  • "We like trying new restaurants out during Restaurant Week. Not only do you get to try a decent variety of food options, but if they can offer great service during what usually is a very busy week, it's a good sign of their standards during an average week. My wife and I had a very pleasant experience on a Saturday evening during Restaurant Week. The food was flavorful and presented well. The service was friendly and timely. I enjoyed the ambiance a lot. The place has character and appeal and we will enjoy going back again."

  • "We were excited to find a French bistro in Charlotte. How disappointing it was. Service was pathetic; delinquent welcome, delayed service, empty apologies, lack of know how on opening a wine bottle and not a thank you voiced by any of our four servers. Yes, four, so were all covering for each other or just the one who was supposed to be our waiter?! Food was good although I have had better mussels elsewhere, chicken could have used a steak knife and the creme brûlée was okay. We won't be returning and don't recommend George's."

  • "First time there for dinner. Great ambience and service. Sat outside on a great evening. Short ribs were a little fibrous and tough, but everything else was great."

  • "This is an excellent restaurant in every way. The service was excellent as was the food. The restaurant is in an excellent location. The food was prepared properly. If someone wishes to have a great meal in a great area, this is a place which should be explored."

  • "we had a lovely meal during restaurant week for six adults. they were jammed but well staffed. the food was delicious and the service very good. go back after restaurant week when it is likely to be less crowded. this is a 10 day span that is a real challenge for every restaurant and Georges did an excellent job meeting that challenge."

  • "We went during Queen's Feast but could not decide between the regular menu and the special Queen's Feast menu, it was all tempting. We opted to go with the Queen's Feast menu and it was outstanding."

  • "Georges Brasserie has a perfect sized menu, as in, I wanted to order one of everything. We went during restaurant week, which is $30 per person for a three course meal, but when we asked to mix and match that with the regular menu our waiter was accommodating. The Seafood Appetizer looked and tasted stupendous. Raw oysters, mussels and clams on ice with 4 sauces, chunks of lobster, and shrimp cocktail. A mushroom ravioli with ratatouille sauce was rich with flavor, and escargot topped with flaky cheese biscuits was out of this world. Wonderful service, and delicious chocolate mousse fished the evening with flair."

  • "My first visit to Georges Brasserie won't be my last. I enjoyed the Duck Confit. The service was excellent, I'll be back soon!"

  • "The food was great! Loved the black rice with the salmon dish. The mussels were exquisite as well. However, the onky downside is that I had trouble finding the restaurant. GPS takes you to the general area but I drove in circles trying to locate a restaurant that was not on the main streeet."

  • "Whatever you do, don't allow yourself to be seated on the wrong side of the patio. On one side, you receive the benefit of actual servers. On the other side, you'll have to endure very infrequent visits from a changing cast of already-busy bartenders. The service was horrendous."

  • "I'm never disappointed in Georges. The food, the service and the atmosphere were outstanding."

  • "I made reservations for 8 during restaurant week and had 2 birthdays to celebrate. They called to confirm my reservation and we had a lovely table in the main dining area. The queens feast menu was great and all 8 of us ordered from that. Our server was lovely and we all had a great time. We all love going to George's."

  • "Had dinner Monday night at 730 pm, a party of 5. We all ordered from the price fixed menu. Mussels in white wine were a hit with everyone. The sauce was delicious. Short ribs, and chicken we very good as well. Ample portions of very flavorful food (still think cumin is used for short ribs rub). All desserts were excellent; creme brulee, chocolate mousse and strawberry cupcakes and added bonus was 1/2 price glasses of wine."

  • "We were disappointed that the advertised menu for restaurant week had changed. The appetizer and dessert were very good, but the short rib entree was not exceptional. Individual servers were attentive and pleasant but there was a delay in getting food from the kitchen, a delay noticeable at other tables around us, not just our own. This restaurant has done better in the past and we'll give it another chance in the future."

  • "On a whim, we decided to go to Georges Brasserie this past Sunday. It was a great decision - the Eggs Benedict and Eggs Oscar were delicious, with perfectly cooked poached eggs, and the Mimosas were lovely. Our server gave us just the right amount of friendly attention. Overall a delightful experience."

