Local farms and waters are the inspiration for this New American restaurant that focuses on preparing menus using ingredients that change with each season. American microbrews and wines are carefully selected to pair with each dish our chefs create. Enjoy our House-Infused Artisanal Cocktails made with seasonal purees and fresh squeezed juices while overlooking the Long Island Sound on either the outdoor patio, upstairs seating or cozy lounge. Established in 2004 in Greenport, this Zagat top-rated restaurant for both food and service moved in Spring 2008 to Port Jefferson harbor.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "While not directly on the water, there are view of the sound from the upper dining and from the outdoor tables. It's right across the street from the ferry and the sound walkway. The food was excellent and the service excellent as well. The bar staff was friendly and bought us an extra drink before dinner. Our waitress was really knowledgable helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend."

  • "Fifth Season is one of the best restaurants I've been to. I went there for a date and it couldn't have been in a better spot. The setting that I was in was quiet, comfortable, and resembled a fancy, feel at home dining room. The food was on par with my expectations and the waiting service was patient, and professional."

  • "The chef is both creative and sophisticated in his approach. He uses local ingredients of the season, and layers the favors in unique and tasty dishes. We have never been disappointed in the food, and the upstairs view of the harbor and boats is very charming."

  • "We had a lovely time and the food was delicious. The view from our table upstairs was beautiful and service was very nice."

  • "We had a wonderful time at Fifth Season. The food was fresh and very, very good! All was cooked as ordered. We sat on the deck and the breeze and live music were wonderful... If I could critic one thing it would be that the music was a bit too loud. We will return!"

  • "Quality of the food was fresh and tasty. Service was efficient, timely and knowledgeable. Our severer was able to quickly answer all our questions. Choice of food was unique. The monk fish and the vegetarian entrees were excellent."

  • "The food was delicious. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we loved it! Everything had so much flavor and tasted great! I recommend for everyone and we sat upstairs and got to see the water! We did the price fix menu and loved it."

  • "Brought a friend in from the City to have brunch here. Have been here a number of times and the food, service and surroundings are always reliable. The food selections are unique for a brunch menu, in particular. But, I have been here for lunch and dinner as well and always find unusual selections that are quite good. I would highly recommend this restaurant, especially for the price!"

  • "FS has one of the best kids menus around; it is healthy, appetizing, and full of options. We will definitely be back. Excellent burgers! We highly recommend FS. P.S. If your kids eat junk and are no well behaved, don't bring them to FS."

  • "Food is fresh and inventive. Desserts are fantastic We had 5 for the 2 of us. Service lacked initially but after we said something it was great. Place could use a facelift to match the fresh food . Its very brown! Love the seasonal menu. Wine /beer pairings were excellent matches."

  • "Pricey, even with prix fixe, but well worth it. More for special occasions rather than weekly or even monthly because of that."

  • "We went here for dinner with my husband, two children, and parents. Everybody was beyond pleased with our appetizers and dinner selections. Great flavor, great quality, great service!!! • "4 of us had drinks and a Mediterranean platter at the bar then dined in the restaurant. The cocktails were surprisingly good with only a hint if sweetness. They serve a good selection of local beers on tap. The platter was tasty and interesting. The dinner menu offers a pleasingly small and balanced selection of seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients. We had apps and entres and apart from my vegetarian entre being far too salty all the other dishes were well executed. The wine list is solid with a reasonable spead on prices. The service was very attentive but not overly formal. This is the third time I've been here and the experience is consistent with previous occasions. I really like this place. "

  • "Wait staff was very attentive but not overbearing. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The chef uses farm raised meat, local wine and cheeses and seasonal produce. Celebrating a birthday, which was acknowledged by a candle in my creme brulee and a "Happy Birthday" greeting written in chocolate on the rim of my dessert plate."

  • "Overall a very good place to dine. The food is ALWAYS delicious and prepared with care and the young, energetic wait staff and greeters are well trained, polite and see to it that your experience is enjoyable. We dine there often and recommend this restaurant to our friends and family. Thanks for allowing us to take part in your assessment process."

  • "We were a party of 8. The food and service were great except the waiter should have pointed out the prixe fix menu. When we realized the option half of us changed our orders."

