A few people in the party were not impressed with their dinners ( a bit under seasoned) but we would all definetley go back again and have recommended Cotto to others already. The wait staff was a bit overwhelming, but very helpful and friendly so it was okay when three different people asked if I wanted another drink. The food was delicious and with all the choices our waiter was very helpful in making our decision easy. We wanted to give it another try because the waiter
Was new and the restaurant was fairly new.
Service the second time around was better,
but far from very good. We did not have one
specific waiter, rather 2 who were not in
sync to each other and at time service was slow.
We will go back because we really like the

I had the mare cotto for dinner, which is basically like a seafood pot pie. My only complaint is that even for tapas, the portions were small. If you go to the restaurant Barcelona, which is all tapas - the portions are larger for about the same price. But other than that, it was a great experience and I will definitely go back. We were the last ones to leave the restaurant and nobody was shooing us out, which is also great - they really cared about us as customers.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe will try Cotto againOverall the food was good with the exception of the veal milanese. The chopped salad and beef carpaccio were very good. The chicken scarpiello entree was also very good. The veal milanese however could have been much better. The veal was overcooked, dry, and a bit on the salty side. A nice wine selection (although they did not have my first choice in stock), and the ambiance was vibrant. We shared friend artichokes, clams casino, beef tartar and for entree my husband had lobster ravioli and I had pizza with arugula and prosciutto. For desert we had tiramisu. Food was different for all fresh ingredients. Had a good selection of gluten free meals.
We were all very pleased with the place and a good time was had by all.2/6/2013 12:00:00 AMA New Gem in StamfordHave eaten twice at Cotto, and was blown away both times with the tasty dishes.
They are still working out the serving kinks with 5 different people waiting on your table and nobody communicating in the back. (Had to ask 3 times for a second glass of wine in a wine bar!) To the credit of management/owners, second glass was not on the final bill, so a rough patch was perfectly handled.
We look forward to many more delicious meals at this new gem in Stamford's pantheon of good Italian dining options.2/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant is warm andThe restaurant is warm and inviting. The wait staff are fabulous, you never have to ask for water, or wait for a plate to be cleared from the table. The food is delicious, brick oven pizza was yummy, and they have a decent wine selection.
For lunch they have a great deal with an entree + salad at a very reasonable price, so if you need a bite to eat after shopping at the mall, or before a movie, this is a great place to go.
