Diner Reviews
  • "Very disappointing. Especially after reading the review in the food section of The Baltimore Sun newspaper. The only good thing that I can say about the food is that it did come out hot. As far as flavor is concerned, it was alright, just ok, nothing more. Our food took a very long time to come out of the kitchen. Our server was very friendly and did a nice job."

  • "We read the article in the Sunday Sun on the Fazzini's Tavern and decided to give it a try. We took our two grown daughters and the fiancé of the younger one to enjoy the food and drinks at Fazzini's-- and enjoy it we all did. The food was terrific, well prepared, tasty, varied, and not too expensive. We will be back soon to sample other menu items, like the woodfire baked pizzas!"

  • "From the moment you walk in, expect to be treated like family. So refreshing to see people who are smiling and appear to enjoy their jobs! This goes from the manager down to the buss staff. So helpful and when they ask if everything is fine and do you need anything, they really mean it! As far as the menu, it offers a range of selections so all should be happy. The food, although not haute cuisine , is down home, fresh comfort Italian! Serving sizes are extremely ample , so take home bags are the usual!. Pastas are homemade and excellent! Save room for dessert, as this is one of the best tiramisu that I have ever had. Our server Kris was outstanding! I highly recommend that you give this place a try!"

  • "Very disappointing. Service was very spotty and the food mediocre. I have no desire to return soon."

  • "We had a great meal. The shrimp fra diavolo was unique yet delicious. They had a great wine list, good kids' menu and the bread was great. The roasted garlic in olive oil was also delicious. The menu was full of great choices. The only problem was the service. They are working out kinks since they just opened, so we are understanding to some issues, just not our actual waiter. They seemed to be extremely over staffed, which you could overhear staff complaining about, but that will get worked out over time. Our waiter was very hard to understand, inefficient and extremely pushy. We asked for the check 3 times and he would not bring it. He kept trying to get us to buy more food. After speaking to the owner, I am sure he will get better."

  • "Fazzinis has recently moved to York Road and what a great decesion. They have my favorite dish, chicken piccata. I have been there twice. Ate inside on one occasion and outside on the other. Service is great. Food is delicious. Give it a try"

  • "I am so happy that Fazzini's now has another home with so much more seating! We used to go to the Cranbrook location but the seating was limited. Now they have much more room and a liquor license. Their food was wonderful and the wait staff is very friendly and attentive. They also had some great wines by the glass and an interesting wine menu overall. They have two party rooms you can reserve which I will definitely keep in mind in the future. I highly recommend the new Fazzini's experience."

  • "Restaurant is still new and doesn't have all the kinks ironed out. We'll consider going back to give them another chance."

  • "Food was good. Customer service could be better. Pizza missing a slice & they made another one (said to start on first one while we waited). Found a hair in first pizza & showed waiter who took pizza & brought the other one. Waiter was boxing food & spilled sauce on my mother's white jacket. He tried to remove the stain with hand sanitizer & brought the manager over when that didn't work. The manager however was not very interested in working with us & treated us like nuisances- he did say he would pay for dry cleaning if she could not get stain out but told her she should not wear white to an Italian restaurant. The pizza should have been discounted and the manager could have been a little more empathetic."

  • "I used to go to the "old" Fazzini's for carry-out. I'm so glad that they have this wonderful, new facility that has kept some of my "favorites" and added a bunch of new selections. The asparagus fritters are to-die-for! Great wine selection as well. Have already sent friends here who have thanked me for it! Service was excellent the evening I had dinner even though they were almost fully-booked. I plan on becoming a regular diner here!"

  • "A group of us were there on a Friday. We had gone to the old location in the past and were eager to check out the new spot. The food is every bit as good as it was before in a much nicer space and cocktails. It was busy when we were there but, our service was excellent. Stephanie, our server was friendly and attentive"

  • "Fazzini spent many years tucked away in a neighborhood shopping center. No, it was not easy to find but the food was great and had folks waiting in line, on the sidewalk. Food was always Excellent. Question always was, "In the mood for Italian?", then it was Fazzini's!! Now, they have made the big leap to a much, much larger space. The space is, up front, on York Road in Cockysville; the total remodeling is fantastic! The wait staff is courteous, polite, helpful and professional (and with a sense of humor). The food is JUST as GREAT as in the prior location! Congratulations to Fazzini on the Taverna!! Attached is a wine store with excellent selections. Even better than before! Great location, Great Food, Great Coordination!"

