  • "I was my husband's birthday and I surprised him with a late lunch. It food was outstanding, the atmosphere exactly what we needed, gentle, quiet and relaxed. This combination made our meal together a wonderful celebration."

  • "From winery tours, tastings, restaurant dining- inside, private room, or deck, or casual 'picnic' style fare, all with spectacular views. Excellent selection of wines produced on-site with a moderate median price per bottle. Most impressive was the staff without outstanding friendliness and excellent service. Sunday brunch had a wide selection of meats, vegetables, side dishes, and desserts for one inclusive price. The food was good, well prepared, kept fresh, even made to order omelets, but I was hoping for a richer taste experience. Everything inside and out, including restroom were spotless. Visit their website to see options, menus, and pricing, which varies depending on dining style fare and whether wine or beer is consumed."

  • "Fantastic winery tour and tasting prior to dinner. Dinner was amazing and the service was excellent. Outstanding place for special occasions and reasonable enough for weekly dining. Highly recommended."

  • "My wife and I came to Chateau Morrisette as part of a day trip. First, we went to the winery and did wine tasting. Then, a tour. We, then, came to the restaurant. We had 5pm reservations, but they took us at 4pm. The table linens were bright and crisp and the table beautifully set. We had a window table with a beautiful view. The gentleman who saw us to our table was very polite and very out-going. Alec, our server, was amazing! He saw to our every need in a cheerful, professional manner. The food was amazing and presented very nicely. The atmosphere was perfect for this type of dining experience. From start to finish, we give Chateau Morrisette a 20 on a scale of 1-10. This was our first visit, but definitely not our last. Thank you!!!!"

  • "While the hostess seemed unsure of letting us come earlier than our reservation, after checking she told us to come on. We were seated in a room for 36, and alone for part of the time. hen the server was predictable in his spiel about how great it would be, but he was not around when we sought him, more than once. Thank goodness the water fillers could find him when we needed. The cheese board was the wonderful, best part. Glad we ordered and enjoyed it so much. The baked catfish was too fishy smelling to enjoy, even using lots of lemon (the water guy got for us). We will probably give it another try, but we were underwhelmed this trip. Seems like they aspire to be (and see themselves) as more special than they come off."

  • "We had made reservations for 2pm but arrived at 1:30. The staff was able to work us in early on an outside table that we requested. The service was very good and the food was quite good and there was plenty of it."

  • "My mother 86 and cousins visited your wonderful establishment. The service was perfect and the hostess making reservations was so helpful. We got lost (using our GPS) and had no service to call and explain. She was very gracious to us and found us a seat quickly. I love the new additions on the inside from the church. Noticed the stained glass window right away. We sat outside on a perfect day. The waitress was very helpful with my ordering as I have allergies. Thank you so much ..I look forward to our next visit."

  • "Beautiful view. Beautiful area. This spot was well worth the hour drive from Roanoke. The restaurant, while lovely and scenic, did not provide the quality of food I would have expected based on the costs. Of the five of us who ate there, four rated the food okay and one rated theirs good. This would not stop us from returning, but it might stop us from ordering the full meals. A lovely day."

  • "My husband and I had a great time last week at Chateau celebrating my 70th birthday. It is the first place we think of for a birthday or anniversary. The food is always outstanding. We usually meet other diners during our time there. We met travelers from California and Winston Salem this time. The hostess graciously took our picture. She did not rush through it but took time to get some good choices. We brought dessert home and extended the experience in that way. The day was crystal clear. What a marvelous view we enjoyed as we drove to and from the restaurant and while we were there. I also took time to appreciate the artwork and reading about the artists. We highly recommend the dining at Chateau Morrisette for any occasion."

  • "We decided at the last minute to do something romantic for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We came up Sunday afternoon for brunch and really enjoyed it - everything was delicious. Megan, our server, really made us feel special. The Sommelier that we had for our wine tasting was very knowledgeable and full of humor, which made the experience memorable. We spent the night in cabins near the winery that we found on the Chateau Morrisette's website. We would highly recommend this get-away for special occasion."

  • "The grounds at the winery and restaurant are beautiful. The patio has an amazing view of the vineyards and the mountains beyond, as does the dining room. The selection on the buffet was varied, with an amazing dessert selection. Service was top notch. We will be back!"

  • "Had not been to Chateau Morrisette in some time. Impossible to beat the view while enjoying your meal on the deck, facing the mountains of VA. Nicky was fabulous !!"

  • "As we where with our Pomeranian pup, dining inside was not allowed, so we had a wonderful early dinner served to us at a picnic table in the front garden. What a wonderful experience: the breathtaking view, a bottle of their Voigner, cheese and pate plate, duck egg rolls (awesome), lamb chop lollipops and grasshopper pie for dessert. I never would have expected such good food. We will visit again the next time we are in the area , and yes, bring our doggie next time. Jim and Charlene"

  • "The decor is outdated, the food wasn't that tasty and where we were seated, the air conditioner wasn't working. The price of the food seems to have covered the presentation and service only. I was very excited to go but once there, I couldn't wait to leave."

