Situated in the heart of beautiful downtown Saratoga Springs, Chianti Il Ristorante serves sophisticated, authentic Northern Italian fare in an elegant setting. Combining seasonal food, an award-winning wine selection, a welcoming and knowledgeable staff and a detailed, inviting ambiance Chianti provides every guest with a superb and unforgettable dining experience. Aesthetically inspiring, its rustic walls, hard wood floors and green onyx bar invoke the authenticity of conventional Italian architecture while remaining slightly modern. The culinary philosophy at Chianti is based on a respect for tradition. With artisan breads and pastas, housemade sausage and braised meats it is culinary craftsmanship at its best. Our guests have the chance to savor fresh food, from a selection of expertly-sliced carpaccio, to a variety of wild fish, to risotto that is made only with Vialone Nano rice grown exclusively in Italy's Venetto region. • "I have eaten at Chianti several times and each time has been a foodie's delight. The entrees are original and expertly prepared. The wait staff is extremely well-informed and personable and the atmosphere is lively. If you want traditional Italian fare, you should dine at Chianti."

  • "Went to this place for the first time on Friday, July 4th. Had an amazing experience and I'm pretty critical being that I've worked in the fine dining industry for years. Was most impressed with the friendly service and general atmosphere of the dining room. Will definitely be returning!"

  • "Have eaten here for Jazz Fest for the last few years - food is excellent, but the service gets slower and slower - water & bread come quick and it drags on from there. This year was especially slow to the point where we had to ask (and should just have been offered without having to ask) for 3 additional bread baskets just to tide us over. We won't be back next year."

  • "Having dined at sister restaurant Fornos which we love-tried Chianti for the first time.Great friendly bartender!! Food and service was excellent. Best risotto I have ever eaten which was recommended by the bartender at both Fornos and Chianti. Husband had a special of squid ink pasta and cuttlefish which was delicious. Delicious carpaccio and burrata appetizers. Try the tirimisu martini.Goes great with coffee. We loved it and will definitely be back!!"

  • "This was my third time at Chianti and I'll definitely be coming back again. The food and service is first rate and the ambiance is very nice. We sat on the outdoor covered patio because the inside of the restaurant was very busy and a bit too noisy for our taste. My only complaint is that the patio chairs are metal with no cushions...I ended up folding up my scarf and sitting on it so that I could have a bit more cushioning."

  • "My husband and I and another couple chose Chianti's to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived right at the same time as Dog the Bounty Hunter and his entourage. For a few minutes, until they were seated, we were stuffed in the front waiting area like sardines. Once Dog's party was brought to their private room, it was much more comfortable. We had to wait a few minutes for our table to be ready, but that was fine. They definitely pack you in and the tables are right on top of one another. In order to sit down, you have to contort your body so that you don't knock the food and dinnerware off the table next to you. However, our service was excellent and the food was delicious."

  • "I usually dine at the bar with my husband- understanding the closeness of other guests, but recently went with a friend before the ballet and was seated at a table for two which was very close to another table for two. We wanted to talk but ... Table was very small and I could hear everything our neighbors said. . It was distracting . I will return because I am a fan but will be sure to consider seating."

  • "This was my first time in Saratoga. I must say prior to my trip, i did go online to find the top ten restaurants in Saratoga. after having dinner in the top four which is Mio Posto, The Crown hill, Mrs London and Sperry's. I decided to go to number twelve according to Tripadvisor which is Chianti...I must say... Who dared to put Chianti in number 12. This was the best restaurant out of the five that I dinned because of the quality of the food, value, exceptional service and great atmosphere and their wines selection were first class. In my book, Chianti is the number one restaurant in Saratoga, NY, that list need to be updated. I am French, I kwow a good cuisine when I see it. They were great."

  • "Service was fabulous. The table was not a choice one and there were better table still open after we left. Food was average. Have had better meals there in the past and was disappointed. Dessert was an expensve couple of small bites. The potatoes with the filet were soggy and undercooked, and my friend's "special" pork chop was dry. The waiter was attentive and friendly but, unfortunately, the kitchen was not as I've typically experienced."

  • "Pretty restaurant with great service & an interesting menu. Perfect for a special night out. Loved the salad with crispy pancetta - I don't even like salad & I devoured it! "

  • "We had a waitress there who was def high as a kite. Food was not the best. The place was loud as hell as the waitress was telling us the specials, I had her repeat herself 3 to 4 times. Will not go back!!"