  • "Fazzini's move to a space five times it's size has turned out to be a plus for all of us who could never get a seat in their former tiny strip mall restaurant. The home made pasta is till spot on and they've expanded the menu to include wood-fired pizzas and some nice specials. The new restaurant is quite large with a nice outdoor area and large bar. The service was excellent, with food arriving the appropriate time after each course. So glad to have this restaurant in the neighborhood."

  • "food not so good , not done to standard white clam sauce was not white ,the bolanase was not right everything tomuch money . A glass of house wine was 12 dollars , out of sight Sorry that's how we felt about the place guess the move changed a lot of things"

  • "The restaurant is very classy as far as the decor. Very comfortable seating and layout. However, for me the food did not meet the same criteria. It wasn't bad tasting, just not very notable. Some of the seasonings that are used are different, but different in a not very good way."

  • " tried the taverna for lunch and went at a time in between lunch and dinner and they gave us a lunch menu. we were seated in a booth. they do have a decent sized lunch menu with a nice variety of foods. we split a large cup of the italian wedding soup to start. it didnt look like any wedding soup we had had before, but it was DELICIOUS. we did miss the pasta in it though. it had a creamy chicken base and large meatballs. decided on a basic cheesesteak which was really quite good....shaved ribeye and the bread was very fresh and excellent and so was the prosciutto and arugula pizza. crust was excellent. service was quite slow and we had to ask numerous times for items we needed at the table. sazeracs from the bar were perfect! will be back!"

  • "3 of us thought our entrees lacked flavor. These included chicken Francesca, chicken and veal Marsala. The house starter salad was very good and fresh. Too bad the entrees looked better than they tasted. Our server was excellent and friendly. The interior has been nicely updated from the former PIV's. However, for the price not sure I'd go back with other similar Italian restaurants nearby, that have proven themselves with excellent tasting entrees."

  • "We tried to order a drink using potato vodka (for an allergy), and after explaining twice, the bartender sent something gluten free--which was not what we needed. Didn't seem to understand even though we were pretty specific. Our waiter was very nice, but some of the food took a very long time to arrive-with no explanation. The food was very good and arrived hot, but the service did take longer than expected. We will go again because of the food, but they need to work on training the bar and service staff. I also have to say the martinis are overpriced compared to other restaurants."

  • "Just opened at this location and it is apparent. The host took us to a table baking in the sun and refused our request for a change of table (this table remained empty the entire time we were there). The change was made as we were about to walk out without dining - our waiter must have been very inexperienced and literally became a pest (coming over to the table too many times) and his command of the english language was only fair and we found it hard to understand what he was saying. I strongly doubt that we would return there. We had no objection to the food but the dining experience was much less than it should have been given the above complaints."

  • "My girlfriend and I were looking for a cozy place to eat, and we've been to plenty of nicer restaurants in the greater Towson area. I found this place via Urban Spoon, and as soon as I saw "Fresh Made Pasta" I was sold, not to mention homemade sauces and bread. My brother went to Italy for a summer and came back making pasta from scratch for me every week, and I can honestly say that this is REAL Italian food. Even if the flavors and ingredients are a little Americanized, you'll find gourmet versions of all your favorite dishes - Chicken/Veal Piccata, Lasagna, Wild Mushroom Ravioli, and Baked Rigatoni (for my girlfriend who was a little upset when she couldn't find Baked Ziti). This place is the real deal. TRY THE CHICKPEA FRIES!"

  • "Really enjoy having Fazzini's in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, they took my favorite dinner off the menu - the chicken oreganota! I also ordered a large house salad last time I was there and thought it was pretty skimpy for $11. It seemed like a mix right out of the bag and definitely overpriced for what it was. I will come back and try again - don't want to give up on a good neighborhood restaurant!"

