A word from Farmshop LA
Farmshop, opened in 2010, is a Restaurant and an Artisanal Market & Bakery located in the historical 1948 Brentwood Country Mart on 26th Street in Santa Monica.

Jeff Cerciello's cuisine focuses on seasonal local ingredients. Irene Verbila from the LA Times wrote " Sunday nights at Farmshop are devoted to fried chicken… it's the best...but the bird I'm nominating as one of the 10 Best Meals is Cerciello's organic roasted chicken...golden and crisp, the flesh dense yet moist, each bite was better than the last."

In addition to highlighting fresh local produce, Farmshop offers a 300 choice California-centric wine list, a market with curated cheeses, charcuterie, artisanal foods and housewares, all an homage to the many California based farmers, producers and purveyors we are proud to showcase.

Diner Reviews
  • "I was enticed to come here for the farm to table experience and was satisfied but not overly excited. The food was good, but not really memorable and the portions were a little small. The atmosphere was relaxed with the restaurant sharing the space with the gourmet market. The service was good and overall it was a nice experience but I wouldn't make it a point to come back again - we had better food in Santa Monica."

  • "We had dined here several times before and enjoyed the both the excellent service and the fine food. We brought a guest from out of town and dinner was a terrible disappointment. The waiter was new and admitted as much, but at this level of restaurant that excuse doesn't fly. The white wine we ordered came warm, not even room temperature. We sent it back and the second bottle came the same way. We were sold up to a more expensive bottle. The chef was clearly off in his timing, as appetizers we had had before were bland and a steak special came slightly luke warm. And the service remained awful throughout. I finally spoke to the manager, explaining that I wasn't looking for anything free, just bringing the sad situation to his attention."

  • "I've had lunch at the Farmshop which was quite good but the brunch was nothing special. The main feature was the terrible noise -- the acoustics are just awful and when the place is full it's just this side of unbearable. I checked "energetic" to describe the sound only because you don't have an option for "horrid.""

  • "The gourmet food store part of this restaurant is an adventure and reminded me of shops up in the CA wine country. However, my whole group was disappointed with the brunch menu selection and felt the prices were way out of line with the dishes we were served. We found the menu lackluster so it took us a long time to decide on something that looked good for the money we had to shell out. The environment is lively, noisy and a fun place to go since the little mall is all around you. Our server could not have been more engaging and attentive. But next time, I'd eat elsewhere and just shop the store at Farmshop."

  • "My Book Club decided to dine at the Farmshop LA after a book club signing at The Diesel Bookstore. It was very noisy and crowded (which is good for them-bad if you want to talk) and very expensive. The food choices were limited. Some wanted to order a dinner salad before their entree, but the closest thing they offered was an $11.50 sweet and bittergreen salad (with strawberries, cheese, walnuts......) The entrees were good (I had the trout. The chicken was a generous portion) The wine list was pricey. I'm on the fence about whether or not I would recommend it"

  • "After eating the melt-in-your -mouth bacon at The Farmshop it will never be so good again! Not just the bacon, the orange juice was the best I have ever had as well! Fresh yummy goodness that I will definitely come back for the next time I am in Southern California!"

  • "The menu featured spectacular dishes, all prepared to perfection! Truly an outstanding dining experience!"

  • "The octopus was way too rubbery. And the Rib Eye was barely warm when served. Very underwhelmed."

  • "Attended with my family- 5 adults, 1 4 year old little boy. My father's and I's birthday and the food, wine, & service could not have been better. Their recommendations were phenomenal. The Morro Bay Oyster's were incredibly fresh and my octopus was wonderful. They even accommodated our cupcakes which were purchased elsewhere. Excellent place, fun to be, and a very unique set up. Will surely return!"

  • "Neighborhood Brentwood gem. Amazing bakery basket, delicious coffee, crispy bacon, uninteresting frittata. Next time I'll go for the sweets and coffee and forget the eggs. I didn't see an egg dish that looked mouth watering or even inviting."

  • "We love coming to this restaurant. It is casual, cool, and nice and warm all at the same time. The staff/waitresses are exceptional -- the food is delicious. The whole event is always pleasantly, mentally, upscale, calming, and refreshing."

  • "Farm Shop is consistently one of our favorite go-to spots for lunch or dinner. It is not kid-friendly, however, and the food is a bit too salty and rich. Considering the name, I would expect the food to taste fresher and more "farm to table .""

