  • "We have been visiting Snowmass for more than 20 years. This was our first visit to the relatively new Eight K restaurant at the Viceroy. We had a wonderful dinner - we both had steak that was cooked perfectly. The Lyonaisse Potatoes were delicious as was the sticky toffee pudding. Our service was also very professional and appropriate. The server did not address us as "guys" - which is a pet peeve of mine. My only complaint was the cocktails - my $16 specialty cocktail was so-so, and contained way more ice than any other ingredient. My husband's scotch as also more ice than scotch."

  • "30 Minutes to get a drink when sitting in bar area waiting to be seated. A good 15 minutes for a waitress to come over after being seated. Have tons of wine bottles on display which adds a nice ambience but didn't have a bunch of common bottles in stock. All and all they seed overwhelmed and weren't that busy. Was disappointed."

  • "This was our third visit to 8K. Once again we were struck by the overwhelming number of young children. Fortunately, although we had reserved a "romantic table" we found a much better table in the bar area away from the kids. In the past the food was exquisite. This visit was extremely disappointing. Nothing we ordered was very special and not even cooked properly. My wife''s salmon was overdone (she had not even been asked how she wanted it) and my beef filet was a little overdone as well. For the money, 8K has turned into a loser. On the plus side, the physical environment remains exceedingly wonderful. Nevertheless, this was our last visit."

  • "Food was exceptionally good however service was substandard in all aspects. Front of house management quite uncaring and took no responsibility, just excuses that they were 'busy'. For a restaurant that serves $70 a la carte steaks, the service should match how well the kitchen performs. Courses should not be rushed. Course #3 should not come down on top of courses #1 & #2, especially when the previous two are not finished and plates are piling up on the table. Management must never say they are too busy to provide good service nor should the diners ever be told they need to hurry so the table can be cleared for the next booking less than an 45 minutes into the meal. At $200 a head, customer treatment must at least equal Applebee's."

  • "With the exception of the braised short rib pasta, which had very little short rib, the food was excellent. We had the elk chop served hot, juicy, fabulous bordelaise sauce. The creamed spinach and bacon Kale were both outstanding sides. The "tid bits" we're a fun idea and quite tasty. However, we sat for well over an hour waiting on the first bite. Then, we waited another 30 mins for main courses. The restaurant comped some wine and apologized. Our waitress was very good, but could.not get food from the kitchen."
