Diner Reviews
  • "The venue itself is inviting and intimate. We were ready for a great experience after reading the description of the chef's and staff's credits. We have dined at many of the highest rated restaurants in the US and Europe so have much a discerning opinion. Pretty disappointing. The food was not very creative in our view and the preparation was off. My boar chop was over cooked and somewhat tasteless and the Italian duck sausage was bland. The presentation was good but food quality was very average to below average. My wife had fish which was clearly not fresh and overcooked. My son's and his girlfriend's meals were good. It seemed very hit or miss and very expensive. Can't see coming back."

  • "Food was great and service was excellent. Favorite local dining for special occasions."

  • "We all agreed the food was spectacular. In addition, our wait person (Jess) was a super nice kid. We all remarked what a nice guy he was and that he added to our experience."

  • "We went to celebrate our Anniversary. The food was great and the dessert came with a little congratulations note that I did not expect but it was a welcomed surprise."

  • "We dine at Christopher's on the average of once a month, and we have never been disappointed. On this most recent visit we celebrated my wife's birthday. The service by Lindsey was superb, as was the the food. It was a perfect evening."

  • "The food was very good and the place is very romantic and cozi. We had a good time!"

  • "My wife and I made reservations for our 24th anniversary. The restaurant was busy, but not crowded. New Orleans Jazz, including Louis Armstrong, was playing, although with the quiet atmosphere, some of the songs were jarringly loud. Service was attentive and prompt. My entrée was Huevos Enchiladas. Each bite of the stacked enchiladas and fried eggs was subtly different and unique as the individual ingredients had kept their own flavors instead of being a bland uniform mix. My wife got the Mazatlan Chicken with avocado salsa, the salsa was sweet and tangy. For dessert we had the Berries Napoleon, which was brought out on a plate that had Happy Anniversary written in chocolate. This was a special touch to end a very special brunch."

  • "The food was very good and the service excellent. We were treated to an excellent flatbread appetizer. I followed that with bacon-wrapped salmon on a veggie succotash. Ending with a Russian chocolate-voda cake with vodka-citrus ice cream. Wow!"

  • "The menu selections and the service are impressive. The portions are generous and presentation wonderful. This restaurant is the go to location for just dinner or lunch, but especially for that memorable occasion. It is a pleasure that is anticipated when making the reservation. We have dined throughout the world and this is as good as you will find. Go and enjoy."

  • "Our steaks were dry and not seasoned. My daughter found what looked like a hair in her food. When we gave it to the waiter he took it, did not say a word to us about it for the rest of our evening. We were very disappointed in our experience at Christopher's."

  • "We are lucky to have a local place this fantastic. Well worth every penny!"

  • "We enjoyed the food and drinks a great deal. Menu was pricey but very good."

  • "We enjoyed brunch at Christopher's. As always, it was very noisy and other guests dressed as if they were dining at a fast food restaurant. I understand the need to be flexible about a dress code because we don't want to be insulting however those who do actually dress the part are also at risk of being offended."

  • "I was hit in the back by a door while seated. It took the staff too long to figure this out. Food and wine were excellent. The waiter was over-attentive to the point of being rehearsed. Letting people enjoy their evening with their companions without having to validate how well everything is going every 4 minutes. This will not stop me from coming back."

  • "The best waiter we've had anywhere including San Luis Resort. The bone-in rib-eye was better than the the award winning bone-in rib-eye at The Steakhouse. The crab cake appetizer....excellent! Makers 46 whiskey sour....perfect as was the Tom Collins!"

  • "We had another marvelous dining experience at Christopher's. Rick, our waiter, was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list....and had a calm demeanor that made our dinner exquisite. We dined at our pace. We also appreciated getting our favorite table. Thanks!"

  • "First of all the service was excellent! However, it appeared that the executive chef was out. The meal took us up and down like a roller coaster ride. Somethings were outstanding and some were very poorly done. Up- the amuse bouche, crab cake (truly excellent), clams, the steak (done perfectly). Down- the breads (no artisan baker on the premise), vegetable medley which consisted of spinach floating in oil, a pile of over-sweetened squash, a baked tomato half, an unpeeled, overcooked (yet fibrous tough) asparagus spear, and a pile of mashed season potatoes. Also down was the single head-on-prawn that was over cooked and half of it was old and pulpy. The wine list was good. Intended to have dessert, but did not want to take the chance."

  • "We had a delightful dinner on Friday evening with wonderful food and a very special waiter, Freddie! Freddie was on top of the service and had such a fun and pleasant demeanor in addition to knowing the menu very well. The food was wonderful as well. Just wish we had saved room for dessert! Will definitely be back before too long."

