Diner Reviews
  • "This is a highlight of the south end. What a great place to have a meal before getting on a flight at SeaTac. We will start our vacations here from now on! Food was prepared very well. Service was perfect. We will be back."

  • "We love the hotel and wanted a special last night of vacation dinner-so we reserved at Copperleaf. I had the wild boar and it was delicious. My husband enjoyed the spare rib. The best part of our fine dining experience was how they treated my kids. They had a great "young adult" menu with very parent friendly prices. Better than expected. Their food was of good portion and just as high of standard as the adult food. They even had kid desserts. It made our meal even better that we could all enjoy high end food together. The desserts were tasty and the overall experience was worth it. Kudos."

  • "The lobster bisque was good, but not excellent. I had the duck, as a main. The confit portion was good, the breast was very bloody, which was ok, but incredibly tough. I could barely cut it with the knife I was given, and had to chew FOREVER. The skin was also salted beyond reason. Add to that the bread buttered with their signature salty butter (which I love), and I puffed up like a dehydrated balloon just before my flight. They threw in a tasty little amuse bouche and a gnocchi kale course which was heavy, but surprisingly bland, making it a strange meal all together. This has always been one of my favorite restaurants, but I'll think before hurrying back."

  • "This was my 3rd great meal in recent months at this fabulous restaurant 5 minutes from SeaTac that is inside a great little hotel. A welcome change from airport hotel fare. Truly top notch creative food and wine list."

  • "You would never know you were by the airport. This property has created an ambience that brings you to a wooded retreat with Japanese gardens, No need to drive to Seattle to experience a five star meal."

  • "The tasting menu with wine pairings was outstanding! Particularly good were the apple "salad" the scallop and the Meyer lemon dessert. The shirt rib was fine, but not the taste treat of every other course. The wine pairings were outstanding! It was nice to see the range of Washington and Oregon wineries represented! I would have preferred a table near the window. We were seated near the bar and the crowd was rowdy for a bit. It was much better after they left. I'm not a fan of the large chairs which make private conversation difficult. Overall, though, this is now one of our new favorite restaurants, particularly when returning home from a business trip! While only 5 minutes from SeaTac, it seems a million miles away!"

  • "I've been fortunate to experience many wonderful places for a great meal as I travel for a living. Without doubt Copperleaf is a top 3. Exceptional service & food.....a rare combination today. A true hidden gem that even most locals are not aware."

  • "As usual, the food and presentation was over-the- moon. It's all about flavors......fantastic flavors. The one and only thing that bugged me a little is the wait staff ask CONSTANTLY how things are. That can be disruptive, especially in the middle of a conversation, and I think that can be cut back A LOT. But I am all for being taken care of while there. It's a great place, and I can't wait for the spa !!!!"

  • "We had the 5 course Chef's tasting menu and it was superb. My husband says it was the best meal he has eaten out in Seattle - ever!"

  • "The first time in several years I had a dining out experience in which everything was good. Every course was fabulous - looked good, tasted good. The wait staff was attentive and informative, though they need to slow down when describing items. The ambiance was good. This was by far the best dining experience I've had in a long time."

  • "there were four of us in the party. The service was excellent and Toby was our wait person who was very accommodating. One person in our party had the rabbit and was disappointed. Many of the portions are quite small. All in all, we enjoyed the meal and the ambiance. We have been several times as well as dining in the cocktail lounge."

  • "This quiet hidden Gem Is the quiet place to go for a condensation with that special person or friends. The ambiance is exceptional in it's northwest lodge theme and the food is exceptional with a menu that does not compromise and based on seasonal availability. The presentation of the food, the quality, and the service makes this our go to place for visiting friends or when we want to go for a quiet lunch or dinner."

  • "This is a special place, relaxing, un-crowded, in a beautiful atmosphere. It's wonderful to have it in our neighborhood!"

  • "We were very disappointed with the meal. The menu was pretentious, unappetizing and overpriced. We hoped to have a good steak with decent veges and herb butter. the lobster bisque looked like mud and tasted like mud! the cold potato was lacking in flavor. If you say caviar sauce then put some caviar in it!!!! The sole was mushy! the "entree" was miniscule (2 scallops with a few spinach leaves and 3 thin slices of parsnip and the ribs were stringy and came with nothing!!! the pear sorbet was nice but we passed on the other dessert. the description put us off. Our wait person was very good and attentive."

