  • "Elaia hits all the right notes. Impeccable, attentive service and delicious, creative food. A winner!"

  • "Terrific wine program with knowledgable staff. Menu standouts include the cobia and the burrata. We ate in the Elaia dining room, which is quiet and refined. A swinging scene abounds in their connected wine bar, with different food menu, open garage doors (the wine bar is a converted service station,) and energetic crowd."

  • "Went for my birthday and had the chef's meal with wine paring. Everything was so very special."

  • "My wife and I were very impressed with the knowledgeable, friendly staff. The service was excellent. I did the 4 course menue and I found multiple items for each course that looked excellent to me. The food was beautiful and the preparation spot on. The food tasted exceptional, the only weak link was the beef filet which was was average. The scallop and burrata were my favorite courses. The wine service was excellent, they focus on unique wine varietals from unique regions. I did the matched wine tasting to my 4 courses. I have to admitt the wine was fun and all the wines were nice, but none of them were exceptional and I would not purchase them or select them instead of the wines I buy for my cellar."

  • "The chef, Ben Poremba, is amazing. I eat often at Olio, the place next door. This was my first time at Elaia. It was excellent for a small group (there were 8 of us). Outstanding food and atmosphere."

  • "Definitely one of St. Louis' new top restaurants. You have to try it at least once. We were there on a Wednesday night and after 7pm, it was packed in the restaurant and down in Olio. They serve traditional courses (salmon and filets) as well as unique creations (goat cheese mousse), but the menu changes daily, which is an amazing feat. As we were celebrating a birthday, we really appreciated Chef Ben taking the time to come over and meet with us."

  • "This was a great learning experience with Andrey Ivanov, Advanced Sommelier.More information in epth on the sparkling wines of Franciacorta, their grapes, vinifying methods, ears in the barriques, steel vats and bottles, whether they were machine or hand riddled anmd all the info that a wine geek needs to put his friends to sleep. I hope I don't start quoting him during dinner parties. Andrey never makes you feel stupid when you ask questions about wines, vintages or bhargains. He understand that the important thing is that you should come away smarter not that he should show how smart he is. That is the mark of a great teacher."

  • "Second visit, with a special beer dinner. The food was excellent, though not as special as the tasting menu previously. The beers (from Perennial) were good. The service was off. Way off. Slow, inattentive, cold, and sloppy (stacking dirty dishes on the table?). A massive contrast from our previous meal, but it makes me nervous about recommending Elaia. Our out of town guests were badly underwhelmed. I don't want that to happen again."

  • "Aside from the outstanding quality and great presentation of the food, Elaia had the best service I have experienced in the St. Louis area. From the Valet, to the hostess, the server and the chef himself, we were treated like royalty. Our every need was met without being bothered. We were called by name, and as we were there for our anniversary, we received wonderful wishes and comments from not just one, but most all of the staff. They made it a point to know their customers and cater to their needs. It was a delightful evening. Thank you, Elaia!"

  • "Was an excellent experience. Food ranged from 4-5; would have rated 4.5 if that option was available. Nice touch: wrote "Happy Birthday, Jean on the menus."

  • "Chef Ben Poremba has outdone himself with this restaurant. It is absolutely amazing. It is the perfect place to go in St. Louis to enjoy the most delicious culinary creations in a non-pretentious environment. Love the dim-lighting that makes this the perfect place for a romantic dinner. We went there with 9 guests, so they can also accomodate your group. Our meal was perfectly expedited and the wine pairings were phenomenal!"

  • "The best most consistent restaurant in St Louis now. Always great innovative food."

  • "My wife and I went to Elaia for a Valentine's dinner last weekend, and we loved our experience. Pre-dinner drink at Olio was great, menu at Elaia was even better. Our server was both attentive and knowledgable, and he also served as the sommelier. The wine pairings were unique but thoughtful, and really enhanced the food. I'd recommend Elaia to any adventurous foodies looking for a special night out."

  • "Not since Niche first came to town did I think someone got it so right. It started with a call to ask our names so the menu could be personalized. Everyone from the front door on wished us a Happy Anniversary. The service set the tone for the entire meal. Our server was comfortable , knowledgeable and competent. I changed my idea of a starter based on her description of the mango salad and it was a wonderful suggestion. She discussed the salad not as someone who has learned a speech in the kitchen but someone who enjoys food, enjoys what she does and wanted to share that. It makes a difference. The delicious bread and lemon flavored butter promised wonderful things to come and the meal delivered."