  • "Healthy and straightforward food well-served. Casual though somewhat noisy, it's a fun spot that's also great for people-watching. The risotto fritters were excellent, as were the crispy artichokes. The steak salad clearly was made from top-quality beef. My mother (who's 95) loved the pastrami on rye."

  • "My girlfriend and I decided to graze our way through appetizers and some of the vegetable sides for lunch. I've never met a rillette I didn't like, and their smoked salmon rillettes were wonderful. The risotto balls were great, crunchy on the outside and smooth and creamy on the inside. The artichokes were a revelation, especially since I usually don't eat artichokes, but these sauteed morsels in salad may help me change my mind. Good food, good conversation. The only damper was a slight lack of attention by the wait staff...we had to waive people over twice (to ask for more bread for the rillettes and to ask for our check). But the joint was jumping, so they might be excused. I will definitely be back."

  • "Living in walking distance to some of the best restaurants on the nation, I rarely venture out past ABK in Venice. However, after reading the reviews for this restaurant I braved crossing the 10 freeway to discover that all the great Foodies restaurants aren't in Venice. FarmshopLA is located in the Brentwood Country Mart. While finding parking may be adventurous, it was definitely worth the 3 circles I made for a parking space. The menu is creative, they offer a variety of selections and the portions are LA generous. The atmosphere is light and airy. This is a great spot for a casual or business lunch."

  • "We like going here because the menu, though very limited, is always fresh and inventive. The staff is knowledgable and seem like foodies (as opposed to actors who wait tables) and we have had great recommendations from them. Expensive but high quality."

  • "Meat was overdone. Not a place to order beef. They do not know how to cook it"

  • "We had a great time! The food was delicious, although we ordered a ton! I would recommend getting a reservation if you want to do sunday brunch here because it was busy even though our reservation was at 9 am. I'm not sure we would have been seated without one. I've been to the marketplace here before but this was my first time at the restaurant itself. Wow. So delicious!! Though the marketplace is delicious too so I was not surprised. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Great drinks of all kinds. We loved the chicken liver mousse! (also the french toast) Can't wait to come back again. :)"

  • "It is! It is lovely! The food, the servers, the place itself, the place where the place is in... etc. Delicious food, during the week and a new weekend/Brunch menu... sweet, nice, and highly professional serving team ... delicious and not too pricey sparkling wine [a personal favorite!] .. A great place to go for the start of your work day or weekend... relaxing, delicious, wholesome food and LOVELY people."

  • "The food was very good, but very expensive (for the amount of food on the plates). Very small place, not comfortable for a larger group. Service was courteous, but not very friendly. Overall -- just OK, not worth the drive from Orange County."

  • "Farmshop brings real artistry and taste to fresh farm sourced ingredients - don't miss the wonderfully inventive side dishes! Service is unpretentious and welcoming but also knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere is contemporary and elegant, but also understated and comfortable. Not too loud & especially pleasant by candlelight. A lovely evening out on all counts!"

  • "On Sunday's the Farmshop has a set menu including some of the best fried chicken this side of Dixie. May even be better because the meat is falling off the bone tender, has a sweet fresh flavor and is covered with a perfectly crisp crunch that could even tempt a vegan to cheat for one night. The sides are also terrific and a little more hip, like pumpkin puree on this Sunday's menu. Choice of dessert or cheeses is a nice touch at the end. Left smiling and swearing that on monday we would return to eating our kale."

  • "I am a regular at FarmShop Marin and I had to be sure to visit FarmShop in Brentwood during my LA trip. I love the creativity and quality ingredients of the Mediterranean inspired menu. The LA location is much more casual but it is just as fun and delicious. Great place!"

  • "The food was okay , but I would not go back. At those prices, there are far better restaurants . We had oysters that were not cold, and had a mango sauce (yuk), we had the $40 steak which was nothing special and slightly overcooked. Not returning"

  • "Overpriced see and be seen place with mediocre food. French Toast looked good but really lacked taste. Pastrami and Eggs - nice looking eggs but just fatty and tasteless pastrami."

  • "Everything is fresh and expertly prepared, but as brunch fare goes my meal was not exactly satisfying--especially at this price point. To behold, my omelet was a thing of beauty, made by a deft hand with freshest ingredients. But it was far from sumptuous. It was downright boring, especially paired with an equally uninspired arugula salad. I don't pig out on high-cal fare at brunch, but this dish felt downright dietetic. And really, there's no good reason to split and grill a perfectly good croissant, which took on the flavor of burnt ghee. Farmshop took all the joy out of the one item in the dish that should exude rich buttery goodness."
