  • Private Party Facilities: Foundation Room offers multiple Private Dining options including our oval-shaped "Gothic Room" which features antique wood paneling from the Kellog Estate and can seat up to ten diners, our "1856" room with a view, a large table that seats up to 18 and original stained glass from St. Mary"s Cathedral in England, our Shangri-La Room which accommodates up to 50 diners, and the small Prayer Rooms, Buddha and Ganesh, that provide intimate dining with couches for up to six or eight guests. Reservations may be made with our Concierge, or customized experiences created by our Special Events Department.

  • "While it's goals and location are great, the service and food are just ok. We had a group of six for a 7:00 reservation. The place was only moderately busy but our service was good but very slow. Food was fine but not impressive given the restaurant's reputation. Best part was the location and decor. Atop Mandalay Bay the view is great and the Indian style decor is nice and an unexpected departure from the normal House of Blues style."

  • "We have been coming here for a few years and you cannot beat the view. I have to say, while the food and service are still good, it's not as good as it was when we first started coming here. However, the bar, lounge, outdoor patio, and view more than makes up for it! We are in Vegas about 4-5 times a year and we always make sure to have dinner at Foundation Room. I highly recommend and will be back again."

  • "Being members, my wife and I dine at the Foundation Room House of Blues monthly. Section 51 of the restaurant offers quiet, table for 2 dining with an exceptional view. The staff is top notch, always accessible. Nice menu and drink selections."

  • "What makes this place is the view, but we were surprised by how great the food & service was as well. The menu is reasonably large, and every dish looked delicious. We shared a steak along with a few other smaller plates, and all of them were great. We also came early enough that we could go to the bar afterwards, and get an unobstructed view down the strip from the patio. It turns into more of a club scene later at night, so if you want a quieter experience you should go around 7:30PM. Really worth checking this place out at least once."

  • "The ambience could not be better. Team service (two waiters) worked very well, although it can be a disaster, but you have it right. Food is good, but not great (no sauce for steak or lamb chop) so they were dry. Food prep does not make you want to eat more. Plates do not need more, they need improved taste and mouth feel. Drinks are excellent. Deserts well done, but taste again is a issue. Quantities are all excellent. I would go back in a heartbeat, but pls work on the the taste to the guest."

From the elevator ride up to the amazing views, it's in a league of its own and made for a special experience. The food was fantastic as was the service, we were very happy with our choice!"

I thought it would be pretentious the first time I went there, but it's not at all. I could spend hours in the bar area.... it's so eclectic and the music is awesome.   • "I enjoyed celebrating my 10 year anniversary at the Foundation Room. Ten years earlier, we celebrated getting married having our first meal at the House of Blues which we really enjoyed. When I made my reservation and explained the occasion, they told me about the Foundation Room. It was more than I could have imagined. It was elegant, the views were spectacular and really exceptional from the balcony. The food was wonderful and the portions generous. It was well seasoned and we were pleasantly stuffed. The staff were divine from the time we entered until we left. All were most gracious and accommodating. But the highest marks go to our servers who were truly outstanding and made our celebration extra special. "

  • "I've been fortunate enough to eat at some really good restaurants in Vegas, and comparatively I would not put this near the top. The view is very good, but you get the same thing by having a drink at MIX. The bone in rib-eye was tender and flavorful, but I prefer a thicker cut steak. I will say that the grilled asparagus was by far the best I've ever had in my life. Mashed potatoes were good, but I've certainly had better. Overall a good meal, just not as much as some of the reviews I read before going."

  • "The view is unique for Vegas, but most seats do not take advantage of it. When sitting in the middle of the dining area it feels more like a cruise ship. The food was very good across the board. While some was better than others, no real complaints. I wished I had arrived with a larger appetite to eat one of their steaks as it is one of the specialties and looked delicious. The wine list was impressive, but the markup was way too much. A street priced $10 bottle was listed for $75 and a street priced $35 bottle was listed at $200. They do offer corkage for $35 if you prefer to bring in your own, and based on their markups I advise you strongly consider it."

  • "This was an amazing find. I stumbled upon the restaurant through a google search. I couldn't have been happier. We arrived, got a drink from the lounge, and went on the patio to see the view. Breath taking doesn't even come close to describing how beautiful this place is. The view was spectacular, the food was to die for, and the overall experience was something we will never forget."

  • "We were so impressed with the Foundation Room experience. From the moment we stepped on the elevator and opened onto the floor with ambience to the nth degree. The bar was beautiful with a view of the City, and the service could not have been better. Dinner was a lovely mixture of unexpected offerings, and again the service exquisite. I know the Foundation Room was previously a private club, but I was so pleased to see it available to guests of the Mandalay Bay property. I would stay at this hotel again if I knew another Foundation Room dining experience was part of the package. Over the top from start to finish-we loved it!"

  • "We ate off the restaurant week menu and it was great! Crab cakes for starters that were filled with big chunks of crab; filet was medium-rare and cooked perfectly, though lacked a bit of flavor; the bass had lots of flavor; the molten chocolate cake was my favorite of the deserts but the bread pudding wasn't bad if you like lots of pecans in your caramel and cake. Service was great and very friendly. All around very enjoyable and for a steal at $40 each."

