One of the Frank Gehry-designed spaces, FRANK restaurant is conveniently located on the first floor with access from Dundas Street. The restaurant is casual chic: modern Danish furnishings are paired with acrylic tabletops in a multitude of vibrant colours. Etched glass and vertical-grain Douglas… fir also accent the space. Anne Yarymowich has served as executive chef at the AGO since 1996. She has created a new restaurant menu featuring contemporary comfort cuisine and showcasing the best of Ontario’s agricultural products. Continued

"Frank is a great place for one on one dinners, as well as large groups. It is an ideal place if you are meeting people who have time to kill in advance (e.g., parents/grandparents/friends from out of town) - the art gallery is a great afternoon activity before dinner."

"I have been to FRANK several times and continue to be amazed at the quality of food and service. After three years osso bucco is finally back on the menu and it is to die for. The cheesy/creamy polenta it is paired with is the perfect accompaniment to the tender meaty goodness and incredible sauce it is braised in. My friend ordered the duck breast and it was equally incredible but in a completely different way. The black currant sauce adds an interesting complexity to the dish. Elaine is an amazing waitress and I cannot thank her enough for the care she takes and the attention to detail she pays. Thank you for an amazing dinning experience as always!"

"Overall had a good experience! Had Easter Sunday brunch with our family. The experience started on a sour note - on the "daily special" menu Hot Cross buns were offered (Easter only specialty) but when asked if we could get an order of the Hot Cross buns "on the side", we were told they were only available to those who opted for the daily special menu!!!!!! What is that all about???? Anyway, after a little back and forth, we did get 2 orders of the very good buns - although, we were five and they could only give us 4 buns!!!!!!!"

"We, a group of 12 people, dined in Frank yesterday. This was not my first visit there. Last time I was very impressed with the food and service, that's why I decided to go there again. Unfortunately, this time the experience was not that exciting. Although, the food - I had scallops as starter and Octopus as the main - was quite good, the service was subpar. First, the waiter spilled water but did not bother to wipe it off from the table. He then forgot to bring the starter for one person and served it only with our main dishes. The main dishes were brought out while people were still having their starters. He did apologize when I showed apparent dissatisfaction with the service, but It was still quite disappointing!"

"I had a medium rare steak that was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I was quite surprised by the amount of steak for the price paid. The mash potatoes and beets complimented the meal very well!"

"We had a great meal at Frank. The food was delicious as was the wine and the very well mixed cocktails that we had to start. The assortment of breads were fresh and addictive and I appreciated the sea salt on the side. The maple bacon donuts were insanely good; order them if they're available! They were still warm when they arrived and disappeared in 30 seconds! The only food misstep was desert. I had the coconut brûlée rice pudding and found it a bit one note and overly sweet. Everything else was perfectly cooked and seasoned.

The service was warm and friendly. Food arrived quickly but the timing between courses was great. This was my first visit to Frank and I look forward to returning. Highly enjoyable evening!"