  • "Copperleaf keeps getting better and better. Every single thing about our recent visit was wonderful. Remus, our waiter, was knowledgable and very helpful. We had our anniversary dinner at Canlis in Dec. Dining at Copperleaf was just as great if not slightly better experienced. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "This restaurant is hidden in a quite little neighborhood, everything about it was excellent, love the valet parking, Our waiter was knowledgeable about the unique dishes served, timely and efficient! We LOVED our dishes,Sablefish, and Tender spareribs among salads soups and delicious desserts! We invited friends and everyone really enjoyed it all! The food snob!"

  • "This was our second visit in 2 months. November dining experience was excellent. Recent experience was less so. Ambiance is pleasant, but we were seated immediately next to an exit that was used several times during our meal. While salad was very good, salad brought was not as ordered. Lobster was fishy tasting and rubbery, probably as I should have expected for the price, but still a disappointment. Wait person did bring mini dessert to offset incorrect salad. We are undecided if we we return in future."

  • "This restaurant was a real find. I wasn't expecting to find a place of such high quality in the airport area, but it certainly is tremendous. It will be on my list for future trips to the Seattle area."

  • "We were using the last of our gift certificate credit (that we had bought for ourselves on one of their rare discount offers), and was able to use it with no difficulty. (There was some confusion with the first part of the credit a few months back, so this was a relief.) Had a nice table in front of the fireplace and was served well--attention when we needed it, left alone when we didn't. Had a couple of dietary needs, taken care of with no problems. Would definitely recommend, and will be back."

  • "We were there for lunch on a rainy day. Even then the view of the grounds was beautiful. Can't wait to go in the spring to walk the grounds. The food was exceptional. The 4 of us each had a different dish and all agreed that they were very good. It was a wonderful place to catch up with old friends. Not very busy that day so we felt it was OK to sit and talk for awhile. We will go back to try different items. Our server was friendly and took good care of us. All in all a great place to go for lunch. We will have try it for dinner soon."

  • "Copperleaf Restaurant is just a few miles from the Seattle-Tacoma Airport, but you'd never know it. Located within the Cedarbrook Lodge, it is located nestled back behind a neighborhood and is a small oasis in the middle of a busy city. It's truly an undiscovered treasure for the area, which is part of the reason my husband and I enjoy eating there so much. You definitely need a reservation, but the intimate atmosphere, the lovely large fireplace, and the absolutely masterful bites make this the best dining location in the area - if you can afford it. Copperleaf is by no means cheap, but you get wonderful farm-to-table, fresh ingredients expertly executed by one of the best chefs ever. It really is SeaTac's best kept secret."

A great plane to meet for a leisurely lunch, with great service, and an opportunity to carry on a conversation without feeling rushed nor intruded upon. Will definitely return!"

  • "I have been to Copperleaf a number of times and I think by now have tried everything on their seasonal menu. Everything from top to bottom is outstanding and among the nation's best. Keep it up!"

  • "This is our favorite restaurant and so review is based on repeat dining experiences. The food and service have maintained their high level of excellence since when The Copperleaf opened. I like this consistency. We are always made to feel like special dining patrons. The dining area is small and intimate. Love sitting by the fireplace in winter! Their winter menu offering some game meats and chef does an admirable job with recipes and presentation."

  • "I needed a place to meet for a business lunch with a person flying in for a few hours. The food was excellent, the setting was beautifully indicative of the pacific northwest, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. It was a key part of a successful business relationship."

  • "I was looking for a special spot for my wife's 85th Birthday. In restaurant review I found the Cedarbrook Lodge restaurant "Copperleaf". This is way off the beaten path east of SeaTac Airport in a idyllic parklike setting. The restaurant itself is down in a tall high ceiling setting with a great view of a landscaped wonderland with a fireplace set against the window side. The menu is not extensive but very select with great description of the of the food and drink. There was a murmur of people present but nothing intrusive to our conversation. The server was outstanding, the food delicious, the wine selection great. All in all it was a great occasion for us and I strongly recommend to all."
