  • "Admittedly the first time we went was only a month after they had first opened.We were with another couple,and everything was off except for the wine choices. This time, on a busy Saturday night, we went early , ate in the bar area, and everything was perfect. We were server by bartender Charley,who gave us great food recommendations. We had excellent entrees[ whole bronzini and sirloin special],all cooked as ordered with nice accompaniments. We hope to go back soon."

  • "Our first experience at Cunningham's was a good one, although finding your way to the restaurant from the parking garage was a bit confusing. Started off with a Flatbread for an appetizer. Outstanding! Grilled Bronzini with a side of sauteed spinach for main dish was also outstanding. Wait staff very attentive and knowledgeable. Although a bit pricey it was certainly worth it! Will definitely make this one of our favorite dining spots. Thank goodness finally a decent restaurant in Balt. County!"

  • "I didn't know what to expect as I had heard some good things about the restaurant but hadn't looked at any other reviews. I was so happily surprised that the restaurant experience was amazing. The bar space is beautiful, as is the dining room, however we chose to dine outside. The service was AMAZING, our waiter was so friendly and speedy. The only input I would suggest is for their valet to be more clearly marked as parking was very confusing when we first arrived. Also, although many restaurants do this, they only serve Happy Hour fares in the bar area... we should have just ordered a second round before being sat at our table. GREAT experience altogether!"

  • "We came for brunch so I can't review the bar scene or what the evening dining is like. The brunch was very good and creative. Dining room is fresh and lovely atmosphere. Service was fair even though the waiter, Chris, was nice enough. had to ask repeatedly for stuff. We'll go back again for the food though!"

  • "Wife and I have been for dinner and it was great, brunch however needs work. We started with Cheddar Cheese Biscuits, it states on the menu implying more than one...we got one cold biscuit on a small plate. Their mimosa, while good, is a very small pour, had that been my $8 mimosa instead of my bottomless $12 mimosa's I would have asked for it to be removed from the grill. I got shrimp and grits for my main, while flavorful and good, a restaurant of this caliber should have given about 3 very large shrimp to accompany the grits. Instead I got about 10 small, tailless, clearly frozen shrimp, the kind you find in shrimp fried rice, disappointing. Wife got eggs Benedict, had that been screwed up the should just cancel brunch, hers was fine."

  • "The service was great. We had walked on quite a humid morning and were pretty warm when we got there. The host made sure we were seated in a cool spot far from the door and near the air conditioning so we could cool off enough to enjoy our brunch. The pastry sampler the waiter recommended was amazing!"

  • "This restaurant definitely exceeded my expectations. I was seated right away and my server Nicholas was extremely attentive and definitely very helpful when it came to describing the dishes. The room was a bit too chilly for me and it took the dessert a little longer than we expected to come out but it was a wonderful experience nonetheless."

  • "This is my second time visiting this restaurant. We were there shortly after it opened. First of all, the restaurant itself is very pretty, love the "hip" feeling. The service however is deplorable. It's been a long time since I had service this slow and this bad."

  • "They must have been having a BAD night at Cunningham's last Saturday night! We ordered drinks that took FOREVER to get to us. Then ordered appetizers and entrees. We waited forever for the apps, only to have them bring our entrees! They FORGOT the appetizers! They did say that the entrees were "on the house" because of the mistake, which was the right thing to do. However, I expected more from this restaurant. Given the prices, the service should be much better."

  • "In Cunningham's,Towson finally has an entre into the upscale dining arena. A restaurant fit for foodies, it has a large, separate bar area with outside tables, a food bar where the diner can watch the chefs in action, as well as quiet dining areas. Food preparation and presentation far exceed the mundane. Wait staff were exceptionally attentive on a moderately crowded Saturday evening. The only puzzle is why jeans and casual shirts(bulges included) for wait staff? The trendy, not too formal, décor creates a modern casual atmosphere on its own."

Steak Tartare and Brucata flat bread were big hits. Andrew, our waiter, romances the menu so that we always look forward to returning to find out what is new and special."

