  • "Gibsons is nothing short of phenomenal. From the food to the service, we were absolutely blown away. The lobster avocado appetizer was to die for, and our steaks were perfection. The mashed potatoes were some of the best, too! I wish I had the recipe for their raisin bread! Our server was wonderful, he was attentive, funny and friendly. Our drinks never went below halfway full before they were filled up. For dessert, we got the creme brûlée (wow!) and the chocolate mouse cake. The mouse was so big it probably could've served 10 people! It was so good, we brought it home and shared it with about 5 people. Yum! This is a new favorite; we will be back soon!"

  • "I've been to all of Gibson's locations but this one is consistently off. Each of us had a different cut of steak, and although they were good, they were nothing special, and definitely not as good as I've had at other locations. The creamed spinach was very thin and salty. The Caesar salad was just ok. It's just too much to spend for a meal that's only ok. It should be great. They also forgot to put a candle in my parents' dessert for their anniversary, even though I called an hour earlier to confirm that they'd do that. The bright spot was our server - he was fantastic, professional and really personable."

  • "Around O'Hare, i alternate among Gibson's, Capital Grille and McCormick & Schmicks, each of which is an outpost of a larger group of high-end restaurants, and the Rosewood Room, which is a singleton. All four are solid choices, but Gibson's is the best of the lot, combining a great dining room with excellent steakhouse food and consistently attentive service. They replicated the decor of their other locations, so it feels like a city steakhouse in the middle of Rosemont, and the waitstaff has some of the city feel as well. I get away with a smaller tab than at Capital Grille and at about the same level as the Rosewood Room. You pretty much can't go wrong here."

  • "Due to travel, third time I have visited within a month and as always exquisite. Excellent staff, stunning food and a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Gibson's server as knowledgeable, entertaining and interesting - attentive enough to feel taken care of without in any way being disruptive or intrusive. And dear heavens, the food. Fantastic."

  • "Joe was a great waiter and I see why he has won three months in a row as waiter of the month and the food was very good. The Chicago Style steak was good but it did not seem to be as good as my original experience at Gibson's. I know steaks shrink during cooking and I ordered med well and the steak was rally chared and had very little pink in it so I was a little dissapointed and I did not say anything as I has three ladies dining with me at the time and I will be back. Desert was great as usual, to bad the strawberry shortcake was out of season I was really looking forward to that."

  • "Gibson's is our favorite steak place in the Chicagoland area. We started out with a great shrimp cocktail that was outstanding. They served us 5 huge shrimp that were so fresh and plump. We then enjoyed some delicious steaks. I had the filet and my husband had the w.r. cut (bone in rib eye). Both steaks were fabulous and cooked perfectly. Our waiter was great and gave us wonderful service. We look forward to our next time at Gibson's. It's always a treat."

  • "I made reservations at Gibsons for 6 people to celebrate my husband's recent promotion. Despite two members of our party arriving about 10 minutes past our reservation time, we were promptly seated and taken care of. The server was phenomenal - very pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu, and very attentive. Our appetizers arrived quickly and our meals were phenomenal. The side dishes are enough to feed the entire table! The only detractor was the way that tables are stuffed so tight together; definitely not for the claustrophobic. And it is a little disconcerting at times to have the food trays, chairs, etc. carried directly over your head."

  • "This was our first visit to Gibsons. The tables were so squished together it was difficult for even a average size woman to get comfortable. If I were to go again, I would request a booth. It was VERY noisy, I would definately not consider this for a romantic dinner or business meeting. The service was good, but very difficult to hear the server & the menu was not clear that some desserts & vegetables were sufficient for more than 1 person. The crab cakes were delicious & a very generous portion."

  • "Visited Gibsons while in the Chicago area on business. Had a reservation-arrived about 15 minutes early but was promptly seated. Waitstaff was Brad, who took excellent care of us. I had the pan fried lake perch with fries and Hubbie had the small filet with a peppercorn crust. I had a bite of the filet and it is among the top five steaks I have ever tasted! The perch was good but not outstanding..the crust is not crispy, which was explained in advance by our waitstaff, but it was still softer than I expected or prefer. The sides are huge-we had a half order of asparagus and an order of mushrooms...they were enough for three or four people! We had the creme brulee for dessert - a large dessert, thicker than most creme brulees but very good."

  • "I ate here three days in a row since I was attending a training at the Double Tree. I was waited on by three different servers, and all three times the service was excellent. The food was fair. The lobster bisque was good. The lobster sliders: The presentation was odd with the three sliders on one side and the big plate brimming with potato chips, overwhelming the entire plate. Onion soup which was ok. The Caesar salad was awful, just lettuce with cheese and a barely perceptible sauce. The Ahi tuna salad was ok but overpriced. Overall I would say if you are stuck at the Double Tree eat here for convenience and nice service. Otherwise, being a Chicagoan I would not go out of my way to return here."
