Diner Reviews
  • "Copperhouse has a large variety of beer on tap. The bar is definitely bustling after work hours."

  • "Clean, great burgers, good service, good beer and ale selection. I had the Tuscan Burger and the IPA flight and enjoyed both. One minor complaint is that things got very loud."

  • "My cocktail should have been served with pride considering it is a Premium Bourbon. It was one-shot short of a neat bourbon. My friend was served a straight-up mixed manhattan, which is what I changed my second and final drink too. My party slimmed out as all expect on Friday's, however, our waiter was gracious and accomodating, even though he attempted to splash a straight up glass that was full, to the table without a try to catch the spillage. I lost more liquor in the second drink, than was in the first...."

  • "I am not from the area. I found this very nice space on Open Table quickly. We ran a little late but were greeted professionally and seated at a comfortable booth. I had a nice quality steak sandwich. It was a packaged kind of thing I think as they were not able to do medium rare at my request but the taste was very good. The presentation was thoughtful as well. The beer was tasty. (I will go back) and the service was attentive, positive, friendly, and timely. My associates and I had a very productive business lunch. I would not hesitate to host people there again."

  • "We were nervous about eating here becasue it is attached to a Best Western - we have had experiences with bad food in some restaurants associated with Best Westerns. The food was excellent - we were pleasantly surprised. The steak tips were delicious and the shrimp tacos were spicy. The Ceasar salad was a bit dry. Service was alittle slow but pleasant."

  • "I met a friend for a Sunday early lunch. It was conveniently located. I did not know that it was connected to a hotel, so it might be crowded at a different time of day. When we first arrived, the area where we were seated was extremely cold. We asked 3 times for the heat to be turned up before it finally was, halfway through our meal. Our waitress was attentive until we received our meal, then was nowhere to be found. I requested mustard (for my burger), which did not arrive. Finally I flagged the hostess, who found our waitress. When she finally brought mustard, it was a plastic bottle of French's yellow, which she just set on the table and walked away. That was the last time we saw her. Fortunately the food was good."

  • "Our waitress barely came over to check on us. Then when we wanted to pay she never came for the check so we had to ask another waitress. Mind you, this was a $250 bill!"

  • "Great beer selection. Food was good, service was good. A spot for a casual Friday night."

  • "I found this restaurant using open table. The menu is fantastic. I was with a party of 7 and everyone liked their meal. Don't let the fact that it is attached to a Best Western hotel sway you!"

  • "We found Copperhouse Tavern on Open Table, and the menu looked good. We were concerned when we pulled up to the restaurant to find it was attached to a Best Western hotel. This was NOT a good sign to us, but we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in to a lovely place with an extensive menu and friendly service. Everything we tried was delicious and creative. Especially the grilled avocado stuffed with mango-pineapple salsa! I would not hesitate to recommend Copperhouse Tavern, it is a true hidden gem!"

  • "Very busy place at lunch, but the service is fast. The food is great, along with a great beer selection."

  • "I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. We chose it for its location but were very happy with the Menu and general ambiance. There seemed to be some confusion on the wait staff as to who our waiter was and service was overall a bit slow. if they worked on correcting those issues this would be a total Hit! I would definitely go again but the slow service and confused front of house could get old if not corrected..."

  • "I inadvertently made a reservation to have lunch the afternoon of the USA vs Canada men's Olympic Hockey match. The restaurant was totally full when we arrived with people waiting for tables with pagers in their hands; but our reserved table was ready for us. The noise level was beyond energetic when we arrived, owing to the game, but by the time we finished lunch (almost two hours later and we were never rushed) the noise level went way down. Our food was very good and even with the place slammed the service was friendly and the food came out promptly. Our lunches were both quite good and the portion sizes more than reasonable (and the sweet potato fries are quite good!). I plan to go back and would recommend the restaurant to others."

  • "I thought the food was pretty good for a hotel bar restaurant. The menu made sense and had a good variety. The portions, price point, and presentation were consistent with the environment. I went for lunch two days in a row and ordered the same meal and must admit they can repeat the product. Consistency is not common in bar restaurants in my humble opinion...except when it's bad. I have already recommended and will continue to do so."