  • "We went for dinner and found the food was very good, Service was excellent and ambience was excellent-- reminded me of the god old days of a classic restaurant I would recommend the place and if you get the waiter Jeremiah--your day is made!. I will recommend the place for formal and casual dinner anytime! Try George's Butcher Cut with Blue Cheese Mornay-great!"

  • "We visited for restaurant week and its wasn't crowded when we walked in so I was nervous and I wasn't sure what that meant. But the food and service exceeded my expectations! The chef was out in the dining room and greeted us at the door. Our server was quick to greet our table and asked us if we'd been there before. After we answered no he welcomed us and explained how the menu was organized for restaurant week. Then he offered us a regular menu and took our drink orders. He recommended a wonderful French wine and I ordered it. The appetizers were fresh and flavorful. The entrees were tender and savory. And the dessert was delightful! My boyfriend and I truly enjoyed our experience and we will be back!"

  • "While the menu is somewhat limited in terms of choices, everything is excellent. They consistently have the best selection of oysters and service is always excellent. Very romantic if you sit in one of the booths."

  • "We've been to George's twice before - specifically for their Bastille Day celebration - and it's been wonderful! However, the other night was not so great. We were seated in the bar area - which was fun and festive - but service left a lot to be desired. Three bartenders were also waiting on all the tables ... I've been in the business - and understand a hectic night - but our guy was dedicated to a large table next to us. Our food took forever - and came out after the large parties' - when we had actually ordered at least 15 min prior to them. Overall, not a great experience ... especially since it's not cheap. Will skip it next year ..."

  • "We all got very different entrees, and loved everything. 2 Vegetarians in the group raved about it, and everyone of course loved everything meat-wise too! Absolutely no complaints from the food to the service to the drinks :)"

  • "I was visiting the Charlotte area and had a late dinner at Georges Brasserie. I was not disappointed. The meal started off with a Frisee salad with a poached egg and it was so good. We had steak frites with a fantastic bernaise and finished with a chocolate mousse, which many do not serve anymore. Overall, everything was delicious and it made with hanker to be in Paris."

  • "My last French restaurant visit was in NYC. As expected, this one of two French restaurants in Charlotte does not compare. The oysters were fresh with over ten types to choose from and my partners escargot was excellent. The French bread was excellent, but would have preferred more then plain butter to go with it. My salmon dish was overcooked. I was told that the short ribs were very good. I have seen much better wine lists in Charlotte."

  • "Service at this restaurant was terrible, not all the waiter's fault! To cut cost, they have eliminated busboys, you might think that would be minor but you would be mistaken. Three fourth of our requests could have been easily filled by a busboy, thus the waiter is stretched thin and hard to find. Add to that, questionable music that did not help the situation and you have a formula for low expectation for a repeat visit. Note the title, fix the problem!"

  • "The food is excellent. Chef Drew Dodd knows his way around the kitchen and dinning room. He never fails to speak to his guests which is most appreciated."

  • "Great food. Good service, good ambience, great location. For a fine dining restaurant, the pricing is good.loved the mussels in white wine. Our server was very efficient, cheerful and service was quick. They even have kids menu..which is a first for me at a French restaurant!"

  • "My partner and I have come here several times now and it has never disappointed us. The service is attnetive and the food is good. An excellent place for brunch! Outside seating is available"

  • "Food was great as usual. Up to now service has been incredible, however our waiter this Sunday was terrible. He made remarks when my wife asked to get the specials again, forgot drinks which he waited 25 minutes to receive, tables seated 15 to 20 minutes after us receive their food first, and he would disappear and we couldn't find him for 15 minutes at a time. We felt as though we were intruding on his time. You would think having a party of eight you would work hard in order to make more money. I will go back but I will never sit at his station again."

  • "Georges is one of my favorite spots in Charlotte. Always great food and willing staff to please. The Duck Confit appetizer is a most, also the Frisse Salad! If you order The Cassuelette skip the appetizer or share it."
