I have been coming to Flemings for a long time... This last experience was not enjoyable.... Despite requesting a table with easy access, I was not accommodated. Our table for five was almost on top of another which was refused by customers twice while we were there... So, I don't think it was just my perception. The table also inhibited the path for servers and customers. Then it took 40 minutes to get the first plates... and when entrees were brought sides had been forgotten. I believe that in trying to fit more customers "in" the service is suffering and the experience is less than desirable. This is particularly true in view of what one is paying. I cannot help but give them a grade of F for value.

Granted I've been here only once, Flemming's did not deliver the quality you expect from a five star restaurant. Food was sent out overly undercooked, then brought back overcooked. Multiple mistakes were made throughout the whole night. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

We have eaten here before, but still amazed at the quality of the service and the outstanding menu selection. And the chef made everything we ate (ordered the swordfish tonight) absolutely to perfection. This remains a special dining moment for my wife and I when in the South Coast area.

We love the staff at Newport, they are always ready to make you feel right at home and attend to every need. It was packed, busy, moving, but the food was well times, perfectly cooked and seasoned and there when we wanted it. Tables were impeccable, starter course is new, and we loved it, very wine centric and well paired with the whole scope of the restaurant.

This time was a special occasion, my husband's birthday, which I mentioned at the time of my reservation. Everyone from the hostess, waiter and manager all made it a point to wish him a happy birthday. He received a special card, which was nice as well. Our meals were great, I had the prime rib special (only on Sunday) which was perfect, and he had the surf/turf special with a filet and lobster tail. Everything from the wine to the dessert were on point. We will keep going back to this location for the food and for the service.

Flemings always has great steaks and entrees. Our salads were fantastic and the steak add on lobster side was wonderful. Creamed spinach was great, the Flemings potatoes were not as good as before, a little undercooked. Service (waiter) was fantastic but my only complaint was that we requested a nice table when we made the reservation, but were seated in the very front table as you walk in, so we had quite a draft each time someone opened the door. This was distracting, and they should do something to better screen this area from the cold and for privacy. We felt like we were dining in the entry.

Waited for a table (with confirmed reservation) that was basically their worst table in the restaurant -- but we got a complimentary appetizer because they were not able to seat us on time nor in the area we requested (two strikess for a very, very, very pricey restaurant). Also, dress code states one style of dress but we sure saw more flip flops, shorts, and t-shirts than anything. Food was ok but the prices were a tad high for their quality; not sure it would be my first go to steakhouse.

We have been to Flemings before and have loved it. Saturday was different. we got to our 6:30 reservation on time, waited a half hour. got to table and waited 20 minutes for even anyone to greet us. ordered drinks and another 20 minutes went by. We actually sat 40 minutes before we placed our order! it seemed rushed and we didn't get that special feeling Flemings usually offers, we were really disappointed; the food was excellent as usual.

Have not been to Flemings in many years as we moved out of the area. Service and food were excellent, as we remembered. Our server, Carlene, was attentive and cordial. However the wine list had significantly changed. No longer doing wine flights in small carafes, with essentially the entire wine list available. That was the major draw for us, as we are wine people. High end steak houses abound, but the tastings were distinctive. The list itself offered recommendations that were modestly priced, as well as high end wines. But the total wine offerings were just satisfactory. Will try another restaurant when we next return to south Orange Co.

Flemings in Newport Beach is vibrant to say the least. Our 6:00p.m. Saturday dinner reservation was an absolute must. The Restaurant was packed from the time we arrived until we left 2 hours later. We had a party of 8 and that made conversation difficult because this is a large restaurant and the noise level is high. That being said the service and the food was outstanding. Side orders are shareable and served family style. Fleming potatoes and the Lobster mac and cheese are both unique to this restaurant and delicious. This a a steak house and my filet was cooked to perfection. My wife had halibut and it was moist, tender, and she described it as the best she had ever had! We will be back.

We ate here for my wife's 65th birthday with another couple. The location (inside the parking lot of the shopping mall) and inside ambiance are somewhat lacking for a restaurant in this price range. However, with this said, the rest of our experience was exceptional. From the hostess, to our waiter, to the food, everything was top tier. Each of us ordered something different (prime rib, porcine rubbed filet mignon, peppercorn steak, and ribeye). Each order was prepared exactly as ordered and everyone agreed it was the best steak we've had in Southern California. To top the evening off, after we had paid our check, the waiter brought a small box of Fleming's chocolate truffles for my wife's birthday.

