A word from eat here - Siesta Key
The Eat Here restaurants in Sarasota and Anna Maria Island were recently selected as two of Florida"s "Best New Restaurants" as part of Florida Trend's Golden Spoon Awards. The award was particularly gratifying for the team at Eat Here's parent restaurant, the Beach Bistro, which has long been enthroned in Florida Trend's "Golden Spoon Hall of Fame" and ZAGAT's "Top Restaurants in America.

Eat Here was previously selected “Best New Restaurant” by newspapers on Anna Maria Island and in Sarasota. The third Eat Here has now opened on Siesta Key to similar rave reviews.

Eat Here celebrates chef-crafted, Gulf-Coast cookery featuring presentations of local farm products, fresh, locally-caught seafood and inspired pizza and tacos. The Eat Here bars serve traditional and creative cocktails, craft beers, and wines from pimarily family-owned vineyards.

Eat Here’s chef staff is trained in the Beach Bistro's school of commitment to culinary excellence.

Diner Reviews
  • "Nice place to walk to in the SK Village. Good tacos and nice casual place. "

  • "We have been there several times over the years. However, this will probably be our last. It was not crowded and service was very spotty and not particularly friendly. Their signature pot roast had to be sent back for raw potatoes! They no longer serve bread with meals , but, you may purchase some. Overall, I found it to be very mediocre. Also, the room could use some updating."

  • "The food at Eat Here Siesta Key is wonderful. I always end up ordering the grilled fish special of the day or the salmon. It comes with the sweet corn casserole which is the best. I could have that as a meal! My friend ordered the Mahi fish tacos and said they were the best she ever had. Coming from a New Englander, that is quite a compliment. It can get pretty noisy, which is the only draw back but the food helps you overlook that."

  • "Menu seemed limited for a Sunday. No valet parking and parking is an issue. Server answered most questions. Limited choices for our older guest. Settled for a grilled cheese sandwich. Fish tacos were great. I expected larger shrimp for the entrée. Pineapple cake was a tough texture. Generous portion for crème Brule. Coffee was not very hot."

  • "Good place, small with a good menu. Food is excellent. Only drawback is the high noise level"

  • "Dinner was at 6:30 and dining area crowded but spaced out fairly well. Lots of children and very loud but expected. That is what makes Siesta Key exciting! I would recommend for a fun and relaxed group of people."

  • "Unfortunately we had a waiter on his first night at Eat Here. He tried his best and was very polite. We were disappointed after we had the speech about how every thing was cooked to order all freshly prepared. My Daughter-in-law loves seafood and said even her shrimp was over cooked. My son ordered the veal meatloaf and it looked as though the slices had been pan fried, all dark and hard around the edges. My dinner & my husband's were edible. The best part of dinner was the delicious Onion Soup and the Titanic salad. No rolls or bread were offered with our dinner. We would return for lunch for the soup & Salad"

  • "The bruschetta was wonderful, although the grape tomatoes would have been easier to use if cut in half. Our seafood was very tasty and the roasted green beans were addictive!"

  • "Very tasty food. Service was excellent and attentive. Server was knowledgeable. Menu was varied enough to please many types of foodies. You were not hurried although restaurant was full. Lots of hard surfaces in the room made the noise level very high. Could use some softening touches to mitigate sound. All in all a very good experience. Would definitely recommend eat here and will go again during our stay."

  • "We enjoyed our meal here ,booked through Open Table ,and on a very busy evening the reservation was noted and a table found .Although we did ask for a high table the reception had not read the notes in the request . The meal was very good ,fish pate starter excellent and my husband enjoyed the pot roast . I had Monkfish which was good . Dessert are also very good ....all in all a very welcome change from some of the restaurants in the Village and a real PLUS to be able to reserve a table ."

  • "I was looking for an unqiue food experience and I found one at eat here. A number of unique and excellent menu items. The meatloaf was excellent, the quinoa salad was very good and my kids were able to find seafood selections that were very flavorful. Definately worth experiencing if you like unique food flavors."

  • "Overall good experience. Highly recommend the mango sauce ribs. They were particularly well cooked and excellent. Service was friendly and efficient and prices reasonable"

  • "We visit Eat Here often. Every time we have out-of-town guests we bring them to Eat Here and everyone is very happy with the food choices and quality."

  • "We always enjoy our dinners at Eat Here. My husband raves about the ribs which he describes as just a bit different but wonderful with the meat so tender it falls off the bones. I had the salmon with horseradish sauce. I must admit the salmon was so good plain with the spices they cook it with that I didn't touch the sauce which I had served on the side. My all time favorite is the sweet corn suffle that they serve as a side......it is wonderful. Everything we have had here is very good. Our only complaint is it can and often is very noisy. We put up with it because we like the food and we can walk there. We'll be back!"

  • "Hillary was the perfect server. She made sure we were well cared for throughout the dinner. Food was really good especially the surf and turf special. The turf alone was perfect."

  • "We were disappointed in our meal. Food was just OK, not nearly as good as when this restaurant opened a year ago. We had the feeling most of the entrees were pre made. The meat loaf was dry and did not have much flavour and had a very solitary, lonely single slice of mushroom on top. The bruschetta was also disappointing - didn't use Italian bread, pesto was dry and the roasted tomatoes would make a lovely vegetable, but they don't work on top of the Bruschetta. Overall, a disappointing meal."

