"While the food is excellent, the prices here are extremely high, and once you add the fee for parking at the restaurant, it makes for a very expensive evening. On top of that, our server made multiple attempts to convince us to purchase more expensive items (a bottle of wine that was $20 more than the one we were looking at, and a $70 steak...) and it came of as a bit pushy. Aside from all that, the view of Lake Union is beautiful, the restaurant decor and ambience is outstanding, and again, the food is indeed excellent."

"We were disappointed. We expected outstanding steaks but what we received were only mediocre. Mediocre in taste and mediocre in tenderness. Nothing was outstanding, although the wine list was extensive. We only ordered one appetizer and shared it, wine and our main course and still the tab was well over $200 for just the two of us. The wine was not the most expensive on the list. We would not go back and would not recommend it to friends."

"We were excited about the "three course brunch" advertised by Daniel's Broiler for Easter Sunday, and pleased to learn that they could accommodate my gluten intolerance. While the main course (a superb filet mignon) was wonderful, the starters were hit and miss (clam chowder was a hit for my husband, shrimp salad was nothing to write home about for me). And that third course? Turns out the scones on the table when we arrived were the "scone course" as described by our taciturn waiter who liberally showered us in exasperated looks during the meal thanks, we guess, to our two children (who were actually extremely well-behaved). Calling the bread served with a meal a "course" is ridiculous for anyone but even more insulting to a celiac."

"The most congenial and rewarding of the Seattle steakhouses. Not an ostentatious circus like El Gaucho; not a generic, unvarying experience like Ruth's Chris. Pitch-perfect service and flawless food justify the tab."