  • "We were pretty lost trying to find the elevator. Prior to checking in, I called the hostess to ask where she was located. She was saying I should just ask someone who works there. Well we have never been there. The elevator is hidden. It's by the front desk, if anyone was wondering. As we went to the FR level, there was a creepy hostess standing in the middle. Almost like she was expecting you. The hostess was very nice, and attentive. Asked us for napkins options. Told us about the outside view deck. Once we were seated, a server assistant asked for our drink order. Another SA brought us bread. I asked where the restrooms were, and he replied that he didn't want to point. Our server only came twice during the course of our meal."

  • "The velvet rope access to private elevator ride to the top of Mandelay Bay will help set the mood. The Elevator door opens up to a very relaxed, comforatble lounge/bar area. I would recommend getting there a 1/2 hr before your reservations so that you have time to enjoy a couple of drinks on the porch, and enjoy the awe inspiring view of the Las Vegas Strip at Night. Dinner in the very private dining rooms are very unitque, and the food is great. By the end of the evening, you will be the "Hero" with your spouse."

  • "We went there to celebrate the 30th birthday of my friend. The staff is so nice and available, without being pushy. The dwcor... OMG! Beautiful! The food was very good. And the view. We had our cocktails on the patio outside. The view of the strip is amazing. Foundation room is a must do in Las Vegas! If you have the budget for it."

  • "Fix your lighting especially in corner tales. If tables are reserved make sure you have reserved signs because asking guests to move after spending a couple of hundred dollars is not a good idea. And if you must make sure all guests are taken care of. I wont be back!"

We do not usually go for the big ticket wines, which were offered, but when I asked about two different Pinot noir choices she actually recommended the less expensive one and it was very good.   • "We made reservations for Christmas Eve instead of cooking a big meal for the two of us. We arrived about 30 minutes early and were escorted to the lounge for a before dinner drink, there are several rooms tucked away if you are looking for privacy. The lounge was very comfortable and the staff friendly. The view of the Strip is fabulous from this location!! When seated for dinner, the ambiance continued. Very comfortable, we had reserved a table with a strip view, so we were able to continue to enjoy the view. This was the best meal we have had, hands down. The portions were perfect,and the flavors fabulous. Can't wait for it to warm up so that we can go back to sit outside to enjoy the view!"

We from the view, to the food to be beautiful inviting decor - Wow! We took a tour and were impressed by all that members have access to. Afterward we enjoyed an after dinner drink on the balcony and enjoyed the beautiful view of The Strip.   • "Five stars except for 2 imperfections. 1) The waiter assured me the chef could hit the sweet spot between medium and medium rare where I like my filet cooked. It arrived cooked to a perfect medium rare, but tasted so good I did not to send it back. The roast lamb, and the duck confit twice baked potatoe were wonderful. 2) I used a $50 Opentable certificate in conjunction with a free entree coupon. The waiter was friendly and did not make me feel embarassed about using a coupon, but his manager first rejected the Opentable certificate as a second coupon. I pointed out that the certificate tells the restaurant to "Process as a travelers Cheque" and provides an 800 number for questions. After calling he accepted the certificate. Now he knows."

  • "We had our annual company Christmas party at the Foundation Room. It had a little something for everyone. The lounge was great for a pre dinner drink. The decor was warm and comfortable while being a little exotic. Service and food in the dining room was excellent and we even met the Chef. The view is the real star of the room. After dinner the music started and the atmosphere changed to be a little more lively and it was then more like a club. We ended up staying until the wee hours enjoying the view, the room and the service. All in all a memorable evening."

  • "Do not miss this restaurant when in Vegas. It is wonderful. It is on the top floor of the Mandalay Bay Casino, literally right next to the sign on top of the hotel. The views are fantastic, the food wonderful and the service exceptional. I can't say enough good things about it. Great side rooms for cocktails before or after dinner (really eccentric decor). Also, a great outside space with comfortable couches and chairs. You will not be disappointed."

  • "We were warmly greeted and brought to our table immediately. The noise level was high, there were a lot of large parties dining. We had hoped for an exclusive ambiance but instead found the atmosphere to be more "bachlorette party-like". The menu is decent and the food was average. Our server suggested that we go outside between courses and the view was indeed, gorgeous. The terrace outside the restaurant was far less crowded than the bar areas terrace which did feel special. Overall, a good experience but definitely not an "exclusive" venue."

  • "We had a party of 6 and we all had a wonderful time. Several of us had the halibut special, which was fantastic. We made reservations on Open Table, which was easy (we tried several other restaurants, but couldn't get reservations for the time we wanted - 6:30). We had heard about the view of the strip, so we were anxious to see it. The view was great, but you can really only see it from their outside deck. We were fortunate enough to have a beautiful night, so we spent some time outside taking pictures between when we ordered and when our food came. The food was expensive, but overall, worth it."
