Then 10 minutes later a very loud 4 top was sat right next to us in the same corner & in 5 minutes after that another 2 top was sat in the same corner. The whole restaurant had ample seating so I don't understand what they were doing. The food was great but very expensive! 2 drinks and 4 small tapas plates = $140"

  • "The service and ambiance is great but the entire experience was ruined by poor seasoning of the food. We ordered approximately 7 dishes. We started off with lotus chips, sui mai and carnitas taco which were good but it went down hill from there. All the proceeding dishes became progressively saltier starting with viva china taco (had crunch but lacked flavor except the saltiness), 18 monk noodle (a shame since the texture of the noodles were excellent), mongolian beef lettuce (beef was tender but ruined by the salty brown sauce which covered everything, the lettuce did not help neutralize the saltiness) and Rou ja street sandwich was by far the saltiest (even with the bread the tasted equated to putting a spoonful of salt in my mouth)."

  • "Small plate dining! Great for groups that like to share and sample different items! Tuna tartar was yummy. Fried rice was awesome! We were greeting in this waiting area by a nice lady who asked us if we wanted drinks. She totally set the tone for a perfect dining experience! Drinks were tasty. Even stayed for dessert because we loved just being there. Great lighting (you could see your friends at the table and music was not loud so you could take without having to yell. A true must have 'eat-spot' in Vegas! China Poblano! We will be back!"

  • "We have been to this restaurant several times before. The food was typically good and the service decent. This time service was terrible. We barely saw our waitress other than to take the order and return with the bill. The entire meal was very rushed and they forgot one meal item. I had the poblano soup. For $11 it was the size of a small bowl, mostly liquid with only 1 piece of meat. The food does taste good but for the price it is simply not worth it. I would say all of the food tastes very good servings are quite small and t the service and value is just not there. I would be remiss to not mention their famous whipped salt margaritas. They are $14 and are quite good."

  • "Was so excited to try China Poblano. After living in DC for many years and a frequent diner at Jose Andres' restaurants, couldn't wait to check out China Poblano. While nothing was bad, the flavors were all just..okay. We had a selection of tacos (the duck tongue was the most flavorful), the tuna ceviche (which was actually a tartar), the six treasures dumplings and the dan dan mian. Again, everything tasted fine, just nothing outstanding. Very pricy for just an ok meal. Would not return or recommend."

  • "After enjoying Las Vegas it was too late for something too heavy, therefore Dim Sum was the answer. Throw in some buckwheat noodles and we were ready to enjoy Vegas for a few more hours. Great spot!"

  • "Service: A+ of the best I have had here in Las Vegas. I loved the fact that while we had one exceptionally excellent waiter, there were several asst. waiters and bus boys clearing dishes and bringing dishes making a very smooth transition between dishes. Everyone smiled and greeted us on the way in and out of the restaurant. Ambience: A+ Vibrant, but not too loud. Lit just right. Cool wall art. Food: Ecclectic mix of Chinese pseudo Dim Sum and Mexican. Both were tremendous, quality of ingredients excellent and fresh. Love the tapas idea of both and not a bad dish at all. Overall: Fun, delicious, different and as a local of Las Vegas will definitely return!"

The restaurant, like many, is built to "feel" busy by having hard surfaces for sound to reverberate off of. It is LOUD. If you can handle that, it is a very worthwile dining experience."

  • "I'll get my one complaint out if the way - we got seated right next yo the kitchen door when there were plenty of options available ... Great service from the wait staff and a sometimes over zealous bussing staff. There were four of us so we just ordered a bunch of things for the table since most everything is in a small plate form. Food was outstanding - pork buns were a standout as was the shredded chicken soup (I cannot recall the cute menu names). Molé shrimp were surprisingly tasty as was the multi-vegetable fried rice. We soldo had the lamb potstickers which were good, but in a sea of incredible plates, it did not match up. We have eaten here before and I have never gad a bad experience. This place is a must when in Vegas."

  • "We had Friday reservations at 930pm, were told they were running about 10-15 minutes late. After a 1/2 hour, we were told 5 more minutes. After another 15 minutes, still no table......the 5-10 more minute story. Had they not lied and been honest about the exceptionally long wait we would have opted to either stay or go somewhere else. Nothing makes me more irritated with a restuarant then to not have reservations honored. Have eaten here before on a week night and it wasn;t as much of a problem, usually a 20-30 minute wait. ( with reservations) Food was good at that time."

  • "Authentic Mexican flavors -- the carnitas tacos were pure Oaxacan and the cochinita tacos took us back to Merida in the Yucatan. Ahi tuna ceviche was exceptional -- I believe there were pecans in it! And, of course, tried a few of the dim sum: the traditional sui mai with shrimp/beef/water chestnuts was 'melt in your mouth' delicious. A spicy noodle dish called Dan Dan Mian with ground pork was unusual and very tasty -- beware, it was hot! Aqua frescas, Jarritos sodas, and really really great coffee. We live in New Mexico where there is not very good dim sum, so we were very happy. But, being from a state where there is lots of 'New' and 'Old' Mexican food, China Poblano really rocked our south of the border taste buds!"

  • "Inventive, delicious mix of Chinese and Mexican flavors. Each dish was subtle and balanced itself, but the mix of the two cuisines was (very) surprising. It truly works in a way I didnt expect. Prices were reasonable. The only downside was the over the top noise level which made conversation challenging. Overall, a very memorable meal."

