Diner Reviews
  • "We spent a pleasant evening with friends at Corleone's. Although located in downtown Savannah, it's casual atmosphere and laid back ambience reminded me more of a neighborhood restaurant. Valet parking ($6) makes parking a breeze in an area with very limited parking. Service is good and fast and portions are generous. Also has a nice bar serving very good and generously poured cocktails. This restaurant serves good basic Italian dishes at a moderate price."

  • "I think the kitchen and wait staff need improvement. Our food took a long time to get to the table and so did the yummy pomegranate martini's. We had to get our last round in to go cups."

  • "We were visiting Savannah and were looking for a quiet spot to catch up with family over a great meal. Corleones delivered big time. The ambiance was great and conversation was easy. We started with drinks and on the waiters recommendation my wife had a glass of Malbec that she said was outstanding. Our mussel appetizer was terrific . Everyone felt there main courses which included veal, salmon, " frute de mare" and egg plant were excellent. Overall if I was a resident, I would return on a regular basis."

  • "Booked our table online after seeing this restaurant a few times, always with people waiting outside. Popular because the food is really very good. Portions were very large (side orders of meatballs & sausages were huge), meat sauce was authentic and the lobster ravioli was to die for. We'll be back."

  • "After a house and garden tour we were tired and hungry. The restaurant was recommended. It is large and simple, a bit dark and seems well suited to large groups. The food came out very quickly and the salads were fresh. This restaurant is popular because the portions are large. If you live nearby and can bring home the leftovers, that is fine but passing through, it is hard to take home the leftovers from the three billiard ball size meatballs (as advertised, no fillers, just plain hamburger) that are served with the spaghetti. The lasagna was covered in a very chewy layer of cheese with little flavor underneath. Having been used to the Italian food in the North End of Boston, it is hard to find words to describe this Italian meal."

  • "As we travel up and down the East Coast we love to stop in Savannah and recharge. The abundance of great eateries is a primary reason for stopping here. This visit we dinned at Corleone's Trattoria. Our table was ready on our arrival and the service was quick friendly and most knowledgeable. The food was authentic Mediterranean and was prepared with local ingredients. The Spanakopita was the best we have ever had. The wine list was more than adequate and all listings were available by the glass."

  • "This is the best Italian food our group has had since we have been down here 7 years. The sauce is great, the portions are good and the cannoli's are the best ever."

  • "We loved everything about Corleones! Menu is so thought out and paired well! Portion sizes are big, food is phenomenal, and service was outstanding! We recommend for cocktails the blue razz lemonade & the mr wonderful. Appetizer ANTIPASTO!! Salad the blueberry spinach salad with pancetta and feta is unbelievable! Baked manicotti is so cheesy and the marinara sauce is bright and flavorful. Penne ala vodka was great! Cannot forget the fresh bread and the wonderful season Olive oil to dip the bread into! It is the best ever! And dessert! I have never had a creamier or tastier cheesecake in my life and the tiramisu was incredible absolutely perfect! We recommend to any and everyone. A must visit in Savannah for sure. The wait staff is so nice."

  • "I have taken my wife to Corleone's for our anniversary twice now and both times have had outstanding service and amazing food. This is one of the best places I know in the area for Italian dining that is worth the price. I will return and I'm sure it will be as pleasant of an experience as I've had the past two times."

  • "My granddaughter and I ate here because she is a student at SCAD and needed to purchase art supplies from the store nearby. The food was delicious and servings were large. She had chicken and I had salmon. Both were delicious. I could eat about a third of mine so we took the remainder back to her dorm for the next night's meal. She finished her meal although I don't see how she could have eaten so much. The bread was delicious and the dip was especially good. We had excellent service and food. Our only complaint was a noisy baby that the daddy eventually carried outside so we could hear. Parking was scarce so we parked behind the Firestone store and walked a couple of blocks. We will be back!!"

  • "I had the baked cheese tortellini with the meat sauce and it was amazing! My date had the spaghetti and meatballs with meat sauce and he really enjoyed it. The portions are VERY big so you will definitely have food to take home! Overall, a great place with great food!"

  • "The atmosphere is very romantic and the service is great. My husband ordered the surf and turf kabobs and said the meat had no flavor and thought his meal overall was not worth the $28 price. The cous cous was excellent, but that was it. I ordered the chicken fettuccini Alfredo and it also was lacking flavor and a bit watery. We will go back to try different things though."

