A word from Fresco 21 - Loews Chicago O’Hare
Established in July of 2012, Fresco 21 is a Mediterranean restaurant dedicated to blending the flavors of the region, offering guests a unique menu representing the distinctive cultures and cuisines of the area. Utilizing farm-to-table produce and grains as well as organic ingredients whenever possible, guests can enjoy seasonal vegetables and fruits, full entrees, plates and tapas. Additionally, Fresco 21 offers an inventive menu of signature cocktails and a broad selection of world-renowned wines.

In addition to our Main Dinning Room we also offer a lunch and late night menu servered in our Fresco 21 Bar. Monday-Thursday our bar is open from 11:30am until 12:00am, Friday & Saturday from 11:30am until 1:00am and Sundays from 11:30am until 11:30pm.

  • "Service and Food is consistently very good. My only minor complaint was our table set up. we had a party of ten. They set the table 5 on each side. The room was not crowded at all and felt they could have went with a 4 by 4 by 2 at each end so not to be so cramped."

  • "Our first visit here. The restaurant was nearly empty and we got lots of attention from our cordial and polite waitress...which made it all the more surprising when one of our entrees was wrong (completely different item). She apologized sincerely and was able to replace the dish in record time. The Fried Duck Leg Confit was both tasty and ample, and its cole slaw side was rated as excellent. The Petite Filet was done as requested, although the brie was much too meager, and sauteed potatoes were offered instead of fries. The self-park charge was completely comped by the restaurant. Overall, everything was as expected (based on other reviews) and adequate, and a busier dining room would have given more life to the experience."

  • "We had the tuesian chicken wings and salmon square Apparently tunesian mean buffalo wings that cost $2 each. They were fine but you may want to just call them buffalo wings. The salmon and bacon wereway over cooked and the avocado "cubes" were clearly sitting out for a while before being dropped into the yogurt. Over all bad food and bad presentation. The mains looked quite boring so we did not stay for these. Spaghetti sauce on penne? Plain chicken and potatoes? I expect more from a restaurrnts in an intercontinental. We ended up leaving and going to the seafood place outside. It was better."

  • "I had gone on a Sunday night with a friend just to try it out. When we arrived the host did not look happy at all, when she sat us she never mentioned the server or anything on the menu. When the server came he did not introduce himself or ask if it we have ever been here. When we told him we wanted to look over the menu some more he was very impatient, and came back 2-3 times after we told him we were taking our time. Once we ordered the food was great my steak was not cooked how I like but, it was good, not amazing. Once we were finished we asked for boxes but he and not wrap ours but everyone else's around us. There was no management on the floor until we were leaving I asked to speak to her and she did not seem to care about our service"

  • "While the vegetarian options were limited, I felt the meal was definitely not thrown together in haste and slapped on the table. The sauce for the lasagne was fabulous. Fresco is listed as a farm-to-table restaurant and the ingredients tasted so. I don't know if they hand make their pasta but was def. a step above the pasta we had a night later that had a more "boxed" taste. Not sure how loud the place would be if it were fully packed but I appreciated for once a restaurant that doesn't feel the need to blare music or have the decor such to make everything "seem" louder. "

  • "Waitress was fine, but kitchen was really overwhelmed with restaurant even half full and both appetizers and entrees took forever to come out. Food was mediocre. The menu makes it seem like something it's not. For example, the "Tunesian" chicken wings are buffalo wings with Frank's Red Hot. Given the mediocrity, I think the prices were a bit too high for what you get. All in all it's fine if you're in the area, but definitely don't go out of the way."

  • "I took my wife here for Valentine's Day, and it worked out perfectly! While others were waiting out the door at Gibson's, we had a delicious preset, 3 course menu in a quiet environment with attentive service just a couple feet away. It was all amazing, but the entrees were the hands down highlights. My wife's halibut and my duck were some of the best we've ever had. Everything just melted in our mouths. Each course came up with a nice spacing in between, so there was no rush and no food coma to get in the way of us enjoying the night together. We will most certainly be back."

  • "This was a last minute decision during Restaurant week. I was a great location for a group of ladies to meet that come from different areas. At first when arriving, I had to find someone for valet, didn't like that there were 4 guys at the restaurant next store but couldn't get one person from Fresco 21 - once inside I noticed for 7 pm it was very empty and thought, this can't be good, but as our dinner went on, the bar and restaurant started to fill up. The service was fantastic - constantly cleaning the table, refilling water or wine, friendly and funny. We ate off of the restaurant week menu but the reg. menu looked fabulous. Food was great! The Roasted Duck Breast was fantastic, the scallops awesome."

  • "The waiter was weird and pushy. First he kept on calling me and my friend "young lady" (I know i look young, but i'm 30), ms. or miss would have worked just fine. Later i noticed he refers to all women this way regardless of age. Then he kept on asking me if i was tired. Made me feel awkward. When looking at the menu, he kept on pushing on the priciest item on the menu. Now, I dont mind paying more for a good dish, but when i feel pushed to order it, i simply wont. when we asked him what else was good on the menu, he said that everything else was not good. Again, super weird!!"