  • "If you love Chinese and Mexican cuisines,why not trying fusing the two together? The results are unique and delicious. You'll find great street style tacos with stuffings you may not have imagined. Some great Chinese dishes with a Mexican twist. You can order individual items, or go family style for everyone to share. My wife is gluten and dairy intolerant, and they have separate menus for each. If you're thirsty, they also feature some delicious and unique margaritas.. The decor is even a wonderful combination of Mexican alibrijes(hand carved and painted animals from Mexico)and bright Chinese masks. The service was quick and polite, and the wait staff was never far away if you needed anything. For a very unique dining experience, try it."

  • "Our group had a very enjoyable experience. The mixture (although separate offerings) of Latino and Asian dishes (think tapas meets dim sum) was both unusual and satisfying. We turned our food-ordering duties over to our server and his performance came through with high marks. A few dishes missed the mark slightly but on balance our palates were very pleased. The wine list was well-represented but several selections were out of stock, which seemed odd. This dining experience is not cheap but we would defintely return!"

  • "I was attending a seminar at The Cosmopolitan and organized a group lunch at China Poblano. The staff was very accommodating and tried to get us seated and served within an hour. The only minor complaints from the group were the noise level (difficult to hear one another) and it took a while for all of our tables to cash out. Otherwise, the food was excellent - very creative and traditional dishes in the menu, all very tasty. I will definitely dine here again!"

  • "We've eaten here about 4 times and have never had a single dish which we've not enjoyed. The dishes blend ingredients we'd never imagine mixing, but somehow they really synergistically work. Do not be fooled by it's location in a hotel mall. This is a great restaurant. The Jose Andres restaurant near us in S. Florida is often booked up on weekends for weeks in advance."

  • "We needed a place for 10 and this worked out really well. Even though our spot was a little tight, after a few good margaritas it mattered very little. The staff offered to select our food an gave us some great choices. For a place with such a selection this was very helpful when trying to entertain. The ceviche was simply incredible. If you don't order the dan dan noodles you are a little broken. Everything else was way better than expected as well. The mix of food choices was interesting and well matched. A really fun palce to take a group. Thank you!"

  • "We eat at top rated restraunts in Vegas and most are very pricey but this one was very plain in decor, tables reminded me of a local chinese place and the prices were bery high for the portion you get. There was only 2 of us eating here and with one drink each $16 per drink no less, our total bill before tip was $90! We ordered 4 items and went with the recommendations from waiter which were actually pretty good. But would not go back again."

  • "Jose Andres' Chinese - Mexican fusion works very well, albeit a bit loudly. Offering a couple dozen dishes from simple Mexican street fair to elaborate Chinese dim sum, there's something for everyone to enjoy at this "combo" restaurant and bar. I spent 4 hours sipping and nibbling my way through both sides of the menu, one beer and one small plate at a time. The service was excellent -- we did not feel rushed, nor did we ever have to wait long to have our drinks or plates replentished. Stick to pork -- however it's cooked -- on either side of the menu. We only strayed off the pork theme for the Chinese eggplant and it wasn't of the same caliber as everything else. I'd go back in minute, except I live in Sacramento, not Las Vegas."

  • "Knowing that this was a mix of Chinese and Mexican cuisines ahead of time helps. Reservations hardly seemed necessary since we seated along the back wall, next to the bathrooms, at a table too small for the glasses of water and cocktails let alone the number of small plates that we were encouraged to order multiples to try and share. Fortunately, food did not disappoint despite a very casual venue with long banquet style tables for picnic style dining."

  • "From the projection on the wall to the seating, the ambiance was fun. The food, however, lacked the same pop. We had the guacamole as a starter, noodles, shu Mai, a taco and a shrimp dish. The food was good but presentation did not match the hype. For example, the noodles came on a big owl that the noodles barely filled and looked like a packaged ramen. The shu Mai had bits of foil on it. A taco I ordered looked less appetizing than one I'd get from a taco truck. My gin and tonic was good but also could have had more zing...there was one small cilantro leaf...looked like it had accidentally fallen in vice being a component in the drink. It may be garnish that's lacking or the dishes are prepared in a rush and presentation is second."

  • "My husband and I both loved the food and the service at China Poblano. It's like a great Dim Sum restaurant with the addition of Mexican food. The food is amazing! And they have really fun cocktails (with their own spin)! We loved it so much, we dined there two nights in a row! I would definitely recommend it. The prices are good in a city where much of the food seems to be over-priced."

  • "I chose this restaurant randomly from those at the Cosmopolitan and didn't realize until after I made the reservation it was a Jose Andres place. I've had good and just ok experiences at his restaurants, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I'd say the only downside is the VERY casual atmosphere and the uncomfortable bench and stool seating. The food was very flavorful, the menu was huge, the choices were interesting, great drink menu (try the margarita flight!) and our server was very helpful and nice. Had shrimp, 20 veg fried rice, best guacamole I've ever had, and an eggplant dish. All were delicious and different from the norm. Would definitely go back for a casual meal."

  • "My husband is a self proclaimed mexican food lover, while I myself could eat chinese food every day! When we found China Poblano, we thought we had found our match made in heaven. WE WERE SO WRONG. The establishment itself was great, but the food was absolutely horrid. We shared an appetizer and ordered separately from the menu and everything was nearly inedible. Our sever was amazingly friendly and we felt alerting the staff of our hatred for the food would negatively impact our server. We will NOT be returning."

  • "I have to go to Vegas twice a year for work and I make a point of dining at China Poblano at least once every trip. We always sit at the bar, love the energy there. Our favorite cocktail is the Mexican gin& tonic, be warned, once you have it, you'll be hooked for life. For food, I love it all, can't just choose one item, we usually have 5 or 6 different items and share. Thank you Jose Andres for proving such an amazing dining experience."
