and friencly without being intrusive. What's not to like. We were there mid-week and there was no attempt to push us along. I've been there in the summer when it's absolutely packed, as well, and had similar experience. Go there once and you will keep coming back."

  • "Great dining, excellent service and superb beer! Love the "make-your-own" Bloody Mary " drinks on the week-ends. I appreciate the accommodations to meals for folks like myself who are vegetarian. I also appreciate trying to accommodate seating requests whenever possible. My restaurant of choice whenever I am in Anchorage! Thanks-you."

  • "Arrived early and the staff easily honored my reservation. The service was excellent. All the meals were terrific, from the ribeye Philly cheesesteak to the beets and chèvre salad to the Ruben. I highly recommend this for your family or co-workers for lunch. The visit was special."

  • "Overall good but the subtle changes to lower costs are somewhat apparent; bread but no more olive oil or balsamic vinegar for example. Ordered a martini and took quite a while and several apologies from server for the extensive delay. Rib Eye was good, done as ordered (medium rare) but the small dollop of mashed potatoes was disappointing (see earlier cost cutting comment). Ordered a glass of wine before dinner arrived but was halfway done with steak before it arrived. Still a great place but the experience is diminished by the disjointed pace of order delivery."
