  • "I REALLY like this place, but the Entrée consisting of 3-pieces of lamb was poor. The top piece with bone was 50% fat, the middle was perfect, the bottom was overcooked and like leather. This is the first disappointing thing I have had here. Everything else was great and I really like the eclectic selection of beers."

  • "We had two birthdays to celebrate, and we wanted to go to a "nice spot". We were hoping that the windows would have been up so we could all sit "outdoors", but that wasn't the case. We got a table outside, and really...it was very nice. It's too loud inside to chat amongst one another. Because it was Monday, they had the fried chicken special, and 3 of us enjoyed it! We stayed until it closed, and we ate and drank to our hearts content! Thank you Corners Tavern!"

  • "Three of us came from San Jose to celebrate a birthday lunch. All of us loved our selections! Our server was attentive and very pleasant. One of us had the papardelle with lamb, she raved about it. One had the Cubana sandwich and she thought it was perfect. I had the fish and chips. My only complaint was there were only two small pieces of fish. It was very tasty though and the fries were excellent! A great birthday celebration! Oh! the cocktails were delicious too!"

  • "Ate here for lunch during the week. Usually a good spot in Walnut Creek. But, I had the Cubano sandwich and the pork was really dry and overcooked. The french roll it came on was over toasted which made the sandwich even more dry. I'd go back again because it's a pretty good place. But, I wouldn't order the Cubano again."

  • "We stumbled upon this restaurant which was a couple of blocks away from the main drag. Great outdoor dinning. Wonderful menu options and a cool vibe. The food was terrific and the service was good. Everything you would hope for. Plus it wasn't pretentious.... Maybe a bit pricy but hey; its walnut creek!"

  • "We dine here about once a month when we feel like a casual and convenient night out. We are unwilling to compromise on food quality and we never go away disappointed. Seems like we always try something new to eat and always try an interesting wine. Our server Brian is consistently charming and attentive. I especially love warm evenings when the wall is open! This time we tried the lamb tartare for the second time and the tweaks to the recipe were spot on. The seafood fettucine was delicious as well."

  • "Had a wonderful dining experience at Corners. From the minute we entered Corners we were greeted by a friendly hostess and immediately seated. The waiter was the best and made the evening fun. He was friendly, knew the wine and beer list and made suggestions. Finally the food - very good and the portions were just right. My companion is vegetarian and the menu had many delicious options. We've been coming to Corners Tavern since they open and enjoy the neighborhood feel of it. We've always had great meals and the service is outstanding."

  • "Went on a Tuesday evening and had an outside table. $30 dinner special started with a great zucchini soup lamb was a bit over cooked but strawberry dessert was excellent. Other meals were very good. Wine list is heavily weighted toward expensive to very expensive. Service was friendly and attentive. All in all a pleasant dining experience. Will definitely return"

  • "First time visit on a friday night 7:30, reservations not really needed. Next time I would request table near or outside of two massive garage doors for patio type dining. menu changes daily, no specials, good array of choices, but limited in number. larger portions $19-26 per entree. seafood pasta excellent and ale battered halibut light and fluffy. Wine by the bottle overpriced for quality offered. great beer selection."

  • "Dinner was very good and the service was good, except for one small thing. The waitress forgot to put in our salad orders that we were to have before our entrees, so we didn't get the salads but she very generously gave us our desserts for free. It worked out fine and we had plenty of food. The ale battered flounder was excellent, as was the salmon and one person had the hamburger and they said it was also excellent. I would highly recommend Corners Tavern."

  • "Good bar and drinks, tasty appetizers (esp. the smoked chicken wings), and cool indoor/outdoor vibe (glass garage door literally lifts/lowers to expose restaurant to the street). It's rustic industrial (to me) - exposed metal beams, wood seating and trim with industrial-style lighting. Usually good service with minimal wait time to be seated."

  • "Made reservation and got confirmation from Open Table for party of 7 at 7:30. Received message from restaurant to confirm our reservation the day before we were to dine there to find out our reservation was for 1:00 pm. Was told that they would try to accommodate us at 7:30. I told them they better since I got email confirmation. The day of our dinner, we show up at 7:15. Restaurant checked us in. The computer screen shows our party to be 7 while the hostess asked if we had 6. Where did that number come from? She said she had a table for 6 waiting for us but since we have 7 they need to set another setting. Huh? Food was just ok. They ran out of steak at prime dinner time. My son was disappointed since he had his heart set on steak."

The waitress we had provided slow service and practically forgot about us as we noticed tables that got seated after us were getting their food first. Then our waitress was MIA for a while as we were trying to get a status on our orders. Our food would have never arrived if we didn't ask another waiter who did pick up our food from the back and served it to us. The food was good but our veggies were over salted. Too bad our first impression of this spot left a bad taste for us to come back. Food selection was good, service needs a bit more training keeping tabs on their tables."

  • "The atmosphere was so nice -- they had the "garage" doors open so the whole restaurant felt outdoors and the weather was perfect. The seating is comfortable, but the tables were a bit close together. Good menu -- several starters as well as a variety of entrees. We started with the ceviche and the mussels. The mussels were tender and flavorful and the ceviche had a bit of a kick to it. Large portions which are great for sharing. My husband had the flounder which was breaded and fried and I had the salmon. Both dishes were very good, although the salmon was a bit undercooked for my taste. However, they remedied the situation -- no problem. We will eat there again since there were other things on the menu that we'd love to try."

