My family and I have been there couple of times especially when we want to have a relaxing dinner. This time we went to celebrate my daughter's graduation because it is the place for such event. The view was amazing and the food was pretty good too. The food had great flavor and was very enjoyable. One nice touch that surprised me, my husband and I both wore black pants and when the hostess seated us, she gave us black napkins and took the white ones off the table so we wouldn't get "lint" on our pants. I had remembered hearing that it was very good, so I came in with high expectations. Even those high expectations were exceeded. We had King Estate pinot gris which was very good. I had a chopped salad. That sounds boring, but it was much better than that. My wife pointed out the New Wave Surf and Turf. I had skipped over it because steak and fish usually doesn't interest me. However, *this* was ribs and scallops! Two things that I love. Both were very good. The sauce served with the ribs was as good as any I had ever had. The scallops were prepared perfectly with a sauce that included a bit of wasabi. I hadn't been to The Chart House yet. Food was excellent! Our server was a little slow (we thought she was picking and squeezing the oranges herself). Overall, it was a fun place to try out. We wanted a place that was special, with good views and excellent service; and we got all that. Our server Julie was attentive, and had wonderful suggestions for our dining pleasure. I would definitely go back, but probably only for a special occasion, as the price tag on the meal was a little steep. Our waitress was wonderful but there was a long 15-20 min wait after we finished each course. All the food was delicious except for my salmon Caesar....you could barely taste any Caesar flavor....minimal Parmesan....and 3 croutons. The salad was wilted and looked like it had been tossed early that morning. Very disappointing. On a clear, sunny day the scenic vista from the Chart House viewpoint is both stunning and beautiful. What a fitting backdrop for a wonderful and delicious brunch. On the day we visited, our selections included the Shaved Prime Rib Benedict, and the Traditional Eggs breakfast with pancake. They used to be delicious but the last 2 I've had have been tough and not as flavorful. It's got me wanting to find another "favorite" restaurant! I used to brag about how Chart House's New York's were superior to anything else on the menu and had people agree after they took bites of mine. The last 2 have been embarrassingly bad. I wouldn't even think about doing the taste "test" with my friends.