  • "I have been to Christopher's many times for dinner, but never lunch. My girlfriend and I finally had the opportunity to try their lunch menu. I ordered the shrimp BLT, which is served with their french fry salad. I was not sure what to think of the french fry salad when the food was delivered, but I was pleasantly surprised. The french fry salad was almost as good as the shrimp BLT, which was fantastic. My girlfriend had the Hyde Park chicken salad, which was also great. I wish I had tried their lunch sooner, but at least I now know what I have been missing. If you want to have a great lunch, or dinner, this is the place to go."

  • "I typically dine at Christopher's about once a month, and on each occasion I am pleased with the experience. This most recent lunch outing was no exception. The food, service, and ambiance were exceptional. My two guests, who traveled from out of town for this luncheon, thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant."

  • "One does not usually leave Houston to dine in Bryan-College Station, but we did for a family event last week. We thoroughly enjoyed Christoper's. The menu is eclectic and interesting and the food was delicious. The snapper was some of the best we have ever eaten. Great sauces on dishes. We enjoyed every bite. The young A&M college student who served us was friendly and very efficient. A great experience."

  • "This was our first visit to Christopher's. In short, it was incredible. The crawfish fondue was the perfect start to the meal. My filet was done perfectly, and my girlfriend thought the smoked pork chop was excellent. The service was impeccable, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. We'll be coming back again."

  • "I'm new to cs/Bryan. Just moved from a "big city" and so was a little concerned about finding nicer places to eat. This was definitely good enough to fit that. Food was very good; service was attentive (perhaps a bit too much) and ambience just fine. "

  • "I was in town just for the weekend and this place came highly recommended. I'm so glad we went! I had the egges benedict and my boyfriend had the chicken waffles. We also split the shrimp and crawfish fondue dip which was AMAZING. I can't wait to go back to this place. Their only flaw? They didn't have real sweet tea but I won't hold that against them! :)"

  • "Came for brunch & hadn't been there in a while. Several years ago my experiences were uniformly good, but over the past couple of years the food is less consistent. Our waiter was attentive & quick to respond to requests. Coffee was just ok. Obviously not a lot of attention was given to it and it seemed to have come from a large institutional type of coffee maker. I had a salmon dish that was just ok & didn't seem to reflect much creativity. While it was cooked well, there was little seasoning and the sauce didn't pair that well. For what I paid ($120 for 4 people), I expect better than average. "

  • "We celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary at Christopher's on May 16th. We've blended and raised 4 children, lived apart for nearly 7 years because of employment and economic obstacles and now celebrating being together once again. The atmosphere was quiet, intimate and relaxing only to be topped by the fabulous food. The personal touch included a warm greeting, asking if this was our first visit and if this was a special occasion. It was a special night for us and you help create a great memory! Fantastic!!"

  • "We dined at Christopher's during our recent visit to the area. We found Christopher's to equal many of our home Chicago's finest restaurants in quality and service we experienced. Excellent and wonderful."

  • "In our area, or I would dare say in our state, there are very few restaurants that meet the expectations of fine dining. We are never disappointed with the entire experience, and you cannot do much better within 250 miles of BCS."

  • "I always enjoy taking family for a special occasion to Christopher's. It makes the celebration even more special and the person is always surprised and delighted to have had their event held at such an amazing place! This specific time was for an early Mother's Day and my mom and the others that we cherished on that day felt very loved!! :)"

  • "We went for brunch. The food was very good, but it took 3 tries for us to get the brunch menu. We asked for salt and pepper and had to ask a second time after waiting half way through the meal for it. The Mimosa was terrible. Served in a wine glass with very little champagne. It looked like straight OJ in the bottom 1/4 of a wine glass, tasted like it had a teaspoon of champagne, and was a la carte. "

  • "Christopher's delivers! My four sisters and I always look so forward to our reservation and long lunches at Christopher's. After decades of cooking and serving our families from our own kitchens, it is a treat worth waiting for. Christopher's attention to detail in the quality and presentation of food, their efficient and friendly (but discreet) service all contribute to a well-deserved break from our busy lives. It all made for a wonderfully memorable time of food and family--a treat worth waiting for.! We must book our next reservation a bit sooner. Seriously."

  • "we were up at A&M and took or son out for dinner before finals. Food was great, had a trainee server who will be a star, atmosphere was conducive to good conversation. After dinner our son looked at his watch and was amazed we had enjoyed our meal for two and a half hours. "