  • "Very good, very expensive. Worth the price? Close call. Ambiance and building very unique, wine list was unique, most of the pairings were from Greece, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Lebanon, etc. food has same influences. Would reccomemd for a special occasion."

  • "First time here and we decided to go all out for Valentine's day (yes, a week early). Food was all excellent. Our favorites were both pasta appetizers and the salmon main course. Our only suggestion would be more of appetizer #2 and less dessert. Our waitress was super friendly."

  • "I had heard of Elaia having dined in the sister restaurant Olio recently. But the experience of Elaia was truly amazing. After making the reservation, the restaurant called to verify if there were any food allergies or if there was a special occasion. I told them that it was my friend's birthday. When I arrived, they had a table waiting with menus inscribed with "Happy Birthday Suzanne", which made my friend overjoyed at being recognized. The food was amazing and the service was superb. I did the four-course prix fixe and it was perfect - just the right amount of food without feeling stuffed at the end of the meal. I definitely recommend this one! The price is a little higher than most places, but the experience makes it worth it!"

  • "Food is excellent as well as presentation, portions are small though. Prices are high, require you to order full meal all at once so kitchen can time the preparation. Im not a fan of this style as timing was fine, but fast. For the money one hour is quick from start to finish."

  • "Elaia is an amazing dining experience in an unusual place. You have about 4 choices for each of the 4 courses and they were interesting and amazing. The sweetbreads were so good. Service was great - thanks Andre and owner Ben. They combine foods in ways that are so creative and more importantly delicious. It's expensive, but worth the splurge if you are a foodie!"

  • "The evening was superb. Our only regret is that we had show tickets to the Fox so we did not get to enjoy Elaia to its fullest. Next time, we will make sure to make Elaia our destination and not the Fox. The service was impecable, the food danced with flavors and the aura was energetic. 5 STARS!"

  • "There are few restaurants in St.Louis with a unique soul. Coming from old Europe, Elaia is in my opinion the one with the most distinguished and sophisticated menu. Every dish is multi-layered in flavor and presentation. It is really a unique palatal and visual experience. Hats off to Ben Poremba, head chef and gracious host, who mixes influences from the Mediterranean region, especially Parma Italy, dining capital of the peninsula, with Israeli and his own life experiences."

  • "Our party of six, originally couldn't get a reservation at 7PM, could only be accommodated at 8:30PM. My note to let them know we would be at the bar, ready to be seated early was taken seriously. We arrived at 7:15, were served cocktails in the tiny bar area without delay and the Maitre D' assured us that he would see about seating us early. We got literally the "best seat in the house", a long table right in the back room with a window only 30 minutes later. Service was fantastic, wines were eclectic and the food was fresh and modern. Congrats to a staff well trained, a chef with fresh ideas, a wine service staff that really knew what they were talking about and an atmosphere that was inviting and comfortable. We will be back! Great Job"

  • "We were celebrating my father's 75th birthday and the food, service and wine all exceeded my expectations. I had mentioned that it was a special occasion and we arrived to menus that said Happy Birthday. This was a very nice touch. The chef even stopped by the table to say hello. We all felt very special because of the attentive service. The menu was a creative mix of dishes and some of them needed explaining. Our waitress was wonderful about repeating herself when asked the same question multiple times. Our food was served in a timely but not rushed fashion. It was delicious. Plates were cleaned. I even asked about reserving for a larger party later in the year."

  • "Wine is terrific, and the small plates were excellent - highest possible ratings. One main dish, a white fish, was good but not excellent. The other main dish, salmon, was quite good. Service as always was tremendous, the ambience was great, and the overall experience terrific. We'll be back!"

  • "A little pricey for the portion sizes. Left feeling hungry. Wine is over priced."

  • "We really enjoyed our dinner at Elaia, but disappointed at the total bill. True, we decided to add the half-glass wine pairings to our prix fixe meal without knowing the cost, but $240 for two people is pretty high for St Louis. Still, the food was interesting, delicious and beautifully presented. I had lamb and my fiance had salmon, both terrific. Service was a tad uneven. The space is interesting, beautiful and romantic. We were seated next to a very loud table of 4, but if not for them, the noise level would have been just right. Will go back, possibly skip a course and go easier on the wine, which will be better for our budget. Great addition to the St Louis dining scene and hope to go there many more times over the coming years."