  • "Ordered the veg salad which had very little grilled veggies. This was my main meal. The risotto had no taste. The lasagna was excellent."

  • "After a disappointing first try at Fazzini's, we had the opportunity to try the restaurant a second time. This time, the restaurant did not disappoint! The food this visit was excellent. The hangar steak was amazing and the pork tenderloin a real winner. The pasta dishes were delicious and tasted like the pasta is made fresh in the restaurant. Our waiter was extremely attentive and helpful - the service was impeccable. I feel kind of bad I gave them such a lousy review. I'm glad we gave them another chance. We will return soon. Live and learn. "

  • "While the house-made pasta was quite good, the place was run like they have never run a restaurant before. Several manager-looking types walking around officiously with stern faces, waving arms around & gesturing at the wait-staff. 4 different servers filled our water glasses, while our own waitress couldn't open our wine bottle, then disappeared for an extended period before finally ignoring our request for dessert, instead bringing us our check. Won't be returning."

  • "Fazzini's has been in the neighborhood for years and always produced good food. With the new location, it is all coming together with convenience, good atmosphere, good food and good service. I have visited for lunch and dinner and enjoyed both menus and plan to go back soon. All of the housemade items are delicious and what sets it apart from other chain Italian restaurants. "

  • "WE went to Fazzini's on Saturday, May 31st. There were seven in our party. Of the seven, four people were very disappointed with regards to the meal they ordered. The main complaint was that there food was tasteless. The waiter, although very pleasant and personable, made a couple mistakes with regards to a couple of orders and the service was somewhat slow. All of us had been to the previous Fazzini's and hope that Ari makes it. We know that the Taverna has only been open for approximately a month and, hopefully, the next time we go there, all "problems" will be rectified."

  • "Our server was bad. We waited at least 15 mins before he even acknowledged us. We had to ask for bread after he gave it to all of his other tables but not us. Had a blood orange margarita which was good, but tiny. It was served in a small whiskey glass ($10). Had the queso appetizer which was odd - a glob of goat cheese in a bowl of marinara sauce, served with 1 piece of bread (for 2 ppl). Cream of crab soup was full of shells and the Italy salad had 2 small shrimps on it. Meal took close to 2 hours due to the slowness of our server. 2 tables sat after us and received their food/drinks way before us. It is a fairly older crowd (even late at night) and mellow atmosphere. We would not return. "

  • "At last! I've been looking for good Italian food since we moved to the area 3 years ago. I hope Fazzini's Taverna keeps their interesting menu of Italian classics combined with a few modern touches. I'm still dreaming of their Charcuterie platter with Blackberry Jam. We'll definitely be back for more."

  • "We had been to Fazzini's kitchen many many times and always loved the food and were very excited to go to the new big Tavern that just opened. We were a party of 5 adults and a 14 month old little boy. Our waitress was very flighty If you need something you felt that you need to have a fishing pole or something to grab her as she passed by or you could not get her attention. We ordered an appetizer that took forever to come. Once it came, we explained that we did not want to wait too long because of the baby. His order came in 5 minutes. Ours took an additional hour. The portions seemed smaller and not as tasty as we expected for a two and a half our dinner."

  • "Our server was friendly, but needed more practice. Service was a little slow for a place that was not crowded. Our Greek salad was good, but the chicken panini was skimpy and had no pazzaz. I would definitely give it another try."

  • "Our waitress forgot most things we asked for. We had to remind her of things we asked for. The cook brought out our food and it sat on a service station. He threw up his hands in disgust that there was no one to serve us. Two meals were sent back. Shrimp scampi lacked spices and was just pasta with butter. Supervisor admitted they forgot ingredients. Pasta was mushy...chicken Parmesan was dry...my husband is still complaining. Bill for four was $160 plus tip. They didn't even offer us dessert. It's a shame because it's a pretty restaurant. We won't go back."
