DANTEGraduation DinnerI chose to dine at Dante for my graduation dinner this past weekend. I have been there before but this time took my parents. We all loved the food and the service was impeccable, as usual. The server suggested great dishes and drink selections (pork chops, red snapper, beef carpaccio appetizer). Dante's never disappoints.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was excellent. The service was excellent. Everyone taht worked there was as nice as could be. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very friendly.
The food was outstanding!!
We can't wait to go back.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMHeard Dante was fabulous and it wasHad Chef's taste menu w/wine. Charcuterie board was enough for two w/the savory terrine & velvety liver mousse standouts. Warm buffalo mozzarella salad was excellent but Pickled Hearts of Palm salad was overdressed. Carbonara was creamy, buttery, bacon-y grownup "mac'n cheese" indulgence. We were both served the rib eye which was flavorful w/o too much rosemary. Odd my dinner partner was asked at the time of ordering how he'd like his steak done but I (the orderer of the "Whim" tasting meal) was not. Luckily it came prepared perfectly medium-rare. The sunchoke gratin was a unique side eaten by both the cooked veggie lover and the cooked veggie hater. Wine pairings excellent but we would have liked to know more about each. Brulee to die for.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent, as always. TheExcellent, as always. The porterhouse steak for 2 was among the best steaks I have ever consumed.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat eveningOur evening at Dante was wonderful. Great food, attentive, professional service and fab cocktails. I loved that there were two rooms - one quiet and one energetic. We will be back.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food in a fun,Outstanding food in a fun, sophisticated urban atmosphere. One of Cleveland's very finest restaurants.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWell served and interestingI was in Cleveland on business and was sent to Tremont for the bar scene and a great meal. I wasn't disappointed. The service was beyond exceptional and the food was delicious. I particularly liked the option of tasting/appetizer/full portion for a section of the menu. You can't go wrong here!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant!Great service! Great ambience! Great food! I thought it was a little too salty on some of the dishes and the steak was not that tender. I ordered several courses and couldn't finish. I usually do not get full, so this is good. The wine list was wonderful, but could be expensive if you wanted to go beyond the glass of wine. The room was acoustically noisy because it was a converted old bank, but I didn't mind that. I recommend this restaurant. It is expensive, but to have this level of service and care in the building along with great food, it takes money to do so. Tremont seems like a neat area with many restaurants and things to do. I want to go back.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice restaurant. NotVery nice restaurant. Not a huge menu but enough variety to please everyone. I like the option to pick different sizes for a selection. Many selection had a tasting size, an appetizer size and a main dish size. A very nice idea for portion and cost control.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis hidden gem is the bestThis hidden gem is the best restaurant in Cleveland, hands down. How it hasn't attracted more attention is beyond me. I have eaten there twice in the past two weeks, and expect to eat there many, many more times.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great dinner at Dante!Another great dinner at Dante! The food never disappoints!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMost authentic Japanese SushiWe dined at Ginkos downstairs and it was fantastic

this side of Japan Try the tasting menu and let the
Ginkos team introduce you to what sushi is supposed
to taste like you won’t be sorry4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMIve never had such great winesIve never had such great wines paired with my meals..Dave is an excellent bartender.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA great dining experienceA great dining experience from start to finish. Beautiful setting, especially the gazebo room, in back. House made salumi platter was excellent, as were the homemade pastas. Menu format allows diners to sample several dishes. Will be back!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place has quickly becomeThis place has quickly become one of our favorites in Cleveland. I just LOVE Dante's!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second visitThis was our second visit to Dante (the first was 6 months ago), and the food was even better than the first time. We love the menu with its many different choices and portion sizes ... the only problem is deciding what to try each time. Our server was genuinely enthusiastic and friendly and she helped us narrow down the choices so we could enjoy the right combination of items. Tops on our list this time was the lobster spring roll, which deserves a more delicious sounding description ... it was rich and filling, so much more than an ordinary "appetizer". Our main course was the Skuna Bay salmon, which was encrusted with Maryland blue crab and whole mustard ... I like salmon in general but this was a unique preparation that was suberb.