  • "The only complaint I had was that there were too many menus(six menus for two people) and too many people serving us. Other than that, the food was excellent, and the alcohol selection was great!"

  • "This was a last minute Valentine's day dinner for 8pm. I was surprised they had availability for a group that large with only a few hours"

  • "The food at the tavern is great. Both times I've eaten there was at lunch. They have great sandwiches, flat bread pizzas and salads. Their appetizers are pretty good as well. The fig and prosciutto flat bread pizza provided the sweet and salty taste I was craving. I've also tried the Chicken Thai wrap that was made with lots of crunchy vegetables and grilled chicken. Very innovative and healthy options. The parking was great as well since they are located in a Best Western hotel."

  • "Real nice casual spot to enjoy lunch / dinner -- right off 95 in Waltham. Biggest issue is you will never find it unless you know exactly where you are going. Put address in your GPS and enjoy."

  • "We were there when it was quiet. I've heard it can get very "lively" in there, but it wasn't this night. The music was a little loud considering how few people were in there, but it was more classic rock and not clubby, so it wasn't that bad. The food was surprisingly quite good. This isn't bar food or chain restaurant stuff. There's some real care put into the prep, presentation and quality. The wait staff was clearly bored and spent too much time goofing around, but our server (an older gentleman) was very polite, personable and attentive, so it was a wash. Overall, it's a good place. It's not fine dining, but it's also not just another place to go. It's a perfect dinner and movie night place, not a dinner and theater place."

  • "Ever since I started working in this office park, I've been wondering why one of the nearby hotels didn't open a decent restaurant for lunch and atter-work drinks for the hordes of nearby cube dwellers. The Copper House Tavern has done just that. You can sun yourself on their patio, overlooking a discount chain hotel parking lot and Shell gas station, just blocks from your office. I've been getting the blackened shrimp tacos a lot lately, they're delicious. ANY new restaurant is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood, and I'm sure we will be back."

  • "This is a great little restaurant. Food is good, service fine for a hectic noon time crowd. Had our office Christmas luncheon and everyone was surprised to find this hidden restaurant. There are very few choices in this area of Waltham, and this will be considered again for business lunches-nice to have an alternative."

  • "Good location inside a hotel on Winter St for business lunch meetings. Server was excellent. Salads and sandwiches were very good. We were seated promptly at the reservation time. Very busy at lunchtime. Overall very positive experience."

  • "This was my second time there and was very satisfied. I would recommend it without question. The food choices are plenty as is the beer and wine. I was with 4 other people and each of us had something different and each couldn't say enough about how good it was. Leftovers were taken home."

  • "So the ambiance and menu were great. Loved that the place had a pretty good view and the mood inside the place was very nice without it being too loud. My issue with the restaurant was that when I ordered a bourbon, I somehow received one of their specialty drinks despite specifically pointing to my drink. I was also disappointed that when we were ready to pay, I flagged down a waitress to give her the credit card but her response was something to the effect of: you aren't my table but I'll go grab her for you. All in all, if I were in the area again, I would consider trying it again giving the waitresses the benefit of the doubt that they were just having a bad day, but not rushing by any means"

  • "Just average. Nothing spectacular. We work close by so it's nice to have a new option but keep you expectations in check. Service really struggles in the lunch hour."

  • "What a great concept! Fun place to meet up with "the gang". Turkey BLT on Texas toast with avacado, delicious. Real, sliced, roasted Turkey breast was perfect and moist! Multiple beer on tap. Enthusiastic staff. Flat screens in every direction."

  • "I don't typically eat at hotel restaurants, much less a Best Western (the Copperhouse sits inside it), but I wanted to give this new restaurant a fair shot. Newly furnished, it was poor on the parts that matter: Service and food quality. It took forever and and day to even order and get drinks, much less our meal. What should have been a 45 minute to 1 hour meal turned into a 2 hour disaster. Some of our meals were incomplete: Salads without dressing, etc. The sin isn't being understaffed: There are right ways and wrong ways to handle this. Clearly they knew we weren't happy, and the manager didn't even bother to come over and apologize. We just got handed our check with the automatic 18% gratuity and that was that."
