  • "I am from Canada, I was meeting colleagues from Columbia in Chicago. We had never been to Cite. I requested a table with a view, so we could take in the fireworks, when I booked. When I arrived they said no. We had a nice view if the Chicago skyline, but we requested a view of the lake to take in the fireworks."

  • "We were in town for the Rock and Roll Marathon and ran the morning of our visit. Of course, we had to walk some to get to the restaurant. I wore heels (even though they were hurting) and my fiancé wore nice walking shoes with our dress clothes. We rode the elevator with 3 ladies wearing flip flops and shorts. When we reached the restaurant, the hostess told the ladies that they could go on in and look around the restaurant (they did not have reservations). However, we were turned away because of his shoes. She refused our explanation. We went to III Forks and had a WONDERFUL meal. We have traveled the continent experiencing fine dining and paying for good food. This restaurant doesn't deserve to be patronized. Go to III Forks!"

  • "The view was fantastic. The rest was simply not good enough. It was so cold up there and when mentioned the waiter said we could walk around to get warm. The wine was warm and the steaks ware not as ordered. Only go there for the view. I hope someone would by the place and make it fantastic.. It have all the possibilities"

  • "The food and service was outstanding. We were seated immediately, and we were well taken care of."

  • "This restaurant got a very nice and unique location and view. The atmosphere is very good also. Quiet and almost each seat got a good view. However, the food and service are not as good as expected by the price they charge. I can get a much better steak in Ruth's Chris with same price and way better service."

  • "Expensive meal. Pairing of sauces with the food was not always optimal or even extraordinary. Food was often over salted. The view, kindness of waitstaff, and gentile treatment from chefs madeup for several mistakes. We had a great time and the food was ultimately delicious. But with the given price it's definitely the location and kind service that you're paying for."

  • "Gorgeous view of the city. Great food. Very friendly and kind service there. Great for very special occasions or to get a watch the Navy Pier fireworks at night. Loved it."

  • "Went here for our anniversary on a weeknight at 7:30PM. The view is amazing, so be sure to request a table by the window with a view of both the city and lake. Service was great and everything was prompt. I ordered the Salmon and my husband ordered the Wagyu Strip. The salmon was served with sautéed spinach and a potato mash, both good, should be served with more potato. My husband ordered the asparagus to accompany the steak, which was fantastic. The salmon was delicious, but the steak was very poor quality (I doubt it was Wagyu at all) and very undercooked for medium rare (it was purple). I would recommend Cite for the breathtaking views, just not for a decent steak."

  • "Enjoyed dinner at sunset with family and teens. Spectacular views of the city while enjoying variety of apps, dinner and desserts. Strong cocktails a plus. We had a variety of foods and all were enjoyed (steaks, seafood, soups, and desserts). Highly recommend for views, food, service."

  • "Went with a friend for the fireworks - this place has the greatest view of Lake Michigan. Definitely a romantic spot for couples! Ask for a seat by the windows!"

  • "The location was great and had a beautiful scene, staff was friendly and the food was great. I would recommend this place to friends and families and will definitely be back again"

  • "Really not much to say except the wait staff was friendly and attentive. The view was beautiful, but the food was bland and too expensive for the poor quality. Dinner was disappointing."

  • "My girlfriend and I have now been to cite twice and have loved the experience both times! It is definitely your top tier restaurant, with amazing food and one of the best views in the city, the wait staff and other patrons really make you feel at home, never a snobby or richy rich person in the bunch. Most portion sizes are also substantial compared to what is expected from this type of dining experience, we have left stuffed both times as we just couldn't let any of the delicious food go to waste."

  • "Simply said... Tasting menu is the place to start for first time visitors. Service timing of courses perfect. Each course was a delicious with anticipation of the next. Genial staff. To top it of great views of the city of Chicago. A great spot to celebrate. Oh yes, finally a restaurant where you can actually have a conversation without screaming across the table. Worth every penny."

  • "As many people would say the prices are high but the real estate is prime. We were greeted and wished a happy anniversary upon arrival (thanks open table). As we were seated I was a little disappointed in our table as we came for a late dinner to see the fireworks, but before we made a drink order they came back and asked us if we would like to move to a prime fireworks location table. The was food absolutely delicious and the portions were very large ( I hate elf food). The show, the food, the drinks, the ambiance all made our anniversary celebration magical. Thank you."

  • "I would have never found this restaurant had it not been for Groupon! So glad I did because it would have been a shame to miss. Everyone talks about the John Hancock Signature Room for views, but Cite is even better. It is more romantic as almost every table is by a window. The concept is exceptional, the food is delightful, and the service spot on. Go for the tasting menu. It's a good value, and you won't be disappointed."

  • "We visited Cite because we had a groupon but I promise you we will be back before they offer another discount. The atmosphere was fantastic, everyone was polite & friendly and the food was incredible! The only criticism I have is that it took them 35 min to get our check...thankfully we weren't in a rush! Other than that I will recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great first date location or an anniversary dinner!"

  • "I was so mad because on the day of our reservation it rained which made it foggy so we could not see the view. The food was great. Portion size says to share but was kind of small (we are very greedy). The steaks were good. Another guest tried the Halibut which he said was good. The waiters were very patient and helpful. All in all a great experience!!"

  • "Total tourist trap- not worth visiting. Cold oysters Rockefeller, rude servers, poor food quality."

