Classic coastal cooking from the Texas Gulf to the Northeastern Seaboard will influence Clark's menu. A large portion of the concept is devoted to the Oyster, Cold Bar, Seafood, & Caviar. We procure the freshest oysters from small harvesters around North America and serve cold seafood platters featuring super fresh daily specials.Continued

  • "I have been wanting an authentic crab Louie. Clark's was good, but I am going to have to go to San Francisco to get what I want. The ceviche was awesome. My husband had east coast oysters which he said were very good as well as the chowder. The stone fruit tart- do NOT pass up. My only complaint is that it is very intimate seating inside and Chatty Cathy and her 3 friends were at the next table. She had Brussels sprouts - which I hate- and the strong smell was almost more than I could stand. Next time, we will get a table outside. The wait staff was superb."

The inside of the restaurant is small but very bright and airy. They have a great outdoor dining area as well. This is one of those places that I will definitely recommend to friends who may be dining in Austin. An overall great experience."

  • "Still great! No one is knocking Gulf oysters; they have their application. But expect the very best of the NW and NE here, miyagis, kumamotos, shiny seas. The prices are about 25 cents higher per oyster here than in downtown Seattle, which, considering the additional distance traveled, doesn't seem bad. The various roasted fishes are outstanding. It's a very small restaurant and they pipe in loud music, both inside and outside. Great fish- and shellfish-appropriate wine list. Hit or miss service -- but that seems endemic to hip restaurants in Austin. Nice interior design!"

  • "Found this on yelp and took a shot. Everything was perfect. Until.. The table next to us started conversation about everything we ordered throughout our meal. We loved the food and service.. Hated not having some space. The people next to us were nice but we were on a romantic date and had to constantly conversate with them about our oysters, our appetizers, our meal, and.. Our desert as if they were part of our 2 person party. Next time I'd ask for a more private table. I'd reconnect this place to friends but only on a social basis. Don't get me wrong, everything was great, we just wished we had more privacy or space between tables. People next to us constantly asking how much we are spending on things was annoying.."

Servers know the menu and are experienced and attentive. Great atmosphere inside and out the outside deck (those mist coolers really work on a hot afternoon). Hard to go wrong with Clark's."

  • "We had a 9pm reservation on a Wed. with 2 other adults and a 2yr old. As soon as we walked in the staff was great and very accommodating. This was my 4th time at Clarks and if you haven't been here it is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. Atmosphere and ambience is great and changes well over lunch to dinner. It wasn't a busy night but far from empty. We ordered oysters, and shooters to start. Even though they were out of a few oysters they still had both East/West coast, which were great. For our main course we order the Lobster Roll, Crab Cake, Crispy Gulf Snapper, fries, and a grilled cheese. Everything was perfect and had no complaints. The people I was with were from out of town and they were already planning to come back."

The service was excellent and our courses arrived on time, so they didn't pile up on the table. And, all the food was excellent."

  • "If you love raw oysters, this is the best place in town where you're gonna find a wide variety of options. There are so many to choose from on the menu, and the staff is very helpful when making selections. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Austin, but you have to make reservations at least a week in advance, so planning is required. Parking can be tough, so be prepared to drive around the block a few times. "

  • "Love this restaurant. Waitress was friendly and well informed about the oysters and wine. They were out of the first two gins my companion ordered but the bartender came over to the table and found him one that they thought he would like and he did. Only reservation was that I had had one glass of wine and couldn't drive with two glasses. We asked the waitress to see if I could order a half glass. They refused. For me this is a safety concern. it felt inflexible when we had spent $125 without tip. Most restaurants would accommodate this request when I had already had wine. Other then that, the staff was responsive but not overbearing. I will be back again."

We shared a few dishes for dinner, including a dozen oysters on the half shell (we preferred the east coast varieties to the west coast ones), the Oven Roasted Gulf Oysters, Clark's Cioppino, and the fabulous Crab Cake. We weren't disappointed with any of it! We will definitely be back!"

  • "The food was outstanding. We were with some people who had recently been to Maryland and they said the Clark's crab cake was better, hands down. Also tried mussels and a red fish. All great. Will definitely be back. It is a little on the pricey side but we found it to be worth it. It is noisy but I don't think there is much that could be done about that. Our service was a little slow (especially given that it was nearly 10pm) and the management may want to do a little work in that area. Her attitude was great. Given how long it took for food, would have liked to have her check back and assure us she was on top of things though. Highly recommend sitting outside if a table is available and it isn't too hot."

  • "I'm now going to Clark's at least once a week for the crab cakes, and taking a different friend with me each time, so I've also sampled the Shrimp Toast and Shrimp salad, which were also delicious! The wait staff is courteous and efficient, especially Nathan. I LOVE that Clark's takes reservations. I won't go anywhere that doesn't anymore. The prices are a bit high for lunch, so maybe smaller portions could allow for more under-$20 entrees. "

Had the Classic Martini and the server, Shirin asked if I wanted it with the Vermouth (Dolin) I have never been asked in Austin if I want vermouth with my martini. Another reason why service is 5 star. "
