We had a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. Atmosphere was charming, and not too noisy for conversation. The meals (daily fish in parchment, and a grouper special) were competently prepared, but did not blow us away. The Vichyssoise soup and bread was the most enjoyable part of the meal. Service was generally fine, with a little bit of wait between ordering drinks and receiving them, and settling the check. The dessert menu was predictable and underwhelming, so we passed even though it was my birthday. We can only give 3 stars for service, as it seemed like our server was working a little too hard to be pleasant and it left an uncomfortable tone on the whole experience.

When you go inside everything looks really nice but the food is horrible. I honestly got the impression that the only people that were coming in were the ones who were tired of waiting in line at Paula Dean's place a half block away. I got the prime rib sandwich and my wife got scallops. My sandwich tasted like it came out of a microwave package and was served with au jus from a packet. The scallops were actually decent. Our server spent most of her time leaning against the wall until a larger party (who seemed to be tired of waiting in line for Dean's place)came in and she dedicated all her time with them. Most of my bad meal was spent with no drink refilled.
If you'r in this area, save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else!

This was a special occasion - our last evening in Savannah. We love the City, hated to leave, and this was the perfect spot for a romantic, last night. Excellent food, and tasty wine, expert waiter. We didn't need the desserts, but they were delicious! Even the decaf coffee was good. Well worth a visit but do make a reservation - easy with Open Table! This is a small restaurant, elegant, attractive and very accessible in the Historic District.

The minute we walked in the door we felt more like we are in Paris than Savannah, Georgia. Circa 1875 is a true French brasserie in every way, from the menu to the interior decoration to the lively conversations of the diners. It was my first visit and I can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu. Several serious foodie friends, including one whose sister has lived in France for 30 years, had recommended Circa 1875 and it did not disappoint!

Very nice restaurant, with interesting dishes. Food in general is good, but some dishes are not executed properly, e.g., the "sandwich", the bread is too soggy. Wating staf is sometimes a bit "disconnected".

Service was spectacular and the experience overall was excellent. Having said that I ordered what they identified as one of their signature dishes fish cooked in parchment paper with vegetables. The fish was good and cooked well but the vegetable were burned to the bottom of the paper. I should have sent it back but I neither sent it back nor mentioned it to the wait staff. My mistake by not giving them a chance to make it right. Given the quality of the restaurant I have no doubt they would have taken care of the dish.

Circa 1875 had a very intimate atmosphere. Our food was good, and well presented. Our waiter was the highlight, friendly and knowledgeable. He did not hover but wasn't absent. I would recommend this restaurant to others.

What a great find! We enjoyed dining at Circa from the moment we sat down in their cozy dining room with it's Parisienne posters. The service was outstanding - the wait staff and managers clearly enjoyed working at Circa. They were warm and added to the fun of dining there. We enjoyed our meals - the cassoulet was as good as described (on their YouTube video) as was the game hen. A wonderful dining experience!