We've been here before for happy hour and thought we'd come back for our 15th anniversary. We had looked at Mortons but they didn't have a kids menu and we wanted the them there. I'm glad we landed here. The wait staff was excellent and Xavier did a great job of coming by and saying hello to the kids (8 and 10) which they loved. They really felt like part of the experience. The food was great and the souffle was worth waiting for. Great job Flemmings!

This was our second visit to the Newport Beach Fleming's. Although our previous waiter Ken wasn't off we another fabulous waiter named Amadeus. Excellent service, food beyond excellent. We were celebrating our friends 75th birthday and she had a GREAT time. We will definitely make another trip to this location. We also tried the LA live location food was ok, service the same just not as friendly, attentive. Newport Beach location the BEST.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything was amazing. Ribeye & Filet steaks were prepared prefectly. The Flemings Potatoes are great (cream, jalapenos and cheddar cheese). We're not big wine drinkers but the waiteress was great and recommended a nice sweet wine (Jam Jar). The entire staff was very friendly and wished us a Happy Anniversary. On our way out, we got to meet one of the Chefs (Mark) who told me he'd let us pick our our own steaks next time we come in and even the valet was one of the most nicest people you'll ever meet. We've been to many upscale restaurants and by far this was our best experience. Thank you Fleming for making our day so special!

Been going to Flemings since it opened at the Newport Center location. How sad that this restaurant has falling into the same trap as all restaurants today: Food portion sizes have been reduced and the prices have risen. My table was shocked how small the side portions were and many went without sides. What a shame.

As usual Fleming,s steaks are the BEST! The filet mignon almost melts in your mouth. The pepper steak was juicy and their F17 sauce is DELICIOUS! The only down side to this place is that it is so NOISY that you just cant have a decent conversation on your table .The service was excellent as usual. I gave 4 stars only because of the high noise level.May be next time we will visit later in the evening.

I hesitate to try out restaurants that have multiple locations on the idea that they won't be creative, the standards won't be kept up, etc. But Flemings is none of that. An Amazing restaurant with wonderful food from start to finish. Even the halibut special was better than I expected (11 on a scale from 1 to 10 :)). I could go on about the food but don't let anything (except maybe the $$) stop you from trying this wonderful place

maybe it was a sunday evening, maybe it was just tourist season, but something didn't feel the same old Fleming's to us the last time we visited. they still do a great job with a steak, and everything on the menu is way above average. honestly, compared to the top-end steakhouses, they are reasonably priced. i just don't feel like their wine list is current, and the menu is not that exciting. there are a lot more children and casually-dressed patrons, which isn't the atmosphere i expect since i make Fleming's a special occasion restaurant. realize that you will be spending $100/person and you can get a prime steak of equal quality around town if you look for it.

Our first visit to Fleming's, for a special occasion, was disappointing. Arriving early, we waited in the bar but were left standing, ignored amid numerous dirty tables, for about 15 minutes. Politely asking the bartender for a drink and someone to clear the tables, my husband earned an exasperated look and begrudging service. In the dining room, we were seated near the noisy kitchen. Our server seemed harried and, with my 3rd request for an iced tea, she apologized that they were just too busy (Sunday, 8 PM) to offer better service. On the plus side, our dinners were delicious and the Sunday prime rib special is a great deal. Still, overall this was a pricey meal that missed the mark and we won't be returning to Fleming's.

Fleming's has always been a favorite for special events, as well as business dinners. The food is consistently excellent...from the appetizers through desert, and the service is attentive and friendly. I prefer to be towards the back of the restaurant, because it is the only place that is reasonably quiet (perhaps this can be requested at the time of reservations? I will try next time) and avoids the traffic that be somewhat obtrusive. It is a bit pricey, as many upscale steakhouses are, but there is some solace in knowing you will always get a great meal...and if something isn't just right, Fleming's will make it right.

We have been dining Flemings for several years on a regular basis and have never been disappointed. This time the food did not meet our expectations. The shrimp appetizer, the shrimp was not fresh. Three of the four steaks we ordered were not cooked properly and in addition did not meet the quality standards that we are used to. The rib-eye was chewy and not as flavorful as usual. It is disappointing that we had this experience as we normally really enjoy Flemings.

We had an impromptu date night and decided on Flemings as we wants to goanu times. Heirloom Tomatoes with Burrata was fabulous. My lamb unfortunately was well instead of medium. I was hesitant to say anything but when the manager checked on us, we did note and show him a piece. Immediately he asked for another order and took that AND my husband's dish (which was cooked perfectly) off the bill! Such a great service gesture. Many others won't do even half of that, let alone something in addition to the item. We will certainly be back - the food was cry good and attention to our table fantastic.
