I went to chewies with a group of
6 so the standard 18% was to be added on to our bill. Usually I am fine with this as I would tip that much anyways and usually the service doesn't suffer. On this occasion I and the rest of my table found ourselves waiting to order for at least 15 minutes and not even being offered a drink refill once, not to mention he didn't come to ask how to food was. Luckily the food was outstanding. It wasn't that busy but I feel as though our server focused on his 1 other table of 2 way more than ours because there was the possibility they may not tip 18%. I would definitely recommend chewies because the food is amazing but maybe only go with 4 friends instead of 5."

Absolutely outstanding food and

i heard all sorts of good things
about this place but when i finally got a chance to try it out, i was quite disappointed :( they didn't have any bisque or clam chowder or any soups, and i didn't find much of a selection of seafood (which is weird since they are known for that)"

Leave some time to look for
parking - pretty hard to find on a Saturday night."

I cannot explain how happy I am
with this restaurant and bar. I was a little skeptical because my wife and I are creatures of habit. But after my visit this is going to be our go to place for a night out! Food was excellent, ambience was great and service was great as well. The only bad thing is that the happy hour and specials are only during certain parts of the day (but with those prices you can't expect to be in business long....you'd go bankrupt!). Parking is also a premium so make sure you show up early to fight for a parking spot. But otherwise well worth every penny I spent at the restaurant! Great romantic dinner with the wife!!!"

Yummy brunch - crab cake benny,
chicken & waffles and southern biscuits with gravy & sausages. All we'd enjoy again! The service was friendly and prompt. I never had so many waiter thank me for coming as we were leaving - so appreciative of the business."

My friend and I went for a dinner
at Chewies in Kits and we were happy with our dinner we ordered. Our dinner started with white wine steamed mussels and the main dishes were their signature fried chicken and beef brisket. What we ordered were all great but we were not really impressed by our server. I am not too sure whether that is their theme of a service like Rodney, bit casual but he was bit rude at the beginning. Anyways, our overall experience was great and I would recommend this restaurant if you want to have a great nightout with your friends, go for it!"

Saw the TV program "you've got to
eat there" and decided to visit. Excellent pan-fried oysters, probably the best I have tasted. Good brisket and chicken po-boy as well. The only mistep was the server not informing us of their every day special on raw oysters between 5-7 PM even though we arrived at 6:30 and were seated immediately."

Fair, their other location is much
better. Food was slightly over cooked. I asked if the milk could be warmed up for my coffee, this is the first restaurant I have ever been to that was not able to do so."

This was my first time dining at
Chewies in Kits. I had heard lots of good things about it and it defiantly lived up to its expectations. I really enjoyed the lively, yet relaxed atmosphere. On this particular night there was a really large group sitting right beside the table I was at with my friends and they were quite loud. The hostess was extremely nice about this and offered us a complimentary dessert or drink for the inconvenience. I am a server at a restaurant in Vancouver so I really appreciated and respected this kind gesture. Will defiantly come back in the future!"

Waiters made us feel
welcome...very attentive to our needs! Def. go back! Food was pretty darn good too!"

I would prefer if they were out of
a certain food item that they would tell you before ordering rather them bring it to you with a discounted price assuming that you want it anyway. Service was rude after bring this point up."

great time (as always) I will be back!"

We went for the beignets and were
pleasantly surprised by their brunch menu. Everything we ordered was delicious and the portion sizes were more than we could finish. The service was excellent and friendly."

Made a reservation ahead of time
thru OpenTable however was told when we arrived that they were "working out the kinks" with the new system and we would have to wait for a table - 20 minutes later we were seated by the washrooms. The waiter never even cracked a smile, the food was just ok. The Crab Cake Benny was under seasoned and short on Hollandaise. Had seen the place on "You Gotta Eat Here" and had high hopes but this was a very unmemorable and disappointing experience."

First time at Chewie's with a
group of female friends. Group tried mussels and oysters po'boy and were impressed. However we found it too loud and had a hard time hearing and talking to each other."

This is a great venue for meeting
friends for brunch on the weekends. The service is friendly and the food made us want to make plans for the next time we go to Chewies. It is also a one minute walk to Kits Beach....so eat up and then go for a stroll. We saw Chewies on "You Gotta Eat Here" and thought it looked promising! Now it's our go to place for Sunday Brunch! Yum!"

Had 2 friends in from out of town
that wanted to check out Chewie's after seeing them on You Gotta Eat Here. We decided to go for brunch on Saturday of the long weekend, expecting it to be busy - we even made a reservation. No need, but it looked like we beat the rush as the restaurant filled up soon after we got there at 10:30 a.m. Food was great but the staff was exceptional. We had an issue with one of the meals (lots of egg shells in one of the bennies) and the server and manager went above and beyond to apologize and make sure we were happy when we left. The staff were all friendly and just cheeky enough, as well as professional. Really, ya gotta eat here!!"