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service and food. OverallGreat service and food. Overall excellent experience.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMYou gotta have the late nightYou gotta have the late night pork broth ramen noodles...Wow.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe totality of the experienceThe totality of the experience at Dante's was top notch. The serve was attentive and thorough while explaining the nuances of the menu and the myriad dining options. The food was expertly prepared, with fresh silverware arriving prior to each course. Personally I am not a drinker, but my date assured me that the wine list was deep and extensive. The valet parking eliminates the worry over finding a parking spot in the crowded community of Tremont. I will be returning soon to Dante's.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMYou can bank on Dante! We loved everything about out visit. The beautiful glass fixtures & the most comfortable chairs we've had in a restaurant made us want to linger. Our server, Keith, was outstanding; enthusiastic & knowledgable about the menu, attentive to us & our requests,& had a ready smile. He exemplified Dante's aim to please attitude. The 3 tiered menu was perfect for any diner's appetite for adventure. There were at least 8 selections in each tier. It was easy to create the ideal meal by choosing from 3 portion sizes offered. Every item we ordered was prepared to perfection and presented beautifully. We were treated by Phil to a tour of the cozy private dining area, the kitchen & met Dante himself, creating food art in a surprisingly small space. Bravo!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing - hands down Cleveland'sAmazing - hands down Cleveland's best restaurant, in a town with some really great options.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, good portion sizes,Great food, good portion sizes, great service. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. Equally good as a special occasion place or a casual after-work place.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA truly special mealWho am I to critique such an acclaimed chef? I will say we greatly enjoyed our 5-course Whim Tasting Menu experience. Even though portions were smaller than normal, we were stuffed before we got to the entree. This may have slightly diminished our appreciation of the last two courses (the leftovers the next day tasted even better). I don't see how anyone can finish a 14- or 21-course in one night (there's also a 7)! We should have passed on the complementary and delicious bread and fantastic hommus. Allow at least two hours for the 5. At more than $60/person, we won't do this often. The space is beautiful and service was perfect. We look forward to going back to try all of the dishes on the regular menu.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit toThis was our first visit to Dante's and it definitely lived up to all the great reviews we had read. From the minute we walked in the door we were given top-notch service. My husband ordered the quail and raved about it. The Louisiana Redfish was light and flavorful just like our server said. The barley and sweet potato risotto was to die for but next time I'm ordering the "tasting" size - "appetizer' size was too much especially since we also ordered polenta which was delicious but more than enough for two. Dessert was wonderful - coconut creme caramel was light and chocolate banana crepe was excellent but very rich & a bit heavy after all that food! We are already planning our next visit.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMnoise level tipRegarding noise level: the front room is extremely noisy as one might expect, it being an old bank lobby. We sat in the back room, which they call the gazebo. It is much more quiet. The trade off is missing the energy level of a crowded noisy room.
This was only our second visit to Dante's and it reaffirmed our delight. We enjoy the other well known Cleveland established restaurants and have our favorites among them, but Dante's is different. I think we will be visiting more often.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways outstanding. It'sAlways outstanding. It's nice to know that Dante is always in the kitchen. Outstanding wait staff. Thanks Richard, Darlene, Michael and Manny.
David and Victoria are great at the bar. Phil is a great manager.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I both had soup.My wife and I both had soup. Mushroom soup and an amazing Lobster, Leek and Potato soup. Both were great. We both wanted to try the cheicken dish and it was amazing. Presentation was perfect. The intricate layering of flavors makes this something we will try again after we burn through a few more items on the menu.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA very good restaurant thatA very good restaurant that could hold it's own in Chicago or New York. My only problem with it is that like so many contemporary places the lighting is very very low, but I fully understand that most patrons probably prefer that.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat All Around ExperienceAwesome experience. Thank you for the amazing service Richard!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
