A word from Farmshop LA
Farmshop, opened in 2010, is a Restaurant and an Artisanal Market & Bakery located in the historical 1948 Brentwood Country Mart on 26th Street in Santa Monica.

Jeff Cerciello's cuisine focuses on seasonal local ingredients. Irene Verbila from the LA Times wrote " Sunday nights at Farmshop are devoted to fried chicken… it's the best...but the bird I'm nominating as one of the 10 Best Meals is Cerciello's organic roasted chicken...golden and crisp, the flesh dense yet moist, each bite was better than the last."

In addition to highlighting fresh local produce, Farmshop offers a 300 choice California-centric wine list, a market with curated cheeses, charcuterie, artisanal foods and housewares, all an homage to the many California based farmers, producers and purveyors we are proud to showcase.

The atmosphere was relaxed with the restaurant sharing the space with the gourmet market. The service was good and overall it was a nice experience but I wouldn't make it a point to come back again - we had better food in Santa Monica."

  • "We had dined here several times before and enjoyed the both the excellent service and the fine food. We brought a guest from out of town and dinner was a terrible disappointment. The waiter was new and admitted as much, but at this level of restaurant that excuse doesn't fly. The white wine we ordered came warm, not even room temperature. We sent it back and the second bottle came the same way. We were sold up to a more expensive bottle. The chef was clearly off in his timing, as appetizers we had had before were bland and a steak special came slightly luke warm. And the service remained awful throughout. I finally spoke to the manager, explaining that I wasn't looking for anything free, just bringing the sad situation to his attention."

  • "The gourmet food store part of this restaurant is an adventure and reminded me of shops up in the CA wine country. However, my whole group was disappointed with the brunch menu selection and felt the prices were way out of line with the dishes we were served. We found the menu lackluster so it took us a long time to decide on something that looked good for the money we had to shell out. The environment is lively, noisy and a fun place to go since the little mall is all around you. Our server could not have been more engaging and attentive. But next time, I'd eat elsewhere and just shop the store at Farmshop."

  • "My Book Club decided to dine at the Farmshop LA after a book club signing at The Diesel Bookstore. It was very noisy and crowded (which is good for them-bad if you want to talk) and very expensive. The food choices were limited. Some wanted to order a dinner salad before their entree, but the closest thing they offered was an $11.50 sweet and bittergreen salad (with strawberries, cheese, walnuts......) The entrees were good (I had the trout. The chicken was a generous portion) The wine list was pricey. I'm on the fence about whether or not I would recommend it"

  • "Attended with my family- 5 adults, 1 4 year old little boy. My father's and I's birthday and the food, wine, & service could not have been better. Their recommendations were phenomenal. The Morro Bay Oyster's were incredibly fresh and my octopus was wonderful. They even accommodated our cupcakes which were purchased elsewhere. Excellent place, fun to be, and a very unique set up. Will surely return!"

  • "My girlfriend and I decided to graze our way through appetizers and some of the vegetable sides for lunch. I've never met a rillette I didn't like, and their smoked salmon rillettes were wonderful. The risotto balls were great, crunchy on the outside and smooth and creamy on the inside. The artichokes were a revelation, especially since I usually don't eat artichokes, but these sauteed morsels in salad may help me change my mind. Good food, good conversation. The only damper was a slight lack of attention by the wait staff...we had to waive people over twice (to ask for more bread for the rillettes and to ask for our check). But the joint was jumping, so they might be excused. I will definitely be back."

  • "Living in walking distance to some of the best restaurants on the nation, I rarely venture out past ABK in Venice. However, after reading the reviews for this restaurant I braved crossing the 10 freeway to discover that all the great Foodies restaurants aren't in Venice. FarmshopLA is located in the Brentwood Country Mart. While finding parking may be adventurous, it was definitely worth the 3 circles I made for a parking space. The menu is creative, they offer a variety of selections and the portions are LA generous. The atmosphere is light and airy. This is a great spot for a casual or business lunch."

I would recommend getting a reservation if you want to do sunday brunch here because it was busy even though our reservation was at 9 am. I'm not sure we would have been seated without one. I've been to the marketplace here before but this was my first time at the restaurant itself. Wow. So delicious!! Though the marketplace is delicious too so I was not surprised. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Great drinks of all kinds. We loved the chicken liver mousse! (also the french toast) Can't wait to come back again. :)"

  • "On Sunday's the Farmshop has a set menu including some of the best fried chicken this side of Dixie. May even be better because the meat is falling off the bone tender, has a sweet fresh flavor and is covered with a perfectly crisp crunch that could even tempt a vegan to cheat for one night. The sides are also terrific and a little more hip, like pumpkin puree on this Sunday's menu. Choice of dessert or cheeses is a nice touch at the end. Left smiling and swearing that on monday we would return to eating our kale."

  • "Everything is fresh and expertly prepared, but as brunch fare goes my meal was not exactly satisfying--especially at this price point. To behold, my omelet was a thing of beauty, made by a deft hand with freshest ingredients. But it was far from sumptuous. It was downright boring, especially paired with an equally uninspired arugula salad. I don't pig out on high-cal fare at brunch, but this dish felt downright dietetic. And really, there's no good reason to split and grill a perfectly good croissant, which took on the flavor of burnt ghee. Farmshop took all the joy out of the one item in the dish that should exude rich buttery goodness."