  • "Wait staff very inexperienced. Nice people but they don't quite know how to serve. They also forgot about us for about 20-30 minutes. Food is fair at best. Somewhat pretentious sounding with only fair quality. Lovely setting and local Chardonnay surprisingly good."

  • "We have been to Chateau Morrisette several times for lunch and it has always been excellent. This was the first time we were there for a Sunday Brunch. We were extremely disappointed. They ran out of food, we had to wait 25 minutes for the roast beef which was too raw. Will never go back for Sunday Brunch."

  • "Simply put, if not for the beautiful view of the Blue Ridge mountains I would not recommend. Food was very average with a limited lunch menu. Service was friendly but very slow, especially given the few customers they had. Have had the Sunday brunch here on many occassions and enjoyed so this was particularly disappointing."

  • "Tenderloin was chewy and tough. Chicken was so salty my guest could not eat it. David's Angel Hair was delicious as was the salmon. Our waiter was great as was the rest of the staff. The views off the deck are great so if you want a restaurant with everything but consistent good food, this is the place to go."

  • "My friends and I enjoy making the trip (2.75 hours from Charlotte, NC) to enjoy a great day with great food."

  • "The entire experience was great! There were 4 people in my party and they all seemed to enjoy it. We each dined on different entrees and everyone agreed that their food was very tasty. I had the beef tenderloin and it was cooked to my specifications and the portion was just right for me. We tried 4 of the desserts and shared. They were all good. Our service was great! The view cannot be praised enough! I grew up in the mountains of Floyd County and believe it to be one of the most beautiful places there is. Note: the Sangria was very refreshing and delicious. I highly recommend it, especially if you visit on a hot day."

  • "We are huge fans of Chateau Morrisette and dine there frequently. Unfortunately, our experience at brunch this past week was not up to their usual standard. While the food was good, the service staff seemed to be struggling. The buffet was not being freshened regularly and as a result--was messy. The wait staff were slow, rude and unattentive--and some downright surly. Not what I expected at all and not a standard for this restaurant. We had encouraged friends to have brunch with us on Sunday, and had to apologize to them several times for the service. Very embarrassing."

  • "We went on a Sunday for brunch on the Sunday live music. The brunch was good, great outdoor music and casual atmosphere. We also did the wine tasting, Alex was wonderful at explaining all the wines and accommodating us. We will defiantly return for the Sunday music."

  • "Excellent service, delicious food, and a beautiful vista. What more do you want when dining? We loved it. It's a little far for a "regular" restaurant (we're in Roanoke), but just perfect for special occasions."

  • "The Shrimp and grits entrée was the best I have ever had. We dined at the Chateau Morrisette for our forth ninth anniversary dinner. I do not know how the polenta was so light and fluffy, and the corn kernels in it tasted like sweet corn-on-the-cob kernels. The sauce for the shrimp and meat was just the right amount of spiciness, with the cream to make it rich. My husband had the pork roll filled with sweet potato and some greens. Pork is his favorite meat and it was moist, tender and delicious. He was also impressed with the taste of the baby carrots, maybe they were roasted. As a former HE teacher and food contest judge, I would give this meal a blue ribbon!"

  • "Its was our anniversary and Chateau Morrisette was the perfect place to celebrate! Neither of us had ever been there but had always heard great things about it. It exceeded our expections! The food (Sunday brunch) was so good! We ate so much and it was all delicious. Enjoyed a little of the outdoor music and did some tasting and shopping! Thanks for providing the perfect place to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary! We will be back!"

  • "We've eaten three times recently, twice for dinner and once for brunch. Atmosphere/Service excellent. Great Salmon, Lamb Chops, Quiche. Steaks are tasteless. Brunch prime rib is great, not enough variety on starches/breads."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "We have been to Chateau Morrisette several times for special celebration dinners as well as quiet romantic evenings. We have never been disappointed! The wine list comprises their own Virginia wines which are good. The food and service are always outstanding. We would certainly make the drive just for the food but the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains is absolutely breathtaking. A truly wonderful experience!"

  • "A pleasant experience without any frills and thrills, except for the outdoor view. We were seated immediately for dinner (reservations made) in what appeared to be the banquet room. We did not visit the bar area. The salad was excellent. The modest entrée was well prepared and flavorful. My wife enjoyed her cabernet."

  • "We have gone there for years but this time the food and service were terrible. Undercooked burgers and appetizer arrived with entrée. Bill came before dessert was offered. Prices were very high for the value."

  • "We had arrived at the restaurant late due to traffic but even though we technically arrived 10 minutes after they were closed they were happy to serve us. The staff was great and the food was fantastic. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view with a glass of their Chardonnay. We had a wonderful lunch and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience."
