  • "We had a great brunch after visiting the International Spy Museum. If you love chocolate (and who doesn't) then this is the place to go."

  • "My favorite DC brunch place. Soup with fried brioche was perfect starter followed by lemon butter cottage cheese pancakes that I must have every time. Loved the martini with black pepper ginger syrup. "

  • "friendly patient waitress while we tried to decide what we wanted... so many amazing choices. food was larger than expected, don't over order, savory was as delicious as their more popular sweet brunch items... a lovely morning"

  • "My girlfriend and I went to Coco Sala for desert only and it was excellent. Coco Sala has a great atmosphere and the desert was modern and absolutely amazing."

  • "We went here as our "formal" dinner selection for our trip to dc. And was pleasantly suprised on everything..from the amazing drink selection and heavenly drink creations..tht will push ur tastebuds into over load. The desert combo I highly recommend as choice."

  • "We wound up getting there an hour after our reservation time because of a ridiculous amount of traffic and I was so upset that we weren't going to be able to eat at the restaurant I had been looking forward to for months. However, the staff was completely understanding and were able to sit us less than 5 minutes after we walked in. We had the 5-course chocolate meal, which was delectable and after seeing the savory food, I only wish I lived closer so I could go back again. The drinks were creative and delicious and the wine menu was entirely inclusive as well. Then, when the check came, I was surprised at how inexpensive the night turned out to be. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone planning on visiting the area."

  • "The food was adequate - overpriced for such small dishes. The seating was very uncomfortable - hard-backed benches or stools with no back at all. The service was incompetent. It took 20 minutes to get our food, and we were served the wrong dishes."

  • "I have been here numerous times for brunch.... Love it ! Happy Hour specials are also amazing."

  • "My friend and I had brunch at CoCo Sala and we truly enjoyed it! We each had the pre fixe brunch, and were able to choose various items that we then shared (of course). We opted for coffee and a white hot chocolate to drink (the homemade marshmallow was awesome!). We would definitely like return for dessert and some prosecco sometime. The only downside was that the tables were small and relatively close together, so intimate dining is shared with other guests (like most restaurants in the area). Overall, fabulous!"

  • "The food is terrific! But I was not prepared for the dark interiors. It was a bit too dark for my taste. But overall Thumbs-up!"

  • "We just came in for dessert with some friends to celebrate our anniversary. We just ordered dessert and some cocktails. Everything was pretty expensive for the portion, even the drinks were small. But everything was delicious, and the server took great care of us. I'd like to go back and check out what they have on the menu for dinner."

  • "My boyfriend and I had brunch at Co Co Sala on Sunday. The food was top notch. The staff (hostess and servers) were friendly and attentive to our needs. Our food came shortly after we ordered. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast flatbread (which came with an arugula salad) and chocolate covered bacon. He said they were both quite delicious. I ordered the artichoke tart (which came with gazpacho soup). The tart was warm, butter, and crispy goodness. The creamy artichoke filling was quite savory. Co Co Sala is a great place for foodies, a girls night out, a romantic date, a corporate happy hour, and other private event."

  • "Best about Co Co Sala was the service--our waitress was helpful, attentive, and friendly. Likewise, so were all the other restaurant staff. The food was good. And kitchen prepared attractive presentations but most servings were small given the prices. The Arugula salad was imaginative and delicious; but the beet salad was inadequate--ridiculously sparse--at least some greens could have been added. Worst about Co Co Sala--the unisex tiny bathroom. I found it confusing. A woman who visited the bathroom didn't seem to like the experience either. My advice: segregate the bathrooms."

  • "Wonderful flavors. Small plates are bigger than the usual so we didn't need to order as many. Pork belly on bun is a standout."

  • "Their food and desserts are amazing. But it's pretty noisy"

  • "We were there very early and the place was mostly empty but we were still seated close to very loud patrons at the bar. We just were not in the mood for that, and asked to be moved. Our new spot was much better and we were able to enjoy the wonderful food - recommend the strawberry flatbread, scallops, artichoke tart. Also, it's a treat to be able to watch the desserts being prepared."

  • "I was honestly surprised how good the food was here. I knew the desserts would be exceptional, but I didn't know the food would would be so delicious too. And it was. While the menu is small and as a vegetarian there wasn't a large plate option, the small bites and salad was perfect. The fries are delicious as was the mushroom risotto. Of course the chocolate based desserts were scrumptious. I have heard that it can get pretty loud on weekends, but we went during the week and it was nice."

  • "Definitely recommend getting there in time to grab a drink for happy hour then taking a seat in the dining area because the cocktails are really good. Food is like tapas and everything is amazing. Crab cakes are my favorite."

  • "Just get the multi-course dessert and you will be hooked! Great place/price. Our favorite place to go and it's only a 2 minute walk from the Metro!"

  • "Coco Sala is my "go to" spot in DC. Always great food, drinks, and ambience. Love this place. Always have to have the Cocojito. And I always bring my friends here. Love it."