  • "We had a very nice birthday meal on a Sat night. Very nice ambiance and views with excellent service comes with a price. Reisling was very good and the t&t was also but it was in a small glass. Entrees (crab cakes and bronzini) were excellent but the accouterments with both were toooo strange and foo foo. Dessert was excellent The complementary indoor valet is a very nice feature and includes their direct elevators"

  • "This was my third time at Cunninghams. I have always thought that the food was good and creative and interesting. This time we went for my dad's 80th birthday. The service was ridiculously slow. My dad ordered an ice tea and the sugar didn't come until 20 minutes later. We ordered wine and 15 minutes later the waitress comes to the table to take our food order and tells us the bar is backed up. The place was not crowded-it was July 3-a holiday weekend. I so badly want to love this place. The decor is beautiful and the menu great for foodies but the poor service will prevent me from returning for a long while."

  • "We had a 6:30 reservation, we got there at 6:20. We ordered by 6:45, we got the entree at 7:55. The appetizers were great to read about but not notable, the salads were damp lettuce. We were not impressed. If this had been a first date instead of a 24th anniversary dinner, it certainly would never have gotten to the alter. We had a gift certificate. We advised the gifter not to eat there. We did thank her for the gift of discovery without expense."

  • "When all 4 members of a party give the unanimous review of 'mediocre' on their dinner, you know there's a problem. 4 different entrees, 4 similar responses in terms of food overcooked, over salted, and generally a big disappointment for the price. There are too many other area restaurants that might not be as pretty a setting but prepare much much better food at more reasonable prices. The menu was also a bit limited, with only one chicken dish. The a la cart sides were much better than what was offered with each dish but the kitchen was amenable to substituting - and each of us substituted as well. OK wine list and even the desserts were only OK. Not worth it for the price so doubt we'll be back."

  • "All I could think of was La Cirq at Bellagio in Las Vegas upon entering the main dining room of Cunningham's, its beautifully appointed. We ordered a mix of appetizers - the oysters from raw bar were top-of-the-line but overpriced. Mushroom soup was superior, as were the fried oysters in cornmeal. Asparagus Salad was excellent, but we would have preferred thicker asparagus. For entrees: the crab cakes were worthy of MD fine dining, the portabella mushroom was a vegetarian's delight, although earthy, and the rib eye was well-trimmed, perfect medium-rare, beautifully presented. DO NOT skip dessert, we ordered five for a party of five and nothing was left! The coffee was only ordinary. The service attentive but a bit slow."

  • "This restaurant has so much going for it, but the noise level makes for a terrible experience. Our ears were ringing. Aside from that, the pastas, appetizers and sides are all noteworthy. The mains seem rather high priced so I have steered to the smaller plates all of which are beautifully presented and equally as good. Can't wait to try it again, but early on a not so crowded day."

  • "My husband and I found Cunningham's pretentious. The restaurant is trying way too hard. Wine list on an Ipad? Really? Completely unnecessary. In spite of having an Ipad wine list, the server took our order using a notepad and pencil. Really? Our favorite comment of the evening was when we were asked about "water service"..."sparkling or still?" Really? It's water! My husband never comments on fashion, but like me, found the servers' attire just silly; once again, trying too hard to be be trendy, hip, etc. Perhaps more attention should be given to the food. My husband's $40 rib eye included tendons and muscle that made it difficult to eat. The tables are too close and the noise level makes conversation difficult."

We also had the fried oyster appetizer which was delicious, but could have used another oyster. Our waitress was friendly and did a good ;job."

We almost left after being abandoned on the outdoor patio for at least 15 minutes with only water, no bread. Thankfully, we stuck around for what turned out to be a very good meal. It is always a shame to see a stellar kitchen underserved by waitstaff."

I had to ask him his name, what the specials were and we waited a long time with empty plates to be cleared. When having this kind of meal I expect the service to be at least on par with the food."

  • "Shared a birthday dinner with a close friend. The room is beautiful and the staff is welcoming. I ordered a Paloma cocktail and stumped the bartender. The result was not too great, but the server researched tin her phone and we found why it went wrong. And she comped me a "ring day", a vodka, pomegranate juice drink that was satisfyingly. The first courses, ricotta gundi and ramp butter toast, were wonderful. The gundi, light, little pillows of ricotta with a Meyer lemon sauce, were delightful. We split a half serving and found it most satisfying. We followed with 2 fish entrees, Bronzino and halibut. Both I lived up to the first course. All in all a great dining experience!"

  • "This place is such a gem. The bagby group did everything right. I love the other restaurants of the group in the city but this one was special. The porkbelly and shrimp dumplings were great as well as the halibut and steak. Wine was also wonderful."