  • "We were seated immediately and our drink orders we're taken. We were given ample time to peruse the menu and our food came out promptly and was hot and delicious."

  • "We had a good sampling of the menu at our table of five. The signature cocktails were great. The kale salad was tender and tasty. The appetizer version of the ribs was really more like a lunch as it came with slaw and potato salad. The onion soup was great but the heart attack hot dog was really salty. Our dinners were well prepared. The shrimp wee a bit small and lacked real flavor but they were the only just ok dish we had. The only downside was the noise level. Think college bar scene volume. The table across from us was especially bad and once they left and a few others cleared out it did get better"

  • "Wonderful sauce on wild Alaskan salmon. And just in time for happy hour prices on wine and a cocktail. Full-bodied, rich French onion soup. Friendly and knowledgeable waiter was very helpful in guiding our choices. Need to find a new source for coffee. Too chilly to eat inside. On a side street so out of the traffic and noise."

  • "food was excellent. Perfectly prepared, nicely presented, served appropriately hot. The service; however, was terrible. It was not only slow, but the server appeared flat and uninterested. We asked her questions about the menu. Her answers were vague. Once food was served, she seemed unavailable. Unfortunately, our intimate dinner was not all it could be. We noticed other servers engaged their clients. Hopefully our experience was an exception."

  • "We went at 5:00 and sat at the bar . The happy hour small plates looked delicious but we ordered off the main menu. I had the fish of the day cooked with their special house seasoning and light lemon and light pesto and the corn pudding/soufflé . Absolutely the best flavors ! My husband loved his Mahi fish tacos. They had a great wine list and Stacy and other male bartender were extremely nice and welcoming. We went on our last night or we would have gone back ."

  • "Visited on a Sunday night for dinner. Sevice and ambiance were good. Fish Tacos and Pot Roast entrees were yummy as was the Tomato Soup. Ceaser Salad was dry and tasteless. Overall a good dining experience but do not order the Ceaser."

  • "I would not suggest dining here with anyone you would like to have a conversation with… It was so loud we had to shout! Love the food, and had it been warmer out we would have requested to be moved outside so we could talk without shouting. This has been an issue since they opened, as we have dined here previously. Wish they would do something about it… Great food… too loud inside!"

  • "Simple decor, great wait staff. My wife had coffee and coriander rubbed filet, I had fish special with corn casserole. Both had excellent sauces. Kale Caesar salad was inventive and tasty."

  • "The people who work here give this restaurant the WOW factor! They remember you were here before, greet you when you come in, wave to you across the room and stand by the door to say goodnight. How cool is all that!"

  • "We live 2 miles from this restaurant and eat here often. We like the atmosphere and the food. Unfortunately we had a bad experience this past weekend as we had a 6:15 reservation but didn't get inside the restaurant until 6:28 because we could not find a parking space. Once we got in we immediately went to the hostess and she said our table would be ready in a few minutes. As we were waiting another couple walked in behind us, said they had a 6:30 reservation and a guy who had just walked up and who we believe was the manager sat them immediately, before us. We had to wait another 15 minutes and had to sit at a high top table in the bar area with our 6-year old son to even get seated then."

  • "The food at Eat Here was good, although the menu seemed less inventive than I recall from last year. Service is cheerful, there is a decent selection of small plates, and the wine options are varied in price and selection. I'm not sure I would go back soon as there was little "wow" to our meal or to the ambiance."

  • "We own a place on Siesta Key, so when Eat Here opened up on the island, we were thrilled! Have always had a great experience with the wait staff, who appear to know every ingredient in the menu items & the food has never failed to please! That's why we always go back -- AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN!"

  • "This is an interesting place to dine. Menu is on pages held to a clip board. Makes for a funny intro to a dining experience. Food is very well prepared and brought to the table when ready....sometimes that means not every plate arrives at the precise same time but all is served when hot and peak of taste. Food tasted very fresh and flavorful. Chefs know how to prepare and serve an excellent meal. Server was very knowledgeable of menu and service offerings. Very attentive wait staff with many pitching in to help when a busy spurt required it. Try the early bird specials with $5 mini plates and $3 draft beers-great way to economically check out the place and enjoy appetizers before the main meal. All in all worth the trip to Siesta Key and"

  • "This restaurant is deliberately odd. They don't want to be just another place to order veal parmesan. So traditional diners need to come with an attitude that expects the unusual. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't. There was only one menu item that really appealed to my traditional husband, veal meatloaf. He thought it was delicious."

  • "Had a great birthday dinner for our daughter while vacationing at Siesta Key. Food, wine, atmosphere, and service were great. They forgot one of our appetizers, brought it with the main dishes, and didn't charge us. Best special restaurant on the island."

  • "We have eaten at this location twice recently. Both turned out to be great. Food is not gourmet, but it what you would expect for the price. Service was great and overall experience excellent. A food critic was next to us and she loved it all, her partner said to get the meatloaf next time, so it mus have been awesome. Go for a great experience! The downtown Sarasota location is great too, but very noisy!"

  • "We found Eat Here on Siesta Key to have a menu with great variety not only in type of foods but also price and portion size. Everyone at our table enjoyed their choices. The wines by the glass were good quality and a nice pour. Our only concern was the poor acoustics that required us to speak loudly to be heard at our own table. Nonetheless, we would definitely come again."