  • "The restaurant is beautiful and the owner has an excellent idea. The waitress we had was not trained well. She frequently left us unattended and we would have to flag her down. Our entree came out before our salad and appetizers. It took so long for our complete meal to be served that the tables on either side of us had sat, served and cleaned up from two groups each. The food was Well put together but completely lacked in seasoning. The veal was also slightly overcooked. They were extremely busy, but that is the test of a well put together restaurant- How well they operate under pressure. We certainly felt like we were being served by the C+ team and the B- team was cooking. I am a professional chef and was unimpressed."

  • "Everything that came to the table was fantastic. The staff was friendly and knew the menu and wine list. Entree portions were enormous, however. Be prepared to take something away in a box!"

  • "I was looking for a special evening destination for some Italian cuisine. Having had lunch at Corleone's before, I felt this would be a good opportunity to experience the dinner scene. We arrived just before 7 on a Friday night and were immediately seated at a table for 2 in the corner. Our server was fantastic, having water brought to the table along with our menu's. The lighting was low and the noise level was a bit elevated, but with a full restaurant this was to be expected. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer and entrees of Carbonara and Manicotti. For desert, a creme brulee to share. All dishes were brought out quickly and our glasses never emptied all night. The food was perfect, drinks strong, and amazing desert."

  • "I've been in Savannah for about 10 years, and decided to try out Corleone's. I've seen the so-so reviews, so I was ready for anything. All in all, it was just kinda blah. Not great food, not bad food. Not great service, not lousy service. I'm not going to say don't go there, but if you can get reservations at Leoci's on Abercorn, go there. Luckily I had great company with me."

  • "Enjoyable evening. Place was full and lively with a pleasant laid-back atmosphere. Excellent service. The food matched the environment, it was good, large quantity, enjoyable. If you are looking for a sophistication and haut cuisine, this isn't it but for a casual Italian dinner downtown, it's good."

  • "Started off the night right by having valet parking as soon as we pulled up and seated right away with our reservations for 4. Table size was cramped for a 4 top with not enough room for all place settings, appetizers, and a bottle of wine. Waiter was knowledgeable of the wine list and made a good suggestion based on our feedback. Antipasto was a weird mish-mash of french brie cheese, asiago cheese, prosciutto and a mini greek salad. Entree's were well prepared and of good size with 3 out of 4 having left overs for take home. Over all a good place to take a family but the name is intended to suggest more of an Italian fare then is actually their make up. In the end a good meal for 4 at $140 before tip."

  • "We are transplants from the Philly area, John is full Italian and grew up learning to cook from his nana and his mother. It rates highly with him! If we didn't live a bit of a distance in the suburbs we would definitely come more often. We take family and friends here when they are visiting. Corleones has never disappointed us!"

  • "Have been to Corleone's a dozen or so times. Our last visit was typical of each visit, this time though we were having a extended family dinner during the holidays with a party of 8. We always get calamari as an appetizer and it didn't disappoint this time either. Shrimp Fra Diavolo has a right amount of spiciness. Chicken & Eggplant Parm is very consistent & a lot to eat - you won't go home hungry. The only note was the lasagna was overly cheesy this time with a bit too much ricotta. I'll note that the waiter was great. We were in a slight rush to get to another event and informed the waiter upon ordering. He worked well to get our orders in quickly and then kept us abreast of the time to make sure we finished in time."

  • "Be careful about the specials! My girlfriend got the ravioli special....which ended up being $32 on the bill?! It was DEFINITELY NOT worth $32! I wouldn't go back."

  • "We had 5:30 reservations for 12 to celebrate a birthday. The hostess welcomed us an told us our table was ready. She was super nice. Some in our party were a little late getting there, but the server was understanding and brought our drinks and that wonderful bread. The food was outstanding and I will be going back soon. I just can't say enough about the service and the food. It was a good experience in every way!"

  • "Service was great and the bread was fantastic. We both ordered the Chicken Parmesan which was $20.00. It was two nice pieces of breast greasy fried and stacked so only one piece received the mozzarella cheese. The other piece had nothing just hiding under the cheese covered breast. The chicken was tough as shoe leather (both dinners) It was over cooked and the breast had not been pounded. We were served in this nice big bowl but only about 3-4 ounces of spaghetti with an oversweet sauce.. Very disappointing. I do not understand how a chef can take a $1.50 piece of breast charge $20 and ruin it not too mention be cheap about it"