  • "I was ready to spend for an amazing dinner when we planned Cite for our anniversary, however I absolutely don't think Cite is worth the money. The cost is CRAZY (after the cheapest bottle of wine and choosing all our courses our bill was $350). The food is definitely not good enough for that price tag. We were truly quite disappointed. In fact, the following night we went to Tango Sur to get some REAL steaks for a fraction of the cost. If you're looking for this view, I recommend a drink at the Signature room. Definitely will not visit again or recommend to others."

  • "Service tanked the night. Took my girl there for her birthday, the view was great, after that everything went south. Waiter had to be summonsed after we sat for 20 minutes, he got both orders wrong the gave us the wrong complementary drink. Finally, the waiter kept my credit card and had to run downstairs and meet me in the lobby, tragedy."

  • "Food was decent but decor outdated and service horribly slow. Way better places to go for special occasion dinner. They didn't even acknowledge our anniversary or sit us by window even though we had made note of both in reservation:( best just to get a drink to see view after sun goes down and eat somewhere else!"

  • "Special night with my daughter, Cite offered incredible service with outstanding food. The view of the Lake was breathtaking and served to be the perfect complement to our evening meal. The duck was moist and flavorful, the crab cakes the best we have ever had, and the peach sorbet left us wanting more! Having our flaming bananas foster made table side was quite a treat as well! Whether a dinner for two or a group gathering, Cite offers a wonderful meal experience from beginning to end! We will be back! Things to note: valet parking available makes it easy, window seats have air on the floor right next to windows (nice if sun is shining, a bit cool if not), location on Navy Pier is perfect for making a fun and memorable evening!!"

  • "Went her for our anniversary dinner. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The wine list was super expansive (a bit too many for me to have any idea what is going on, but great for people who know their wines). We enjoyed our time there. I recommend splitting a first course and/or second course rather having your own, or you will end up with too much food."

  • "My husband and I thought the food and the service was impeccable. Utsay and Amir along with numerous other staff made sure that we did not lack for anything. They could not have been nicer. We started out with the crab cake and lobster bisque with the pork chop and salmon entrees. Everything was superb and cooked exactly the way we asked for it. We have dined here on several occasions and ALWAYS had a combination of excellent food and service. Along with the ambiance, it cannot be beat. It is on the pricey side but we have never been rushed and always spent a good amount of time savoring the experience. We expect to continue going and are looking forward to the next time."

  • "Cité definitely has an amazing ambiance...the view was spectacular. Unfortunately the rest of the experience didn't HOLD UP TO THE VIEW! The start of our evening set the tone for the rest of the dining experience. Our reserved table wasn't ready, so we were shuttled to the bar area where WE WERE MADE TO FEEL AS IF IN THE WAY. The staff kept brushing into us and pushing past to get to other areas as they passed through the bar. Once seated, the SERVICE WAS SLOW. The server TOOK HIS TIME acknowledging our presence. Once we finally did get to order, the courses CAME AT A SNAILS PACE! When the food did arrive it was NOT HOT....lukewarm at best! The FOOD QUALITY WAS AVERAGE. Not what we expected from this level of dining. We would NOT RETURN!"

  • "First time here and it definitely won't be the last! We truly enjoyed the scenery, the ambiance, and the fresh friendly faces and ESPECIALLY the food! It was well worth the money spent and a little live piano playing would have been icing on the cake. Poetry night, maybe? Only those with exquisite taste may tread here and I was proud to be one of the few."

  • "The ambience was very nice but the food was ok. For this dining experience I ordered the chef tasting menu and while the veal cheek and scallop were splendid the other selections were ok. Maybe it was my high hopes but I expected more from the risotto and the soft shelled crab (which is very interesting to eat). If I decide to return to Cite I probably will not get the chef tasting menu. Also while dining there were many people that strated to huddle by our table to take pictures of the city view which at a point in time got a tad bit annoying. Overall my experience at Cite was ok but I expected so much more."

  • "I chose to go to Cite' because I searched for butter poached lobster in the Chicago area and they popped up. I was apparently close to the kitchen and the staff was loud! I guess some other guest complained because someone when in the kitchen and yelled at the top of their lungs "Shut the f&*k up!" (insert blank stare here).......I think the rest is self-explanatory. On to the food..... I ordered Lobster Bisque $12 which was rather watery with a teaspoon of lobster, extremely runny lobster mac and cheese $18 and of course butter poached lobster that consisted of a small tail and "1" claw......for a whopping $64. Long story short - Not returning again!"

  • "I had heard of this restaurant and wanted to try it. It's in a residential building and we found it to be not clearly labeled. once vallet takes your car you must enter thru the main entrance not thru the side door. I guess that makes sense but for a 1st timer (as I'm sure many others are) we had no clue and wandered around like idiots. This already annoyed us before we even got to the restaurant. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and there was plenty availability, so of course we get a table directly next to the bar where there is traffic. The food was very tasteful and it had great presentation. I'm glad we tried it but I was not overly impressed. "

  • "The ambiance of Cite was top noch! It was very intimate, quiet, candle lit, and romantic... and the views! The views were to die for! I thought the food was incredibly over priced, however I imagine the rent that this restaurant pays to be here is equally outrageous. $16 dollar cocktails, and the least expensive dish is $29 and doesn't include sides. We ordered crab cake for dessert, a bottle of ruffino prosecco (retails in liquor stores for $16, but they were selling it for $49... I know there is a cutomary markup and corking fee, but COME ON!), two meals, two sides and the bill was $191. The sides we ordered were so so... the potatoes augratin (which the waiter said was his fav) were chewy and undercooked. "