  • "Went just for dessert around 7pm. The bar was packed and though on the other side of a wall it made it really noisy in the dining area. There was only one waiter and he was running around so it took awhile to order but the dessert came out quickly. We had the Chocolate Onyx and it was awesome. Very decadent and glad we split it between two because it was so rich I don't know if I could have eaten it all. Would go back again for dessert but need a reservation to be safe,"

  • "Coco Sala has a club-like feel with loud music. The desserts are amazing. The food is pretty good."

  • "Portions were not large, but filling. There specialty is dessert. Portions are more close to tapas and presentation is lovely."

  • "We went for brunch. The restaurant was close to empty, yet for some reason the service by our waitress was very slow. We had to ask the busser twice to find our waitress for us to order and/or get service. It seemed as if the minute she realized we were not ordering the prix fixe menu, we weren't worth her time. As usual, the food, however, was fantastic."
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "Although the desserts are really the star, the rest of the menu is also very much worth a visit."

  • "Great food; too many women for single ladies who want to meet eligible bachelors."

  • "Overall, this restaurant was very good - the buffalo sliders were scrumptious (although the crabcakes might have been even more delicious), great helpful service, and the ambiance is very chic. The deserts were out of this world and the Fetish cocktail was fabulous!!! The bacon mac-n-cheese was maybe overly bacon but the chococlate covered bacon piece on top was a nice touch. Will definitely return here!"

  • "We are typically very laid back and enjoy quiet meals where we can talk and be heard without having to raise voices above normal speaking level. That isn't possible at Co Co Sala! It is a fairly energetic place. The décor is very trendy, as are the restrooms. The food was tasty, but the portions were quite small. But, if you order dessert, you'll be full by the end of the meal. The desserts are pretty good, but not worth the price you're expected to pay. The service was excellent - our waitress kept our water glasses full and checked on us regularly, answering any questions we had with ease. Not somewhere that we will return, but it was a fun experience."

  • "We were running late to the restaurant. Called the restaurant to inform them we would need to modify the reservation to 2:00 pm. The hostess informed us they would be closing the kitchen about 2:15 pm. At 2:25 pm, the hostess called to inquire if we would still make it to the restaurant, we did. Our server was delightful and offered amazing service. She tended to us frequently. Overall, great brunch experience. Will definitely be going there again!!!!"

  • "The food was okay but nothing special. The various chocolate drinks were good. The desserts were REALLY good. It was VERY noisy."

  • "The food was great; the room was cold; the server didn't care; he brought the check without asking; we still wanted dessert; he brought all food out at once; we ordered an appetizer and three bites; he should have staged it"

  • "My boyfriend's sister introduced us to Coco Sala a few years back and we have not stopped coming back, the Cocojito is the best drink in Washington, DC hands down!! We've tried everything on the menu at this point, our faves are the bacon mac-n-chees, and the swordfish sliders (these are seasonal)... Coco is fun and lively the the prices are reasonable the service is always above and beyond and the food is undeniably great, the best part is that everything has a little bit of chocolate in it! Go to Coco Sala you will not be disappointed!"

  • "Visiting downtown DC on last day of trip, we went to Co Co. Sala for a late lunch. The food was very good. I had grown up grilled cheese and my wife the cheese souffle. My sandwich came with tomato soup that was good with a bit of a kick of heat to it. The sandwich good as it was could have used a little more cheese to match the very thick bread. My wife's souffle was outstanding. We of course had to have dessert. I had the Onyx. It was gorgeous, rich but amazingly light. Fantastic. My wife had Latin Love, which was also very good, but it was no Onyx. The only complaint was the terribly uncomfortable benches and tables that kept you in an bad seating position with no place to put your legs. Tries to look chic but very uncomfortable."

  • "Coco Sala is one of the best spots to go to before a performance. The food and drinks are great and the service is excellent! The only thing I would change is to have more space between each table."

  • "My wife and I were in DC for the Eagles concert at the Verizon Center which is just down the street from Co Co Sala so it was a great place to have dinner before the concert. The food was very good but first timers need to ask a lot of questions because the menu is made up, primarily, of small plates. The wait staff is very eager to help in every way. What ever you do make sure that you order dessert."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "The ambiance was good. food was good. But a 2 people table is so small. it killed the overall experience. It was my birthday, but I did not enjoy the experience. I couldn't lean over and hear my husband because I was short and it will look awkward. I think maybe better for large parties. The wait staff was awesome. She was kind, polish, and very professional."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "The regular menu wasn't anything special or exciting (with the exception of the sweet and sour cauliflower!!) but the deserts were dynamite! Definitely would drop back in for desert and coffee anytime."

  • "This is one of the best restaurants in the city. An amazing wait staff, amazing food, beautiful interior. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the perfect evening with friends or date. This has definitely become my new spot!"