  • "I am a frequent customer and have taken many friends to Corners. Service is usually top notch. Last Wednesday we had whom I assume was a new server. he completely placed my order wrong, ordered something I had not, fish tacos. When my friend's food arrived I had to correct the situation and wait a fairly long time for my correct ahi seared tuna salad. He had talked us into a Greek Wine which was nice, it might have been nicer if that were taken off the bill. I told my friend to go ahead and eat or her food would get cold. He also had to reorder her fries which she had wanted very crispy. I know these are small things, but this fellow really was not like the other serves I have had. Pleasant, but I would have liked my order the first time. "

  • "It was a nice warm evening the garage doors were up, a nice breeze swept through the restaurant. Our server was fun and knowledge able, the food was amazing. The bar had a nice selection, but missed a beer or two if you are a craft beer nut. We went on a double date, to hang with some friends we hadn't seen in a while. The noise level was so high, that it made dinner not worth it. We were at a four top, and could hardly hear what they other person was saying. If they can get the noise under control, this would be the best place in Downtown Walnut Creek."

  • "We were a group of 4 and dinned for the first time here after finding on open table. Good experience overall. Would have liked to see a larger menu but everything we tried was great. The pork chop was the best. We ordered a variety and sampled family style. We could have ordered one more plate and been more satisfied but the individual portions are sized appropriately.   • "Upon arriving for our dinner reservation, the receptionist forewarned us they're anticipating a busy evening. The waitress rushed us the entire time, not even bothering with "small talk." Ceviche appetizer was good. My husband ordered the pork chop and enjoyed it. My daughter and I ordered the homemade fetteccini with seafood. Pasta was good but seafood was overcooked and tough. Disappointing since previous meals were decent. Will be a while before I return."

  • "I go here because I like the atmosphere. The service is just fair most of the time. The servers are nice- they are just inexperienced and not very efficient. and the food also fair. The bread wasn't fresh, and I got a stomach ache after eating the wings. I'd recommend sticking to the bar- drinks only"

  • "We went for lunch and enjoyed a great meal. The asparagus salad which was on the menu but recommended by the server was great! The portions for appetizers and entrees are good sized. The only flaw on this visit was a little slow on the service, had to remind the server a few times on items that were not received. Not a big deal though, I would definitely go back and recommend to anyone to try."

  • "I had eaten here before for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I do not suggest this restaurant for Mother's Day. The service was slow, the food mediocre, and they had run out of one item. It was also difficult to get help regarding what we wanted after the meal had arrived; mustard, extra dressing etc. I was really disappointed."

  • "We went to Corners Tavern on the Saturday night before Mother's Day. I wanted to try something new. Restaurant was very cozy in ambience. Food was good. Our table ordered the NY Steak, Pork Chop, Seafood Fettucini, and the Kale/Roasted Root Veggie Risotto. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal, although I was a little disappointed in the risotto. It was risotto style, but did not use the arborio rice --flavors were good anyway. The desserts -- especially the carrot cake with marscapone icing and the chocolate cake were spectacular. We will definitely go back and try some other dishes. Waiter was lovely -- did not rush us even though the restaurant was busy. We so appreciate being able to dine in leisure."

  • "1st dinner - amazing. 2nd dinner - even more amazing. 3rd dinner - not so much. Cod was fishy and bland. Snap peas - don't compare to the brussel sprouts. My husband got the kale risotto - which he had before and was very good. My son had the fish/chips also good. I guess I was the unlucky one. Had the cod on my last visit - but this night just didn't compare. Perhaps it was an off night. I will try again. "

  • "When we arrived the place was really busy and packed with people, luckily we had reservartions so we where seated after about 5 minutes. The ambiance of this place is what I think truly sells it, it is beautiful inside and out. The inside of the restaurant opens up to the outside patio when weather permits and the hanging lights make it look almost enchanting. Our server came by promptly and asked us what we would like to drink. Now what I wasn't at all happy with was the food.. I was utterly disappointed by the food, the brussel sprouts that many rave about where ok by my standards and don't even dare order the chicken wings they're terrible! No flavor at all... Try if you want but I wouldn't recommend this place."

  • "First Time at Corners Tavern. For restaurant week I sat indoors near the windows, where I could watch people deal with the few sprinkles keeping us diners indoors. It was a very relaxing and the service was prompt and attentive, without hovering. Lovely lunchtime atmosphere. For lunch I selected the potato arugula soup, the trout, and a rhubarb pastry. The soup was not bad. The desert was a yummy bite. The trout was really, REALLY good -- excellent!"

  • "This was about my 8th time here. This time I brought a friend who's from BY and quite a cocktail and burger fan. We both ordered the burger (my first time) and wow! Juicy, thick, robust, cooked to perfection, this was superb. The bun was toasted just right and I only added a bit of mayo. It was lovely with just the veggie accoutrements. My cocktail ("Bees Knees") was luscious and tangy. The beer ("The Heretic) was just bitter enough. The server, a young fella named Shannon, was perfection. It was a perfect pre-Latin night meal!"

  • "Came out on a friday night for dinner with some friends. The place was getting busy (we came in right before the evening rush) but the bar was hopping. The menu shows thoughtful food combinations with some artistic flair. I had the caesar salad which was good. They have the more paste-style dressing on theirs with good balanced flavors. I prefer more bright garlic and citrus in mine, but theirs was very good for restaurant dressing. Dinner was their burger while my table mates all had the chicken. Burger was good. Not sure what could have elevated it to great. The chicken was prepared well and presented nicely. Our server was attentive and the drinks were very good. Overall a nice night with good food and friends."

  • "For $20 for a 3-course lunch during restaurant week, it was a very good meal. I ordered a salad that was decent, which was greens and root vegetables (radish), seared trout with greens and chanterelle mushrooms, which had great flavor and the fish was perfectly cooked, but it was much too salty. For dessert, I had toasted olive oil cake, which was unique and delicious, with frozen mousse and I believe it was orange sauce. Very tasty! The ambience is very cool with 2 distinct styles on the restaurant side versus the bar side. The service was good and fairly prompt."