  • "Happy hour at this restaurant definitely a draw, meal was satisfying, large portions. We took advantage of the $19.00 fixed price menu and felt the offer was a good bargain....you must be seated in dining room by 5:30 pm to take advantage of the deal, an appetizer, entree and dessert. As we were able to dine mid-week, a bonus was having the area almost totally to ourselves!"

  • "The chef's specials were outstanding. White asparagus highlighted the Spring menu, something I had not seen in the US, since my travels to Switzerland, where white asparagus is a special Spring treat !"

  • "Last year my husband and I went to Boca for his birthday, this year was Chianti's for our 2nd anniversary. Exceptional dining experience. Both of us are food lovers and one of our favorite things is trying new food and picking out flavors and seasoning. Both offered a culinary palate that was both creative and original. "

  • "Outstanding carpaccio- the assorted platter was delicious. Service was very good, the only drawback is simply the small tables placed close to one another, but the food is the main draw."

  • "We visited during restaurant week and I had been there before, but it was a first visit for my mate. The meal was delicious; howeve,r since it was restaurant week, our first choice of entree had already run out (we had an 8:30pm reservation) so had to choose our 2nd option. The service was a bit delayed - we waited for our salads longer than the norm. My mate was pleased with his steak and salad. Next time we visit the restaurant we will avoid the busiest time of restaurant week."

  • "We have been to this restaurant many times but never before seated in the party room. This is a small enclosed room with a low ceiling. We were a party of 2, seated beside a party of 12 women. The noise level was horrible. We may not return to this restaurant."

  • "Food was top notch, noise level not conducive to conversation. Pork osso bucco was tender and sumptuous. Pasta dishes authentic and not over-sauced or too busy. Just high quality rustic Italian. Fair priced wine list with extensive Italian choices. Try the burrata! "

  • "Upon arriving early and went the to the bar after checking in. We were greeted with energetic and friendly staff. Once seated for dinner "right on time" beverages were offered and dinner specials were well described. The mussel appetizer was delicious-excellent saffron broth. Main entrees were served with a nice amount of time between courses. The pasta with crumbled sausage and tomatoes was very good. I had the special with shrimp and scallops. The seafood was perfectly cooked. The saffron cream sauce was good but became soaked up in the pasta. There was either too much pasta or not enough sauce. The pasta became a bit dry. A little less pasta might be a remedy. The coffee was great. A bit strong but we like it that way. "

  • "We typically dine here for special occasions and this time was no different. We started at the bar for happy hour, and although we didn't have appetizers many people did and they looked great. I think the price for the antipasto is a little high, but the food really is terrific. We will be back again and again."

  • "First time we were here we sat at the Chef's Table and had a wonderful meal. Second time we asked for a particular server but was put in a room where there was a large group. Was much too noisy for pleasant dining experience. My food was fine; my husband's salad was delicious but he didn't like the skin cooked on the chicken...too much fat into the meat and plate was floating in oil. His experience was not as good. We will order something different next time and ask how it is prepared before we order it. Nice restaurant; good wait staff generally and nice ambiance. We like this restaurant so I'm sure we will return."

  • "First surprise--the accessible parking. This is unusual for downtown Saratoga. Second, the warm and friendly greeting immediately upon entering. Wait staff, bus boy and waiter were efficient, knowledgeable and very pleasant. The best surprise of all was the food. The salads were ample and quite delicious. My mozzarella, arugula and prosciutto salad was fantastic! The lamb special was a treat, cooked to perfection with delicious veggies. Dining at Chianti's is highly recommend by me and my fellow diners. Caio."

  • "The vin santo and the valpolicella were very good, and the food was great. The busboy was overly aggressive and removed one plate when the patron had not finished the dessert, and another glass when the wine was not completed. The back of the restaurant was very dark, and several patrons had to use their cell phones as flashlights to read the menus. That being said, I would return-and plan to return-frequently "

  • "Great service, pro server, food was solid but not great, noise level was extreme, could not hear each other speak nor could we hear the server who basically had to shout in our faces to speak...take some tables out, that may help."

  • "The food was very good - each pasta dish selected by the table was delicious. "
