  • "The reservation was only 10-15 mins behind but they gave us a bigger table for waiting. The waiter was busy so it took awhile to get our orders taken but after that she was full attention. The food presentation was very good. The food itself was amazing. Short dessert list but the drinks from the bar were really good. I would highly recommend this resteraunt if your willing to spend 100$ or more for app/dinner/dessert for two people."

We created our own tapas dinner by ordering different appetizers (excellent kalamari, pizza margarita, greek salad, and humous). Humous was okay but everything else was excellent. Service was great and attentive."

  • "Have been to 1149 perhaps 6-8 times and they never disappoint. The decor is top notch and well maintained. The service might be matched by some of the best restaurants but never surpassed. The wait staff knows just when you need them as they anticipate your needs. Friendly and professional. The food is always great. Was there for lunch with my wife and two friends. All raved about their choices and plenty to fill you up and still have leftovers for another great meal. Have since gone back for the Sunday brunch (today) but that will be my next review (hint: another great one)."

Our waitress came to our table and greeted us and asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. When I tried to order a drink she said she would come back for that."

My husband was a little disappointed because he didn't realize you had to order off of the prix fixe menu. (Neither did I). Also, felt like we had to ask for the same things other tables were getting... Bread, attention... The value of price and meal was a little off. The meal cost us $200 but I feel we could've gotten a more valuable meal in the city."

  • "My husband was able to make a last minute reservation here for Valentine's Day. We were very impressed with the layout of the restaurant - sectioned to reduce noise level. Music was quiet and the music selection, for the most part, was appropriate for dining. We were very impressed with the staff interaction. From the time we entered the restaurant until we left, everyone was friendly, eager to accommodate, and made you feel special and welcomed. The food was excellent - good presentation, flavorful and good temperature. We would highly recommend this restaurant, especially for a special occasion! Haven't tried the Sunday Brunch yet but would like to."

  • "No doubt this is a solid convenient option for Sunday brunch. The quality is generally quite good given the constraints of having to feed large numbers of people the same items. They no longer provide a pasta or omelet bar, though you can make requests with your hostess. Pricing is reasonable. Overall, I would recommend brunch at 1149."

  • "Excellent brunch. All food was hot and fresh. I have never had French toast as tasty and tender asit was on Sunday.the interior hadvthe consistency of a smooth custard. The Portugese bread crusts were not tough as is usually the case. Sometimes it seems the chef tortures the bread into submission. Not here. Best I have ever had. Even better is the polite and congenial waitstaff who were ready to help with questions and smiled with patience. Michael was outstanding! Accommodating and cordial while being efficient. We requested and got a lovely corner booth which was private and cozy which enabled us to catch up on thngs. Great food. We love to make reservations through Opentable. We know quite a bit about the company, as my daughter has been an employee there since just about when the company was founded. Love the opportunity to use the website."

  • "Have been to your restaurant many times over the years. Not a fraquent flyer but come several times a year and for work functions,showers, etc. received a gift cretic ate for Christmas and came to dine for a friends birthday. Everything but the meal was good. 2 of us had the filet and it was extremely dry. The baked stuffed shrimp was overdone. Needless to say this was the first time I have been disappointed by my experience. The staff in the bar, the waiter, the maître de were all attentive and polite."

  • "Our group of 8 enjoyed the atmosphere. The servers were very helpful making this a surprise for our honored guest! I was disappointed that several dishes were brought out lukewarm, after waiting a good while for them. The French onion soup was pretty bland and the coffee was poor to end the meal. I have enjoyed the appetizers(pork tacos with goat cheese!) and bar area in this restaurant in the past and thought we would try the rest of the restaurant. Not sure we will try it again."

  • "I went to the 1149 for a birthday celebration for myself. I invited my family. We went on a Sunday evening; it was not busy; I had made reservations. The greeter/host was very polite and courteous. The waitress was very sweet and helpful with suggestions and selections. The service was exceptionally slow and disappointing. There was a private being held elsewhere in the restaurant. Could this have slowed things down in the kitchen? I will not return to this restaurant for lunch or dinner. Obviously, I cannot prevent others from going to this restaurant, but I will not hesitate to share my experience."

  • "Four of us went. Four different meals. All absolutely wonderful. From wait staff to presentation to portion to palate. Delightful. The meal was seasoned nicely, the combinations (grain/starch, vegetable and protein) were simply great. Everyone was supremely happy with their choices.   • "There was a time when 1149 was THE place to go. As recently as three years ago, we enjoyed a lovely surprise dinner for my mother's 70th birthday. I've been back several times since and was less than wowed each time. This last experience resulted in my decision not to return until perhaps I hear news of a new chef. The location is lovely, a very elegant and soothing setting. The service was wonderful. The cocktails were perfect. Unfortunately, the food was well below par for a dining establishment of this caliber."

  • "Eleven forty-nine offers a wide variety of reasonably priced lunch selections. Salads come in two sizes -- a terrific idea. My dining companion and I each had Cobb salad. She had the smaller one and added grilled chicken to it. I had the larger one and found it sufficiently filling with the egg and bacon. The blue cheese was a tad on the skimpy side, but that is my only small complaint. Otherwise, everything was very good. Iced tea comes in a plain or pomegranate flavor -- a choice not often seen."