  • "My son and I had the pleasure of enjoying the Mother's Day prix fixe menu at the Fifth Season yesterday. We usually face a bit of a challenge when dining out as he is vegan, but our waiter and the chef couldn't have been more accommodating, and put together a delicious dinner that included a vegan version of the first course and a tasty off-menu risotto. My meal was outstanding - so good that I felt a little sad when I ate the last bite of each course as I didn't want any of the courses to end. The service was concerned and attentive but not intrusive, and we saw our waiter bring a similar level of concern and creative approach to a special order at the next table, too. The dining room is pretty, too - altogether, a lovely Mother's Day."

  • "I was with people who could not eat some of the choices on the pre-fixe menu that was in effect the day we went. When they asked if they could order off the regular menu they were told no. Prices were very high for mediocre service. They also didn't prepare the steaks to the request of my party. They all came out medium rare even though they were ordered differently. It's a cute area so it's unfortunate this restaurant was trying to be something it's not. "

  • "Pricey but worth it, location can't be beat only negative is parking...they should have valet service."

  • "I guess this place is OK. I don't know why I think this way but I was not 'wowed' by the overall feel. It is hard to put my nose to it because the food and service were good. I guess the overall atmosphere and having to walk up a steep flight of stairs to get to the bar and restaurant threw me off."

  • "Me and my husband were in town celebrating our one year wedding anniversary and they gave us a great table, great service, delicious entrees and desserts as well as a sweet surprise for our anniversary, the staff was very helpful without being intruding and I would 110% recommend Fifth Season to a friend. Thank you SO much Candy and everyone else for making out special night feel special. "

  • "For me. fine dining is about dishes you would not make at home, made by a real chef, that taste delicious and represent a fair value for the price paid. Fifth Season delivers consistently.... The entertainment and vibe at the bar is a plus too ... On a nice night, the outside seating can be quite enjoyable... The staff strive to satisfy ..."

  • "We went to Fifth Season as part of Restaurant Week. The food was incredible. I had the most delicious Calamari starter. The sauce was spicy and delicious and I asked for more bread to mop up the sauce. The calamari was cooked to perfection. Had the salmon main course, but after the incredible calamari starter, this actually paled in comparison. The flourless chocolate cake was amazing, with richness and chocolate sauce center. Would definitely recommend this place. "

  • "This local spot is definitely a place I would go back to. Although expensive, the experience is totally worth it. Very good service, very attentive. I would recommend making reservations of course. Their local grown, organic food is definitely a plus. All of the dishes presented were delicious, from appetizers to dessert complete with wine pairings. This place can get especially nicer when it gets even warmer because it's just right off the dock."

  • "The outstanding ingredients and attention to preparation make this the restaurant to visit when down Port. The quality of food that is served is by far the BEST in Port Jeff. The chef(s) no doubt hold themselves to a high standard as everything that was served was deserving of a Michelin star. If you're looking for quality food, excellent service and a nice ambiance, this is the place in Port Jeff. I normally order wine at diner but today was somewhat warm so I had a Port Jeff Brewing Company beer called the H3. This beer had a superb combination of flavors and reminded me of the infamous Heady Topper. My wife had a Strawberry mojito which she described as "good". It contained some very interesting "fruit caviar" on top. A fun drink! Visit"

  • "We've been to the restaurant many times and always find the food and service to be superb. However, we felt the waiter wasn't as professional or attentive as we've experienced in the past. We had an early dinner reservation and it wasn't busy for the duration of the visit. The waiter took a long time to take both our drink order and meal order and never brought a dessert drink menu over or offered coffee or tea with dessert. We assumed he was new. We spent upwards of $100 for this dinner and whole we usually feel that the expense was worth it, this time we kind of cringed. We plan to return and hope for the same great experience we normally have!"

  • "I've been here quite a few times and have never been disappointed. The food is always done properly (and as requested) while the menu is always interesting. The staff, as always, bent over backward to make sure you are well taken care of. "

  • "I visited this restaurant during Long Island Restaurant and it was the first time that I had been there. They had a good choice of gluten and dairy free food choices for those with dietary restrictions. The waitstaff was incredibly friendly and informative and checked on us often to make sure that everything was going well. The food was incredible. Everything was cooked perfectly and came to the table in a reasonable amount of time. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others. "

  • "The Fifth Season consistently provides some of the most exquisite and unique dishes that taste both fresh and filling. The portion sizes are perfect, and the service is impeccable. One of my favorite restaurants on Long Island, and a warm place I love to visit again and again. If you're looking for a special night out or just want to grab a drink and watch the sunset, this is the place to be."
