  • "Amazing restaurant, great service, food out of this world! I marked "vibrant bar scene" but really it's "Cool bar scene" for adults. The kind of restaruant that can be great for everyday happy hour, or special occasion go-to."

  • "We love Eddie Vs. It's just that simple. The food is always terrific, the service is always outstanding, and the experience is always rewarding. While we typically prefer the Arboretum location (more locals/fewer tourists/fewer polico types), we went downtown the other night around 9PM for dinner. While typically loud, the restaurant wasn't packed and it was a far better experience overall than previous dinners downtown. The menu has a wide variety of excellently prepared seafood. The steaks are supposedly great and I always think I should try one, but it's just too tough to move away from the seafood. Austin does not have many good seafood restaurants, but this one is by far the best."

  • "Although I've eaten at Eddie V's before- for business and social stuff, I made an effort to make this special for my GF's birthday, by calling ahead and letting them know it was her birthday. When we got there I felt the table they sat us in was not the most desirable, and it took a while to get the server over for our drinks. After I brought his MIA status up when he came over he was attentive from there on. Nevertheless, I felt that by advertising that it was her birthday, we were treated as "non regular" customers (IE not as valuable)- I ordered a dessert and they delivered (and they even comp'd it) overall very good, but act like a regular to get a good table."

  • "Always order seafood fare and the twin Lobster tails were perfectly prepared and excellent. I was later told that the 49 day aged filets are the best anywhere and we plan to go back an find out. They have the twice baked potatoes but we miss the basic crispy outside baked potatoes for steak fare. Still wondering why you can't get the once baked potato?"

  • "I came here to celebrate my boyfriend's bday. Food = 3. Service = 5. Ambience = 3. Food was a mixed bag. The crab cake appetizer was delicious! Huge lumps of crab meat and practically no fillers. Meal breakdown: 8 oz. steak = cooked perfectly. Lobster tails = gross. So disappointingly overcooked that they were crispy on the outside and tough on the inside. My boyfriend spit out the piece I gave him to try to make sure I wasn't crazy. So, we sent that back. They sent over another set of lobster tails. That one was still overcooked! I was over the lobster tails at this point and chose the scallops, which were cooked perfectly...except they were drenched in a butter sauce. Service was great but inconsistent with seafood."

  • "Every time I come to Austin for business, I make a stop at Eddie V's. It has become one of my favorite restaurants while traveling. The service is spectacular from entering the front door until the bill arrives. It is truly and enjoyable dining experience with delicious food. Eddie V's is a place that I always recommend to anyone staying in Austin. After dinner there is always a vibrant night life in downtown Austin if you care to experience what Austin has to offer."

  • "The food and service was a complete joy. We were celebrating a birthday of our son and the server was wonderful and brought out a cream brulee decorated birthday plate. The men had bone in ribeyes and they had exceptional taste. I had a redfish dish that was superb. We will definitely return. The Moore's"

  • "Our table was ready early, with red rose petals and a card from the restaurant. The evening was relaxing with an attentive waiter, but not bothersome. From the crispy oyster appetizer, scallops, redfish with crab, fresh bread, all were perfection. Our dessert, flaming bananas foster, with Happy Anniversary on our plate, wad the best we have ever eaten! The night was special and Eddie V's made it happen."

  • "Fresh, delicious food paired with excellent service makes this one of Austin's best! One of the best desserts I've ever had. Definitely worth the menu prices if you're looking for an upscale meal to celebrate an occasion or have a nice date."

  • "I went to this place on 4th of July for dinner while visiting Austin for a wedding based on reviews and convenience since I stayed at the Courtyard which is 1 block away. I found the food quality very good, but overpriced compared with other comparable restaurants. Also, the waiters took way too long to get my order. Initially one of them came to my table right away and then it's like they forgot I was there. They either got distracted or basically didn't care. I finally got their attention and complained they had made me wait about 15 min. I was about to walk out. They did get my order done and again, the food was good bit the service left me with a bad impression. I won't be back."

  • "The lobster was very surprising as a taco! It was fantastic. The stuffed shrimp and the steak were also very good. Banana's Foster at the table made it a perfect meal. Will definitely revisit this one. I will also see if the one in Dallas lives up to the one in Austin and Ft. Worth."

  • "Had an amazing pre-birthday celebration dinner on a Saturday night. Luigi was our waiter and did an excellent job and joined in on our laughs at the table. The food was outstanding, the service was on point, and the ambiance was great. Highly recommend this place for celebrations or just to enjoy some amazing food."

  • "A group of 9 of us went for a bachelor party dinner. We started off the night with a round of sazeracs that tasted exactly how they should have. The wait staff was very knowledgeable about the menu and suggested a few off the menu items. One of our group ordered an off the menu dry aged ribeye and it was amazing. The other members of the group ordered various types of steaks that were all cooked perfectly. I personally ordered a 22 oz ribeye, rare, and it was perfectly cooked. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good steak in the downtown Austin area."

  • "We have eaten here several times, as well as the La Jolla location; consistently superb. It was our anniversary and everyone went out of their way to wish us well. The food was cooked to perfection and served professionally. Our table was beautifully decorated and the wine, even by the glass, a nice match. Given all the hotel construction in the area, this restaurant is perfectly placed to be in walking distance, thus avoiding Austin traffic. A definite must stop on the Austin food scene!"

  • "So my wife and I were celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary and wanted to have a nice dinner with out two son's. First place that popped into our heads was Eddie V's. It's fine dinning, yet they always make everyone feel at home and welcome. We have only lived in Austin for a year now, but this is my favorite restaurant in Austin so far. You will enjoy the food, service and surroundings!"

  • "Our waiter was the best I have ever encountered. He took the time to explain, describe, conversate, and recommend while giving us exemplary service. Food came hot and timely. Filet mignon was melt in your mouth AND cooked to perfection (well done is my preference). The band wasn't too loud or overbearing and we were seated right next to them literally. This Alaskan will recommend Eddie V's to anyone and everyone I know! "