  • "My co-worker and I went to Fresco 21 Friday night at the start of restaurant week in Chicago. Our waiter was most helpful and accommodating. My co-worker has a severe gluten allergy and as of the last 3 weeks had stopped eating meat. The wonderful waiter discussed her food situation with the Chef and he (the chef) came to our table and suggested a couple of options to accommodate my friend. Everything was delicious."

  • "Went there for lunch with a colleaintermittent close to a normal lunch spot (Cap Grille) and I wanted to check out the Mediterranean options they had in their lunch buffet. We were informed that was only during summers or busy season... so got regular menu items, a sandwich and small soup should not be $20+. Capital Grille has a 3 course lunch special for $16... much better food and deal. The ambiance is okay, service was intermittent. Very few people despite being attached to a hotel... Guessing they were next door at Cap Grille."

  • "This was our first time to this restaurant. The appetizer was honey/cheese combo which sounds terrible but was great. The portions were small but very tasty and fun to experience. My wife had the Alaskan Halibut and loved it I had the beef bourguignon and it was great. Perfect comfort food for a cold stormy night. Our waitress was attentive and had great suggestions on the wine and entrees. Overall a very enjoyable experience. The restaurant was quiet for a sat night but the weather was terrible. We plan on returning."

  • "Went to Fresco 21 to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant and bar were not busy. This was a surprise as the parking garage was a madhouse. I wasn't sure if all of us would get a spot. Ironically I chose this place over one at the MB because I know the parking there is ridiculous. There were a few missteps along the way but the restaurant made them right. One of them I attribute to miscommunication. The other was an overcooked steak. My date did not want to have the improperly cooked steak thrown away and was willing to eat it. The manager had a complete new dinner sent to the table with the steak cooked correctly and allowed us to take the overcooked steak home. Modern, elegant dining room."

  • "Within walking distance of Stephens Convention Center, but far enough away to get away from convention hubbub. It was quiet and a great place to have a business lunch. Menu was very limited, which forced you to get their lunch buffet. Price was $15/person for soup, sandwich meats, pizza & salad. Nothing fancy. Food was fresh & good, but not worth the price."

  • "We had a gift certificate to this hotel and oddly I saw it had an expiration date. We were a bit early and could not be seated, oddly the hostess did not offer us a seat in the bar while we waited. We walked around the Intercontential Hotel which was nice. The food was brought to us quickly, The appetizers and desserts were better than the meals themselves. My Halibut was overdone and although my husband said his meal was good I tasted it and was not too happy with it, but that could just be me. All in all we were treaded well and tipped the waitress well, she was very good and very busy. Would we go back, most likely not, but all in all it was a pleasant experence."

We did and we had to ask multiple times for someone to put food on the buffet because there was nothing left. The selection on the buffet was poor. Our service was poor. I will never return."

  • "We had a 8:00 show at the Rosemont theater and picked Fresco 21 because it was directtly across the street. We were running late so we chose to get the buffet - big mistake. There were only 6 different dishes to choose from (chicken, steak, pasta, potatoes, asparagus, & soup) and at least 2 were empty both times we went up. The waiter was nice and apologized for lack of food, but it was dissappointing. For such a small selection, the kitchen should have been kept aware when something was running out."

  • "As a tapas-style eatery, Fresco 21 is many steps up from the majority of airport hotel restaurants you will encounter. I applaud their efforts to move away from the tried-and-true - but oh so tired - traditional offerings found on most hotel menus. Many of the tapas, such as duck confit topped with fried egg on a crispy polenta cake, are outstanding. Although Fresco 21 would likely have difficulty playing in the major leagues against power-house restaurants in the downtown Chicago core, it has no problem holding its own in the Rosemont area near O'Hare. This small airport hotel restaurant shines."

  • "Attached to the Intercontinental Hotel in Rosemont, Fresco 21 had complimentary valet on Sunday. It's contemporary in decor with calming colors. Daily specials are available and the menu is gluten-free and dairy-free friendly. Food was freshly prepared, very flavorful, and nicely presented. We ordered 3 entrées and a few tapas dishes for five and had plenty to eat. The panna cotta with candied hazelnuts is excellent."

We decided to order from the topas menu for dinner rather than ordering entrees, it was fun to share various tastey small plates. The booths offer more privacy and our great for those wanting to converse over lunch or dinner. Hotels restaurants are not always among the best that a city has to offer, but I believe Fresco 21 is one of Rosrmont's hidden gems."

  • "We went to Fresco 21 wanting to try something new. We were seated promptly and that was the last thing that happened in a prompt fashion. We our waitress finally arrived, we had to ask about the specials. Our bottle of wine took a long time to arrive and we had to ask for bread to be put on the table. We tried the tapas and the empanadas, hanger steak and octopus were excellent. The muscles were unimpressive. We wanted to order some more, but decided against it as we didn't want to wait 30 min for them to arrive. After receiving our check and waiting for the server to pick up our credit card, we finally elected to pay the bill at the front desk. I don't think this restaurant will survive."
